I bought this a few months back but we are just now placing on the pool due to all of the leaves falling in. It was really easy to put on. It has the strap that goes around the bottom and tightens so that it doesn’t fly off in the wind. It also has the Velcro straps if someone wanted to add the little weights on the side. We have had ours on for a couple of weeks now and it has stayed on. It has a good overhang on the edges. I still have our pump connected and it runs underneath for now as we are still having 80+ degree weather. I placed the latch close to my pump so I can easily loosen and check my water. I am still adding chlorine here and there until our temp drops and I plan on closing completely. The top loosens easily and I can lift up around the edges and go around and add my liquid chlorine if needed. The material reminds me of what they put over the springs on a trampoline so not sure how long it will hold up against the weather over time but so far it is doing well. I put the pool hacker pool pillow underneath mine which has ties on each corner to keep it from moving from the center. I thought after our first rain that water was getting into the pool because my levels were so high but I didn’t take into account the physics and water displacement with the large amount of water that had accumulated on the coveronce I bought a little pump and took the water off of the cover my water levels inside of my pool went back to where they were. Overall this is a good pool cover. I would buy again if needed
This pool cover is by far the best cover I have ever come across for our pools! We upgraded to a 16 ft framed pool this year and the cover that came with it was horrible! It would fly off with just the gentlest breeze and it had holes in it so when it rained the dirty rainwater got into our pool. Because of this I ordered the 18-ft pool cover so we would have extra range on the sides that hung over to help counteract this. Honestly though, I think we would have been perfectly fine had I gone with the 16 ft one. This does hangover about 2 ft but I really don’t mind as I knew it was going to be a big fit.
The material is tarp like and although some reviewers say that it’s very thin I find it to be perfectly suitable for our needs and not too thin. I feel like it would take a lot to rip this. More importantly, because the material is stiffer, I am able to put this pool cover on all by myself because it’s not constantly flapping around in a light breeze. If it was very windy I could easily attach a couple of the smaller blue individual velcro wraps to hold one end of the cover down while I work the cover over the rest of the pool, literally giving me more hands than I have ever had before! After some day drinking I was a bit tipsy and needed to put the cover on because I knew we were going to get rain, I was able to do this by myself while quite tipsy. However when I got done I realized that I put this on upside down, but it really didn’t matter, we didn’t use the pool for about a week afterwards and we even got some heavy rains with it and it’s still stayed on! Furthermore, after sipening off all the water that sat on top of the cover, because none of it gets into the pool, we took the cover off to correct it and our water was still crystal clean. I cannot tell you how many disappointing days I’ve had where I’ve taken our old cover off and have to clean the pool before I even get to use the pool. Now our pool is always ready to go!
When I ordered it I did not realize that it also had a large strap that goes around the pool. The extra nice thing about this strap that goes all the way around the pool is that it has four tightening spots, not one like usual covers do. On opposite sides of the pool there is a spot with two tightening areas. I was just really interested in the smaller straps that wrap around each individual frame pole. I also like the fact that this tarp can be used to winterize the pool meaning that we don’t necessarily have to take it down if we don’t want to.
I have been pleasantly surprised that even just tightening the all-around black straps is enough to keep this cover on our pool during windy storms. Just a couple days ago we had a really bad storm come through and I noticed that it was starting to lift off and so all I did was go and put on about five of the individual blue straps around the poles and that kept it on even though I didn’t do all of the poles.
This pool cover is definitely worth the $80 that I paid for it! I feel like it’s already paid for itself even though we’ve only had it for about a month. I have no doubt that the durability is going to allow me to use this for a few years and I am so happy that I finally found a pool cover that works so well for our climate as well as our ability to help keep our pool clean.
Because there are no holes in it and it is waterproof it also helps with the evaporation over pool water so we don’t have the top the pool off as much. It also helps hold in the heat, and since it’s black it also helps heat the pool up. Our giant pool has not dipped below 74 when we have this on. When we use our pool heater, a wood burning stove that we built, and we get the temperature up to 80, it will hold that temperature with this cover on, reducing the amount of wood that we need to heat this.
Five stars is not enough for this pool cover!
The design and how it fits is great. The velcro straps wrapping around the posts helps hold it down in the highest of winds. we had no problems with the exception of the material. the tarp material has not held up on the inside of the cover, the tiny black fibers of the material are shedding off into the pool and making it a nightmare to vacuum up. spent several hours cleaning the pool out. the company did reach out and made it right with me and is in the process of redesigning the inside of the cover for next year. i look forward to that!
Perfect easy to put on we have a 21 foot pool it did fit very snug but it’s definitely made for those easy up backyard pools. I have a regular above ground pool . I would definitely size up if you have a permanent above ground because those rails are bulky compared to regular pop up pools , made of good quality stayed on all winte
I bought in July 25 and it is Jan 26. I love love this cover.
I love how it clamps together to keep snug. I have it on still through winter and have beach balls under and big clamps from Harbour Freight and zero rain accumilates on top even in our SW Louisiana torrential downpours. It is showing a little signs of wear and I expect I will have to get another at some point this year but I am sure that is normal.

Bought 16′ round cover. Fit great. We have had several bad storms with high winds and downed trees—pool cover stayed in place. We did hang small sandbags on it for one storm but didn’t have weights attached for the others. Waterproof so keeps all debris out. We stacked pool floats under the cover in the middle so heavy rain water would collect near edges. Bailed water off the cover with a pail and pool stayed totally clean. Strong, durable. Best pool cover that we have tried and worth the money. Easy on/off. Definitely would buy again if needed.
