Honestly, I initially thought this portable extractor would be one of those appliances that takes up counter space without contributing much. I set it up beside the stove, turned it on, and left it in the kitchen for my wife to use while I was at work. When I returned, she told me she had used it and that it “works very well.” She is not easily impressed by this type of appliance, so her reaction was the best confirmation that it actually serves a useful purpose.
The design works well in a kitchen with limited space. The base remains stable on the counter, and the head can be aimed toward the cooking area. Its height can also be adjusted, making it easier to position the intake close to a pan or pot instead of being limited to one fixed position. The front controls are straightforward and do not require a complicated setup.
The built-in light is another useful detail because it shines directly onto the cooking area. The round filter is removable, which matters because this is the part that will naturally collect grease and residue. There are also three suction levels, so the highest setting is not always necessary.
It is important to understand what this appliance is designed to do. It is a portable extractor that works close to the cooking source, not a direct replacement for a full-size range hood installed above the stove. It also takes up some counter space and needs to be positioned fairly close to the pan or pot for the best result. In our kitchen, we were able to place it beside the stove without it getting too much in the way.

Useful gadge
I got this hood in order to supplement my hood that just recirculates. This seems to work pretty decently- I used it while I was frying a turkey burger. It has three different levels- I used it on the highest level. It did a nice job pulling away any smoke. It was fairly loud though on the highest setting. The lowest setting was fairly quiet but I don’t know how effective it really is.
The bottom has a little suction cup that does a nice job keeping the hood in place. Finally the hood is a bit bigger than I expected, which is probably a good thing.
