As a pool owner, this gives me a lot more peace of mind. It was easy to set up, floats well, and the alarm is loud enough to get your attention if there’s unexpected movement in the water. I like having that extra layer of safety, especially when kids or pets are around. It doesn’t get in the way of enjoying the pool, but it’s reassuring knowing it’s there. Definitely a smart addition for anyone who wants a little extra security.
With small children in the house and a backyard pool, I knew we needed a pool alarm for safety. This seemed to be the highest rated and I liked that it would work with our frame pool also. It was easy to set up and test for sensitivity and works exactly as described. One thing we noticed however is if the pump is running and disturbing the surface of the water, or if there is much of a breeze blowing to cause rippling in the water, the alarm will go off a lot. We have found that during windy or inclement weather, we have to remove the alarm as it will continuously trigger false alarms. We also noticed that when our pool filter is freshly cleaned, the filter outlet causes enough rippling to set off the alarm which is kind of annoying. Aside from that, it’s very well designed and reliable for going off if the water is disturbed at all. I think there’s a bit of a learning curve and some tweaking that needs to be done with the sensitivity in order to get the best results but I love that it has the remote sensor for inside the house and that you are able to adjust the sensitivity.
