If you’re preparing homemade baby food, this machine is an absolute game changer. I already owned a similar appliance, but this version immediately impressed me because it includes a stainless steel steaming basket instead of plastic. That was a huge advantage for me, especially when cooking food at higher temperatures. The entire process feels cleaner, more efficient, and thoughtfully designed.
What I love most is that it simplifies multiple steps into one workflow. You simply add water, steam the food according to the recommended cooking times, transfer it into the blending container, and within minutes you have perfectly smooth homemade pures. It saves an incredible amount of time, keeps cleanup to a minimum, and makes preparing fresh meals for my baby so much easier. Since I now have two machines, I can even prepare multiple foods at once, which has made meal prep much more productive.
The controls are intuitive, the machine stores easily without taking up much space, and the overall build quality feels excellent. This Grownsy Baby Food Maker will be my new best friend. It came at the perfect time to transition my youngest to solids. Before, I used a blender cup, but this is so much easier!
Where do I begin with all of the easy to use parts and nifty features?
It purees pretty much anything you throw into it, even stuff that hasn’t been steamed.
It steams all kinds of foods in a jiff, making that aspect of meal prep SO much easier!
It’s super easy to clean, with a removable blade.
It feels to be made of durable materials that will last many years.
It’s relatively small and compact, and won’t take up too much room regardless of whether it’s on the counter or in your cabinet.
My only qualm is that the top isn’t watertight. If you have something very splashy, or if you fill it up too far, it will splatter out of the vents on the top.
Just make sure you rinse things afterwards, and this baby food maker will be your biggest help during every baby meal!
I love this baby food maker!
Since my son has started solids, I have enjoyed introducing him to new fruits, vegetables, and combinations instead of relying only on store bought pures. This baby food maker has made that process much simpler because everything happens in one machine. I can steam and blend without dirtying multiple pots, pans, or appliances, which is a huge help on busy days.
The automatic steam and blend cycle takes most of the work out of meal prep. I simply chop the ingredients into smaller pieces, add them to the basket, and let the machine do the rest. When I want a different texture as my son gets older, I can switch to the manual blend function and make the pure as smooth or chunky as needed. The machine also includes sterilizing and self cleaning functions, making it even more convenient for everyday use.
I also appreciate that it is not limited to fruits and vegetables. It handles meats as well, which makes it easy to prepare balanced meals instead of buying multiple jars of baby food. Making homemade food lets me control exactly what goes into each batch without unnecessary additives or extra salt and sugar.
Cleanup has been easier than I expected. The bowl is wide enough that I can easily reach inside, and the self cleaning feature helps loosen anything left behind before washing. It saves time, especially when I am trying to prepare food while keeping up with an active baby.
This is one of those baby products that I can see getting plenty of use throughout the different stages of starting solids. It makes homemade baby food feel much less intimidating, keeps meal prep simple, and encourages me to offer my son a wider variety of fresh foods. If you have been considering making your own baby food but were worried it would take too much time, this machine makes the process surprisingly easy.
For the past 7 months, we’ve been using lots of Grownsy products, and all of them have been excellent, but this particular baby food maker is awesome. Our neighbor loaned us their baby food maker, a pricey model that costs quite a bit more than the Grownsy model. The quality difference between the Grownsy’s model and the other brand is remarkable – notice the photo comparison. The Grownsy Baby Food Maker is seriously a step far above the competition and costs less. It is also completely stainless steel whereas the other brand is using plastic. I do not want to steam or boil my daughter’s food in a tub made of plastic.
Pros: We just started setting this up and the instruction manual is great and the food cookbook is awesome. It’s got 15 minute recipes and even 30 minute recipes that can be used for the whole family. We’re gonna test it out tomorrow but already we can tell that this is going to be an integral part of our parenting and feeding our daughter for the foreseeable future. With the sheer quantity of organic foods we can process with this, we’ll save a small fortune on jarred baby food and know exactly what our daughter is eating. This is great!
Con- For my European or Asian compadres or American Ex-pats living overseas- this particular model is using only 120V and will not work on 220V without a converter.
Amazing
This is the best thing ever when you have a baby starting to eat solids. It does everything all in one. Before this I was spending so much time steaming in a pot and then pureeing. Washing so many dishes. The automatic steam and blend feature makes meal prep so much easier.
I like the versatility as you can use this for fruit, vegetable and meat. Cleanup is easy and a lot less dishes than not having an all-in-one machine. There is also a self-cleaning feature if you wanted to use that.
Overall, this product is good. Quality has a nice appearance and seems like it will hold up well over time. Definitely a great product to have when feeding a baby. Purees especially if you have more than one baby.
This has been a staple in my household since my son has started eating solid food. The quality is amazing, I love the stainless steel steaming basket, it gives me reassurance that my baby is not being exposed to microplastics. It’s easy to clean, saves me LOTS of time, and has made making pures for my son super fun. The only complaint is that it’s really noisy so I can’t really use it if my baby is asleep. Other than that, we love absolutely everything about this product and highly recommend it to any parent out there that is starting their infant on solids!
I have the grownsy bottle warmer, so decided to try this baby food maker from a trusted brand. Well, it did not disappoint! First off, it’s a beautiful appliance! The color is stunning and has a shine to it that makes it look very high end. You can tell that it’s made well and quality materials. It also has a pretty small footprint on the counter, and I was surprised at how compact it is. Added plus!
For use, it has minimal settings which I actually really like. I hate when kitchen gadgets get over complicated! This one is easy to operate and love the self clean and sanitize capabilities. Also love the stainless steel material to protect against plastic leeching with hot food. To be able to steam and blend all in one makes this product really helpful. I also really enjoy the cookbook booklet it came with. It’s actually a very helpful guide and has a lot of very useful information on introducing food to baby, allergens, ect.
Lastly, this product is easy to clean with the self cleaning modes and wide openings. There aren’t little crevices for food to get trapped in. Overall a great quality product!
Absolutely love this device. I had resisted getting a baby food maker for months because I heard from friends that it wasn’t worth it since babies are only in this phase of transitioning to solids for a few months. So I didn’t buy one and instead just steamed things on my stove and was using a magic bullet to blend them. But the magic bullet wasn’t doing a great job, so I ended up getting this device, and it has been a game changer. The blender is very good, much better than our magic bullet. It blends things so fast and evenly. There are two blending settings – manual, where you hold it until food reaches the desired consistency, or an auto blend function, which I haven’t used because it blends your mix into very smooth consistency, but my son is already one, so he doesn’t need that anymore. I like that you can steam the food in a stainless steel cup so no concerns about plastic leaching, and then you can directly pour the steamed food into the collection cup to blend. It’s nice that it’s the same collection cup that caught the steaming water, so it’s just one less thing to clean. The device is easy to use, with only 4 buttons – steam (you can press it multiple times to set your time for steaming), sterilize, manual blend, and auto blend. It makes food prep for my son fun, and much more convenient than what I was doing before.
