must have filter se The glass on these Neewer ND filters is excellent, and they do a fantastic job of cutting down glare and getting that smooth, cinematic motion blur on bright days. If you are shooting outside on your Insta360 Luna Ultra, they are pretty much essential.
The magnetic attachment design is really clever and makes them super quick to snap on. However, you have to be incredibly careful when using them. It is absolutely vital that you only attach or remove these filters while the camera is completely turned off. If you try to swap them while the camera is on and active, the physical contact and sudden weight shift can easily throw off the motorised 3-axis gimbal, causing it to calibrate incorrectly or potentially damage the delicate brushless motors.
The glass itself is top-tier. It is sharp, highly multi-coated, and handles fingerprints and water droplets really well, meaning you don’t lose any of that crisp lens quality. See photos.
My only real gripe is with the storage case they provide. It is surprisingly bulky, which sort of defeats the purpose of having a compact, pocket-friendly setup. That minor issue aside, if you remember to power down before swapping them, this kit is an absolute must-have for the Luna Ultra
NEEWER ND Filter Set Compatible with Insta360 Luna Ultra Only, ND8 + ND16 + ND32 + ND64 HD I recently picked up the NEEWER ND Filter Set specifically for my Insta360 Luna Ultra, and it has made a world of difference in my outdoor footage. These filters are clearly built with precision in mind; they snap onto the lens perfectly without adding any noticeable weight, which is crucial for maintaining the gimbal’s balance. The inclusion of four different stops (ND8 through ND64) covers almost every lighting scenario I encounter, from overcast days to harsh, bright sunlight.
The glass quality is impressive, providing crisp, clear images without any color casting that I’ve experienced with cheaper third-party filters. I’ve been using them to achieve that perfect motion blur in my action shots, and the result is a much more professional, cinematic look that I just couldn’t get with the camera’s raw settings alone. It’s a relief to finally have a set that is specifically tailored for this camera rather than trying to make a universal filter work.
For anyone serious about taking their action videography to the next level, this kit is an essential addition to your gear bag. The packaging is compact enough to throw in my pocket or small carrying case, so I never feel like I’m lugging around extra bulk. It’s an affordable and high-quality solution that gives me the creative control I need, and I’m thoroughly impressed with how much it has elevated the visual quality of my content.
NEEWER ND Filter Set Compatible with Insta360 Luna Ultra Only, ND8 + ND16 + ND32 + ND64 H I’ve owned a fair stack of Neewer products, and while I’ve been on the fence about some of their home goods their camera equipment has always been a home run.
To me these are the kind of thing which do the job and leave me with little to say. There’s nothing too expansive for comment about filters beyond do they impact the image beyond their intended purpose – no, seems immaculate – and is there anything about the build quality which is apparently insufficient – no, they seem quite premium in material and finish.
The magnetic feature is great, part of me wishes all camera filters worked this way. They fit very quickly, easily, and strongly without being difficult to detatch.
The range of exposure alteration across the filters is likely to cover everything you need, it’s hard to imagine needing darker anyway.
I like the case, I suppose it could technically be smaller as another reviewer seemed to object to, but I don’t think it’s enough to make a difference personally.
Excellent filter set! I love it when things just work! These magnetic filters just snap into place and are good to go.
The case that they come in is compact as well, so just slip it in the camera kit and you are set. 8-16-32-and 64ND filters provide the range we would want to have ready and available in seconds.
Very high quality, professional filters from Neewer, I am very very happy with these!
Practical creator ki Over the last few days I’ve tested this Neewer ND filter kit with the Insta360 Luna Ultra on walks and short travel clips, and it’s turned into one of those small accessories that quietly improves every shot, so I’m happy to rate it five stars. The four filters (ND8, ND16, ND32, ND64) give enough range to deal with different lighting, from overcast streets to bright midday scenes.
What I’ve noticed most is how much easier it becomes to keep motion looking natural. With the ND filters on, I can avoid pushing the shutter speed too high, so people walking, cars passing or quick pans keep a smoother, more “cinematic” feel instead of that stutter you get in harsh light. The magnetic mount makes this workable in real life, I just snap a filter on or off and carry on filming. The build feels solid for a small kit, metal and glass rather than loose plastic, and the slim design doesn’t seem to interfere with the gimbal’s movement. The coatings have handled smudges and a bit of spray near water without leaving marks in the footage, and the included cleaning cloth has been useful to keep everything clear between shots.
Since these filters are tailored to the Luna Ultra, I don’t have to guess about fit or balance, they just work with this camera as intended. For a creator or vlogger who wants smoother outdoor footage and better exposure control without carrying a big rig.
Excellent Magnetic ND Filters That Preserve Image Quality and Gimbal Performance These neutral density filters are a worthwhile accessory for anyone wanting more control over exposure when filming outdoors with the compatible gimbal camera. Having ND8, ND16, ND32 and ND64 in one kit provides enough flexibility to cope with anything from lightly overcast conditions through to bright midday sunshine.
The magnetic mounting system is one of the standout features. Each filter aligns quickly and securely with the lens, making it easy to swap densities as lighting changes without slowing down filming. The slim profile is also important, as it allows the gimbal to initialise and move freely without upsetting the balance or introducing any noticeable vibration.
Optically, the filters have performed well. Image sharpness remains high across the frame, colours stay natural, and I haven’t noticed any obvious reduction in contrast or unwanted colour casts, which can sometimes affect lower quality ND filters. They make it much easier to maintain a slower shutter speed for smoother, more cinematic motion blur while avoiding overexposed footage in bright conditions.
Build quality is reassuring. The aluminium frames feel precisely machined, the glass appears well finished, and the coatings do a good job of resisting fingerprints and light water spotting while making cleaning easier. The supplied storage case also keeps everything organised and helps protect the filters between shoots.
The only minor drawback is that you’ll need to pay attention to selecting the correct filter strength before recording, as changing filters takes longer than simply adjusting camera settings. It’s also worth remembering that these filters are designed to be used individually rather than stacked.
Overall, the kit has met my expectations. The filters are well made, easy to fit, and provide a noticeable improvement in exposure control while maintaining excellent image quality. I’d happily recommend them to anyone looking to get more consistent outdoor footage from their camera.
High-Quality Individual ND Filters for Clean, Artifact-Free Footage Full Disclosure: This product was received for free as part of the Vine Program.
Having used Neewer ND filters in the past, I had high expectations for this set, and they deliver great optical performance. A common issue with low-quality variable ND filters is the appearance of a cross-polarization “X pattern” across your footage. Because this kit uses separate, dedicated fixed filters for each specific stop (ND8, ND16, ND32, and ND64), that issue is entirely avoided. The optics are clear, color rendering remains accurate, and they work perfectly fine to control exposure on the Insta360 Luna Ultra without any artifacting.
Pros:
Fixed individual filters completely eliminate the “X pattern” artifact found in cheap variables
Consistent, reliable optical quality based on prior brand experience
Perfect fit for managing bright daylight exposure on the camera
Cons:
Requires swapping physical filters manually rather than twisting a single variable ring
Cinematic Motion Blur & Solid QualityEssential for Your Luna Ultra! I’ve been using NEEWER gear for a while, and they have really stepped up their game over the years. They used to be known as a budget brand, but their build quality has come a long way. This ND filter set for the Insta360 Luna Ultra is a perfect example of how premium their products feel now.We picked these up ahead of our anniversary trip to Montenegro to use with our new Luna Ultra camera, and they are going to be absolute lifesavers for capturing that beautiful scenery. Here is why this ND filter set is a great buy:Cinematic Photography: The set comes with ND8, ND16, ND32, and ND64 filters. Having these is absolutely essential for bright, sunny outdoor conditions because they allow you to slow down your shutter speed, giving your videos that smooth, professional, motion-blurred cinematic look. Premium Glass & Coatings: The filters themselves are excellent quality. The glass has a really nice protective coating/film on them that helps keep your footage clean and glare-free. Easy to Use: They are super simple to install and snap right on, making it quick to swap them out as the lighting changes throughout the day. Durable Protection: The set comes with a very strong, durable carrying case, so you don’t have to worry about throwing them in your travel bag or dropping them while you’re on the go.Overall, NEEWER delivered a high-quality product at a very affordable price point. It’s an incredible value for your money and an absolute must-have if you want to get the most out of your Luna Ultra’s camera. Very pleased with this purchase!
Fantastic quality and essential for daylight filming I love how quick a quality company like Neewer can get accessories out for a camera that’s only just been released. This is a really important accessory that controls how much light is getting into the lens. So helpful to maintain a lower aperture for a nice soft focus background when using the longer lens, And also maintaining control over shutter speed so it can look more cinematic versus action camera style.
They all think the camera perfectly and appreciate that they stay on really well with the inbuilt magnet system. Each of the four lenses are perfectly labelled, so you can see which filter you’re using and they’re even held in place in the case by magnet also. You can expect with Neewer But the quality of the glass and lens used is going to be fantastic, so there’s no degrading the quality overall. Love that it comes with a lenscloth for easy cleaning and maintenance. And the case itself is really small and easy to throw into a pocket or bag along with the camera.
I think these are a great price and essential to help get the best image out of the Luna Ultra.
