I picked these up mainly for added safety on our wooden stairs since we have a little one starting to climb up and down more often. Overall, they’ve been a helpful addition.
The grip on the underside is strong and they stick well once applied. Installation was straightforward with no tools needed, and they stayed in place without shifting so far. The surface feels soft underfoot, which is nice for both comfort and reducing noise when walking up and down the stairs.
In terms of size, they did run a bit small for my staircase, so coverage wasn’t as full as I initially expected. That’s something to double-check depending on your stair dimensions before ordering.
The material feels decent quality and the texture is comfortable, especially for barefoot use. It also gives a bit more confidence when the baby is climbing, which was my main reason for getting them in the first place.
Overall, a bit on the pricier side for a 4-pack, but the grip, softness, and added safety make it useful for households with kids or pets.
The material is impressively thick and soft, which makes the stairs feel much more comfortable underfoot. They also look nice once installed — the color is neutral and blends well with wood flooring without looking cheap. Compared to a lot of thin, flimsy stair treads online, these feel much more substantial and cushioned.
However, there are a few downsides that kept me from giving them 5 stars. The biggest issue for me is the backing. Instead of having a standard non-slip rubber backing like many other stair treads, these come with double-sided sticky tape attached to the back. I really don’t like this installation method. I can’t imagine never needing to remove and wash stair treads, especially in a busy household, and adhesive tape makes that much more complicated. I’m also concerned the tape will eventually leave sticky residue on the wood stairs, which is something I specifically wanted to avoid.
Another issue is that the treads are a little smaller than expected. They cover less of the stair than I would have liked, and because the material is so thick, some of the edges don’t lay perfectly flat against the stairs. It’s not terrible, but it does make them look slightly uneven in places.
Overall, these are soft, comfortable, and attractive stair treads with a nice color and quality feel, but the adhesive backing and smaller size make them less practical than I hoped. If you don’t mind the sticky tape installation, they may work great for you, but personally I would have preferred a simple non-slip backing instead.
