I have always hated my hallway closet sliding doors. They never opened wide enough to actually *use* the closet, so when my drunken father fell into them and obliterated them, I took it as a sign from the universe. Enter these curtains.
I ordered the yellow because my north and south walls are deep red and, as Martha Stewart has apparently decreed, every room needs a pop of yellow. Martha was right. These are STUNNING in person. Rich colors, beautiful texture, and they somehow make my formerly rage-inducing hallway closet look artsy and intentional instead of “basic contractor despair.”
Bonus points: these are one of the only recycled sari silk curtain sets I found that mostly stick to a color theme. Every other set I looked at seemed to say, “What if confetti had a nervous breakdown?” These are colorful without looking like a circus tent lost a custody battle.
Shipping took forever, but I believe they come from India, so fair enough. Also apparently I ordered them just before they stopped shipping to my location, which makes me feel like I survived the Hunger Games of curtain purchasing. Worth it!!
Sari Doorway Curtai
Beautiful orange mix doorway curtain. Extra bonus was the bells on the bottom that make it jingle. I have a microcamper and I am going to put it up alongside my sliding door. Very pleased. Well made and silk.
These were exactly what I needed for our accent window. The colors and build quality are excellent, and the material is perfectly light, allowing the right amount of light through—a huge plus for our bedroom.
The only significant drawback was the initial packaging and product odor. The curtains arrived with a very strong, persistent spice smell. I had to wash them three times and even added an essence oil to the detergent to clear the scent.
The washing effort aside, the size was perfect, and the final result is a lovely, light, and airy accent piece.
These curtains are stunningly beautiful! They were a steal at this cost! Totally worth the money I paid. The sari material is very vibrant, hangs beautifully, sways gently when blown by a fan, and were incredibly easy to hang on a rod. The colors of the panels are even more varied and bright in person. The metal bells at the bottom of the curtains took them to a whole new level of charm. The tiny bells also probable helped to weight down the panels ensuring they hung beautifully. I bought these for my daughter’s college dorm room before she moved in (before we saw the space). Unfortunately, the curtains did not fit the awkward space provided as her “closet”. So I had to return them. Mango-gifts was very gracious and easy to work with by providing me with a refund. I would buy these again in a heartbeat though if the need for such a curtain were to arise again. Don’t hesitate to to purchase these curtains. You will not be disappointed by their beauty or the customer service you receive.
Smelled funny so I. didn’t untie, I put. into large bowl with dishwashing detergent and gave a wash by hand.
Was it the dye or was it musty, it didn’t matter because smell vanished after that!
Hung a good 6 inches above door.
some of the strands still touched ground, so I did a twice through tie on the end of those strands.
Some of the strands do not hang as well without the bells, so I am going to tie other weights/bells to those strands.
Husband liked them and thought they were nice, told me several times.
We do not like to close our door when it is too warm out, and this allows airflow while giving us decent privacy.
Gorgeous product! We are using it as a doorway curtain and it’s stunning and so unique! The bells are a nice touch, we were a little worried they would be too loud when our cats and dogs went back and forth, but they are really soft and subtle sounding, really perfect! Worth every penny!! Nice and light, but hang beautifully.
Uniquely Beautiful
My new door hanging arrived quickly and safely. I wasn’t ready to hang it for a few weeks then once I hung the saris they fell without wrinkles-bells are sewn onto the bottom of several strips. The colours are bright and create a unique door covert for my en-suite. I removed the en-suite but still wanted privacy. These sari strips add privacy yet still allow light from my bedroom through and as the strips flow when I move past them I can’t help but think of all the hands these strips have passed through, all the women who walked around wearing these saris. I love this sari hanging and highly recommend this seller and this product.
