Good replacement for CFL bulbs
Perfect fit and replacement for the CFL bulbs that came with my place. The light output is bright and warm (as expected for 2700K). I hope that these LED’s will last even longer than the CFL’s (and much safer to handle and dispose).
We have a number of fluorescent can lights that we installed when we remodeled our kitchen. We didn’t really want them, but we were stuck between the incandescent era and the LED era and didn’t really have a choice if we wanted can lights. All told, the fluorescent can lights were as terrible as we thought they’d be – they didn’t produce enough light, took a while to warm up to full brightness, got dimmer (and redder) over time, and burnt out quickly due to all of the on/off activity required of kitchen lighting. We ended up using our T8 tube lighting as primary lighting because the cans weren’t bright enough.
After installing these bulbs the can lights are now everything we wanted them to be. They turn on instantly, have great color and best of all they’re SUPER bright! Even though these carry the same 1200 lumen rating as the CFL bulbs they replaced, they’re far far brighter than the CFL “equivalent”. With these bulbs we can now actually use our can lights as primary lighting! With the diffusers built into our fixtures the cans emit a nice even glow that lights up the entire room very well.
These bulbs are supposed to be dimmable but we don’t have dimmable fixtures (as far as we know) so I can’t speak to how well they dim, but our experience with other Philips LED bulbs has been fantastic in that regard.
The old bulbs are rated for 1800 hours of life and use more than twice the power (26W vs 10.8W). According to the packaging, these are rated for 32 YEARS – how do they even test that? Unless one of them fails these are likely the last bulbs I’ll ever install in the kitchen.
One note about these bulbs – they do require electronic ballast. Philips has a compatibility list on their site and you should definitely check that before purchase.
I was happy to find these since it meant I didn’t have to futz with the ballast or wiring. For what I paid (about $60 with tax) these were an absolute bargain.
I had nine 26W triple-tube 4-pin CFLs (EiKO TT26/27) in my kitchen and was looking for an LED alternative for energy savings. I had three options:
1. Stick with the existing CFLs.
2. LED retrofit kit (bypass the ballast).
3. LED direct replacement (4-pin ballast compatible).
#2 seemed like a pain, so I took a chance with #3. Someone from my neighborhood had done the same and was happy with the Philips, so I figured they’d probably work nicely with my ballasts too. So far I’m glad I did, and provided they last 10+ years I’ll be satisfied (the packaging claims 32+ years).
Some things to note:
– These lights are considerably brighter than the CFLs they replace, even though the number of rated lumens are less. Maybe that’s because my CFLs are six years old.
– The LEDs come on faster and I haven’t seen any flickering nor heard any buzzing.
– Only the cap of the light is illuminated.
– I have not tested with a dimmer, and don’t intend to use one.
– The label on the light says “Use with electronic ballasts”.

My house came with these really odd based CFLs that finally started to go out after several years. I knew I wanted to replace with LEDs for their efficiency and durability and was happy I actually found a recognizable brand selling them. Not only are these LEDs SUPER bright, but they’re super efficient so you can have a more power-efficient home. Installation is also a breeze, just pull out the old lights and push these right in (making sure it’s aligned first of course). I’ve replaced practically all my house’s original CFLs with these and never looked back. Wonderful product, absolutely recommended.

A good replacement for classic cfl , no need to change anything plug and play so good for kitchen . I replaced all 6 I have with new LED . Lets see how long they will last 🙂
Pretty good
IMHO the color/CRI isn’t phenomenal; they seem a bit yellow. But they’re bright and they work as described… way better than the CCFLs that they replaced. Good enough that I ordered another carton of them to finish converting the room. I’m satisfied.

I am happy I bought these lights. I replaced my 5 florescent ceiling lights in the kitchen with these LED and they save a lot of electricity because we are in the kitchen a lot since we are both retired. It went from 130 watts to 52 watts.. The light may be a little brighter but my wife didn’t notice any difference so I am happy with them. thanks
Beautiful, long-lasting replacement for compact fluorescent bulbs
These are wonderful replacements for canned compact fluorescent bulbs. They have the same receptacle and the LED lights look so much better in the recessed can. They also very long lasting. Maybe replaced old bulbs with these at least two years ago and they are going strong. These are the main lighting in our kitchen so they are on a lot. Needed to replace compact fluorescent bulbs maybe once a year. Plus they are instant on; no warm up.
