Amazing quality build and honestly works even better than I hoped. I cannot believe I did not know portable range hoods were even a thing before this.
Not everything you cook is directly under your stove vent and sometimes you are using a conduction plate, indoor BBQ setup, hot pot, or cooking something that creates extra smoke. This has been so nice to have because it actually pulls the smoke and cooking fumes away instead of letting them sit in the house.
It is the perfect size and height and does not take up much space at all. I love that the arm adjusts so you can position it where you need it and the four speed settings let you control how much airflow you want depending on what you are cooking. It is also surprisingly quiet while running.
Setup was super simple and I really appreciated that it came with extra carbon filters included. It is portable so I can move it around the kitchen easily and then put it away when I am done.
It works exactly like it says and I got exactly what I wanted. Amazing value for the money and definitely a 10 out of 10 recommend. Chef’s kiss.
I bought this Portable Range Hood 4-Speed Exhaust Fan mainly for indoor hot pot nights and occasional tabletop grilling, and it does a much better job capturing smoke and cooking odors than I expected from a portable unit.
The adjustable height and tilt are genuinely useful because you can position the hood directly over the cooking area instead of relying on a fixed angle. I noticed a clear difference when cooking foods that normally leave lingering smells in the room. It won’t perform like a full-size built-in range hood, but for a portable solution it removes a surprising amount of smoke and steam.
The four speed settings provide good flexibility. Lower speeds are quiet enough for conversation during meals, while the higher settings move noticeably more air when cooking gets smoky. The included aluminum filter and oil collection cup are easy to remove for cleaning, which makes maintenance straightforward.

AMZCHEF Portable Range Hood. Cooking massive amounts of protein for my bodybuilding diet creates lots of smoke in my design studio kitchenette, so I got this AMZCHEF portable range hood since I have no overhead range in my studio kitchen. The aerodynamic engineering works exactly as-advertised. The internal carbon filters actively scrub grease and smoke from the air, pulling a solid 120 CFM without requiring any external ducting. At its lowest speed, it operating at a quiet-enough 52dB, the brushless motor doesn’t drown out my podcasts while I meal prep. The LED light is also a great feature. The articulating arm that tilts 40 degrees is perfect for aiming where it’s needed. My only critique involves the center of gravity on the chassis itself. The base is relatively small compared to the heavy filter head and doesn’t have any weight to it. If you extend the telescopic arm to its absolute max height and tilt it forward, the entire unit becomes slightly top-heavy and can and does tip over if whenever I bump the table I set it on. Other than that factor, it’s a highly effective, space-saving kitchen gadget at a great value-price & gets my 100% Tried-and-True 5 Star Rating!

A Portable Range Hood That Works and Great for Apartments
This is a portable range hood from AMZChef and like their other products are high quality and it actually works. I live in an apartment with limited options for venting when cooking. In trying this for a few weeks, I can say this works great. Note it can’t eliminate smoke and odors, but for me it reduced it by 60 to 80 percent so my bedroom doesn’t smell like steak or tuna at night. Everything is included in the box which includes power adapter, the range hood, and extra filters. What’s cool about this range hood is the built in light which if your cooking could act as additional light source while cooking foods. There is an oil collector just under the hood which is removable for cleaning – so if your frying food, it helps collect the oil that would have dispersed into the air. Oils and smoke is what tends to cause much of the lingering smells so this hood unit does a great a job in collecting both. The exhaust is on the back of the unit so do be aware it will be blowing in that direction. I setup my unit under the stove hood unit so it blows to the back and up. This allows me to use both since my kitchen hood unit doesn’t do well with smoke and oil, I let the portable range hood handle that. Its a great system and eliminates so much of the odor and smoke. This is the first range hood I used that actually works well. The huge intake and high quality filter they use does a great job. Aside from the light, the hood has four fan speeds so you can adjust depending on what you are cooking. I normally don’t need to go beyond level 2 unless I am burning some steak. Overall, this is a great range hood and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to reduce smoke and smells in their apartment when cooking.
