Impressively Stable and High-Capacity Garden Hose Stand
Finding a garden hose holder that doesn’t tip over under the weight of a heavy, water-filled hose can be a challenge, but this freestanding unit is truly “rock solid.” It’s a beautiful addition to the yard that balances a decorative aesthetic with heavy-duty functionality.
Design and Assembly
The assembly process was refreshingly straightforward. It took less than 15 minutes to put together, and I was pleased to find that it came with all the necessary hardware—including the Allen key and wrench—so there was no need to dig through my own toolbox.
The finish is a lovely earthy bronze tone that looks high-end and does a great job of hiding the inevitable splashes of dirt and dust that come with yard work. The metal feels substantial, and the welds appear durable enough to handle being outdoors year-round.
Installation and Stability
What I love most about this holder is how stable it is once it’s in the ground.

Adequately capable
This comes with an allen key and wrench to assemble but to speed things up I used my drill with an allen key bit. That slashed the assembly down to less than 5 minutes where others have said the manual tools took ~15. The nuts are not locking so they include washers. I see these coming apart as washers do not add any holding power. The hose holder comes in a bunch of pieces, the top array is preassembled, as is the bottom, then you have to connect the 2 middle parts. The bottom has spikes and it did slide into my gravelly soil without any difficulty and held it’s ground fairly well. The product mentions being able to hold up to 160′ of hose but that is only going to be with really thin hose. A thick, heavy duty hose of 160′ is going to be way larger than the reel of this would allow. Overall, the product is fine but not exceptional.
I bought two of these and I love how simple they are but still stylish. They’re quite sturdy and very easy to put together. The stakes at the base are great because you don’t have to drill into your house and you don’t have a bulky box that’s an eyesore. So far, they seem resistant to the weather and haven’t faded or shown signs of rusting. I would definitely buy again.
This product is sturdy and is holding my 100 foot garden hose quite easily. I’ve had the holder for almost 2 months now and it’s still going strong. All you have to do is slide it in the ground to install. Simple and worth the money.

We had the chance to review this earlier. That was in color brown. This is green — somehow, I like this color more.
Last time I had a quick look at the manual then set it aside and went ahead — super easy/very intuitive to assemble.
This time I did not even look at the manual. I wanted to create a pictures-only based album/guide for all those who may read this so that they can figure out just by looking at these pictures — what is there and how it intuitively comes together. If you may just count the shining hardware pieces, that may be all that you may need.
Everything is sturdy and built to last.
A detailed examination from top to bottom tells me that the manufacturing process is highly mature and quality control is high.
The paint is powder-baked and perfect.
All nuts, bolts, and washers are stainless steel. Perfect.
The steel square tubes that make up most of the structure did not betray a single point of irregularity. Perfect.
No burrs anywhere. Perfect.
The top arch pieces are perfect in length, alignment, and welding marks. Excellent.
The reduction of pipe width at the lower end of the legs so that these go into the next pipe leg is uniform and consistent. Perfect.
The base that has the spikes that go into the ground — perfect round rods with exactly alike spikes, all covered with the exact length of clear plastic protective pipe for the journey and the assembly — perfect.
All joint holes were perfectly aligned — I did not need to play with the bolts to reach the other side.
The length of the bolts was perfect — long enough to cross the joints, and just enough length for the screws to be tightened perfectly — therefore, a quick assembly.
The single smaller length square pipe that holds the spikes part to each other has welded nuts inside — perfectly welded.
I took pictures of the larger parts and hardware types and their count. When the assembly is done, you will have spare one long and one short screw and a washer — they remembered people like me — LOL!
To insert this into the ground, I would suggest that you water the spot to the depth of the spikes, insert it, and let it dry out. Here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, after the incessant snowfalls, we now have near incessant rains — perfect.
To push this into the ground, for the last one I took a 2×4, placed it on top of the flat part of the frame just above the spikes and slowly hammered the wood piece. This way I avoided the hammer touching the metal pipe and distributed the force from the hammer to a much larger area of the frame.
I will post the new one’s installation video once I have settled on many things new this year — lots of pipes, water timers, sprinklers of all kinds, and drip irrigation. I have to maintain three lawns, flowering plants along 300 feet of fences, strawberry patches everywhere.
I believe that I can optimize the whole set of processes with these tools and get greater results with far lesser time every day.
This pipe hanger/holder will be an important component in the design and implementation of my ongoing gardening activities.
Hose Stand that Requires Assembly
Warning: Assembly required!
It’s not terrible that the hose stand requires assembly, but the posting is sort of misleading as it only says “tighten screws for setup.” No, you have to completely assemble the whole stand when you receive it, not just tighten the screws!
Also, the posting says the holder is black metal. It is not, it’s green like the photos.
Assembly isn’t too hard, but the instructions are terrible. You really just have to wing it, which isn’t bad, but there’s a horizontal bar that’s not immediately obvious – so remember to look at the photos.
Once assembled, the legs…wiggle. No matter how much you tighten the nuts/bolts, they will never be tight enough to not wiggle.
On a positive note, the stand seems to be quite durable. It’s made of decently heavy steel bars. And the bottom four legs have spikes on the end so you can easily push it into the ground. The part of the stand that holds the hose is quite big and can definitely hold a decent amount of hose. Not sure if it could hold 160′ worth of hose, but 75′-100′ shouldn’t be an issue.
I put the hose stand by a faucet that’s on a cement deck. There’s no where near this faucet where I could push the stand into soil. However, I was happy to find that it could still stand up nicely while leaning against a fence. Not sure if that’ll work long-term, but I’m going to try it out. (Worst case scenario I can use zip ties to attach the stand to the fence posts.)
Solid, No-Nonsense Hose Holder That Does the Job Righ
I haven’t been able to put this hose holder into service yet as the ground here is still frozen solid and there’s a good half foot of snow over the spot where it’ll go. But I’ve unpacked it, looked it over closely, and I’m impressed. The metal is thick and sturdy, not the kind that bends if you lean on it. The black powder coating looks durable and should hold up well against rust once it’s standing out in the weather.
Assembly was straightforward and didn’t take long using the included Allen key and wrench. The pieces fit snugly, and all the hardware was in the box with no stripped threads or missing screws. It feels like it’ll handle a full-length hose without wobbling over or sagging. The bottom of the holder inserts 7 1/2 inches into the ground via sharpened feet and the part that is above ground reaches 34 inches high. According to the specs, it’s rated for 160 feet of hose, and judging by the build, I believe it.
What really stood out, though, was how responsive the company was when I ran into a small issue. I reached out, and they didn’t waste any time getting back to me. They were polite, quick to make it right, and made sure I was completely satisfied before closing the loop, something that’s getting rarer these days.
Once the snow melts, this stand will replace the plastic reel I’ve been fighting with for years. All in all, I’m very happy with the quality and the way the company stands behind their products. Based on what I’ve seen so far, I expect it to serve me well for many summers ahead.
