The best just got better!
These fans a whirl of an upgrade. Lower noise at the same RPM as the G1 while also moving more air. Now in black! which let’s be honest is much more versatile than the beige brown Noctua is known for. Wait wasn’t that long compared to the 140mm variant (that upgrade was 10 years in the making) this was a breezy 4 years.
You’re paying for the silence and R&D that Noctua is so well versed on. Are these the fastest? Not even close. Are these the cheapest, literally the inverse. But are these the quietest and is their warranty best-in-class? Yes, and that’s why I buy them.
Moves more air than competitors in real world use, all at the quietest possible volume. These are the real deal and in an industry full of insane prices for negligible performance or quality differences (ASUS, etc.), the Noctua price premium is actually worth the innovative fans they’ve developed.
I replaced some “normal” exhaust fans with these and my temperatures dropped by a few degrees and I cannot hear them unless they’re at full tilt, in which case they sound low, almost musical. I love these things.
Perfect fan, little to no noise at all. Very customizable rpm. The in-built anti vibration pads are very effective, and it’s made of sturdy materials that are built to last. I got it for my GPU fans and my GPU has never been cooler. Even though it’s a bit pricey, I’ll advise if you can afford it and don’t want to constantly worry about noise, nor quality, then this is a perfect fit for you. Easy installation as well.
I stopped looking for alternatives (2026)
This fan basically outclasses all the other fans. It offers a much higher static pressure and flow with a low noise level. At the same noise level it outperforms all other fans.
Combined with the long lifetime and reliability it can probably outlast multiple cheaper fans.
Considering the directions that the competitors go, like Arctic to plain cheap sleeve bearing and the others stagnating, even though it is 32 a piece it is still worth it. For heavy duty uses, the machine can get several degrees cooler while not having regular downtime to replace fans often (note there are multiple fans that fail at random so it is not once every few years), which saves valuable time.
Bought 3x of these fans (one 2-pack and one single) for a 360mm AIO cooler. These fans replaced the P12 Pro and I found them to be quieter and just as good when both fans are maxed out. I initially thought the 1800 RPM would be a bottleneck compared to P12 Pro’s 3000 RPM ceiling, but there seems to be a diminishing return as both fans perform similar at max RPM while the Noctua G2 fans are much quieter and have a better noise profile.
The Noctua NF Gen 2 fans are outstanding. Installation was straightforward, build quality is excellent, and the performance exceeded my expectations. They move a significant amount of air while remaining impressively quiet, even under heavier loads.
The attention to detail is exactly what I’ve come to expect from Noctua. The fans feel premium, the included accessories are useful, and the overall engineering is top-notch. Temperatures improved noticeably in my system, and noise levels stayed low.
If you’re looking for high-quality case fans that deliver excellent cooling, reliability, and acoustics, these are absolutely worth the investment.
