Test fountain pens before regular use

The Hobonichi Techo’s Tomoe River / Tomoe River S paper is designed to prevent bleed-through, but some fountain pens and water-based ink pens are not compatible with this paper. When switching to a new pen, we recommend testing the pen somewhere in the book, such as the back memo pages, to see if the ink bleeds through or takes an especially long time to dry.

This planner is exactly what I wanted out of a planner. With the three different calendar types, I am able to plan finances monthly, exercise, health, and meals weekly, and daily agendas and notes. I love the feel of the paper, especially with the right pen (I use Tumi gel) and the overall dotted design letting me write big and small without the anxiety of crossing lines. I’ve been buying these for years and will continue to do so!

Among my top 2 companies for Planners
I love Japanese planners and the paper they use in them . Hobonichi is among my top two Japanese planner companies. The paper is great and no ghosting on the backside of paper.

Golden Review Award: 1 From Our UsersBest size for my needs!!!
I CAN’T emphasize how happy I am with this notebook. I have the weekly and the A6 and they are great for what I use them for but I needed more room for journaling and the A6 was a little too tight. This is the perfect size. (If only there was an in between. HA HA HA!

The notebook came earlier than expected which was a nice surprise for people like me that are absolutely impatient to get a new journal! Packed well and all that jazz. Once the year is up, I might get another or go in with the A5 yearly. I kind of am enjoying carrying this size though.

Bonus: This size fits perfectly in the covers I used to use for my other non Hobo journals like my Scribbles that Matter, Leichtrum, etc. Nice to not have to splurge on a new cover. I do RECOMMEND getting a cover since the original ones are pretty lightweight.

DO KNOW: The inside is in JAPANESE. But if you don’t really care about the quote on the bottom of the dailies or the pages in the back, the rest is pretty self explanatory 🙂 Plus you will learn some Japanese calendar days! 😉

I have enjoyed the Hobonichi Techo cousin Jul-Dec. This is my first Hobonichi Techo. I love the size and the quality of the paper. I am using it for appointments and a journal.

    Beautiful paper to write o
    Best diary I’ve ever had.

I have struggled over the years to have a diary and use it- I need one to keep on top of dates and stuff and find having a hard copy the best solution for me.

But I’ve never found a diary that could be both an overview of the month, week and then a detail of the day ahead. This is it!

It is the only diary that I want to fill in. It doesn’t feel like a chore.

The half year is also perfect for me as the diary is so light and less intimidating. My writing is not neat at all but the small squares seem to help me write more aesthetically pleasing – I can actually read my own writing.

The quality of the very thin paper is beautiful. I use the Sakura Pigma : manga, micron 05 and office set. None bleed through at all to the other page.

I will definitely be using this diary again in the future.

Yes it is more expensive than my previous diaries but I feel it is definitely worth it for the quality and the positive writing experience it offers.
