Easy to work with
My basement windows were lacking screens. The radon level is too high in the basement, so I needed a way to open the windows to decrease the level of radon. I needed temporary screens to accomplish this. They are perfect for my windows.
Lightweight quality window screens with a safety cord to keep it from falling out the window
These screens are an upgrade from the wood frame metal mesh screens I have used previously.
They have quality made aluminum frames and a strong fiberglass mesh. They are rust resistant, fire resistant, and durable. Even a cat can’t claw through them!
The screens have brushy strips all around that create a bug proof barrier and a secure fit. They slide reasily for installation.
They are well designed and the white alluminum frame with black accents and mesh look great.
My favorite thing is that there is a safety cord securely attached to the frame. If you somehow accidentally drop it while putting it in the window you can retrieve it with the cord. Simply hold onto the cord while you are putting it in or taking it out of the window.
They come in a two pack of 10′ high and are adjustable in width form 19″ to 36″. They also provide mesh repair squares. There are instructions included as well.

These things are amazing. The edges are flocked, as if to seal out drafts. Odd, considering the sole purpose of a window screen is to facilitate drafts. It’s to fill the gap created by the plastic clips holding the 2 pieces together, while allowing them to slide past each other. They slide very smoothly. Standard splined dark glass mesh and quite rigid frames. A couple mesh patches for repairs are included. That’s a nice touch.
Perhaps it’s a failure of imagination on my part, but I don’t get the “safety rope”. I’ve used screens like this my whole life and can’t recall a single instance of thinking “Wouldn’t it be swell if this had a loop of string dangling off one corner?” I have no idea what it’s for. Maybe if you live in a high-rise apartment
The only branding is a small sticky label that peels off easily. I wish everything were like that.
PS: if my review seems lukewarm, let me clarify that these are neither revolutionary nor extraordinary (which would warrant 5 stars) but they are as high quality as I’ve ever encountered, and the ability to reconfigure 90 to fit tall, narrow windows makes them more versatile. I don’t need that and haven’t tried it, but it seems straightforward, so if you have odd windows, especially if you move expandable screens among them, that feature might make these best of breed.
These adjustable window screens turned out to be one of those simple purchases that immediately solved a longstanding problem in my home. We have several windows that never had proper screens, and opening them meant choosing between fresh air or dealing with bugs. These screens finally fixed that.
Right out of the box, the build quality impressed me. The aluminum frame feels sturdier than I expected at this price, and the mesh is tightly installed with no sagging. The black mesh also looks cleaner and blends in better than the silver mesh you sometimes see. The frame edges have a soft material that helps seal small gaps and to improve the seal once the window closes against it. Everything feels smooth and well finished, with no sharp corners or edges.
Installation could not have been easier. You just slide the frame to the size you need and set it in place. There was no struggling to make it fit, and once the window was closed against it, the screen felt secure. The sliding action is smooth and steady, with no wobble. They adjust both horizontally and vertically, which makes them useful for a wide range of window sizes. They are also lightweight enough to move around without feeling flimsy.
Airflow is excellent, and visibility through the mesh is better than some heavier screens that noticeably darken a room. They keep insects out, and they have been great for letting pets enjoy fresh air without risking an escape. The included repair patch is a thoughtful extra. The only part I am unsure about is the small safety cord, but it does not interfere with anything.
These screens are not meant to replace customfit screens, but for quick installation, older windows, or temporary use, they work extremely well. The twopack adds even more value. I have been very pleased with them and would recommend them.

We have two windows that have no screens and we only use them very occasionally. And they are both different sizes. One is 10 high and 32 wide. The other is 10 wide and 34 high. One is in the kitchen and only open when we are in the main part of the house, the other is in the master bath and only open at night. This thing works out great, and my wife wants another on so we do not have to swap them out.
It is pretty decent quality and pretty durable. It is easy to use. Very easy. It is a perfect size for TWO of our windows. And it is far cheaper than getting custom window screens made. So a VERY good value for the money.

First off, I would recommend getting a permanent screen if you want a long term solution. Cheap to get and make yourself. These screens are pretty good quality and the ability to fit it in a gap of various sizes is quite nice. installing it is extremely easy and adjusting it to fit is a breeze. For the price, these are a bit pricey, but there are some cases where this is not a bad option. Take one when you travel and put it in windows in cabins with no screens, or in your home where you only need the window open sometimes.
