I need to start by saying that I never liked the Perfect Putting Mat. I’m the person wondering why the thing costs $200 and is the value prop there.
Bring on the Chinese knock off! I was skeptical at first, and I received this at a good price via Amazon Deals day… so I figured why not.
1. It rolls straight. I haven’t had any issues with flattening the mat.
2. The quality is surprisingly good given the price.
3. Does it make you better? If you know how to practice.
I’m a 2 index. If I had to rank my weakest skill or where I lose strokes it’s putting. I have always struggled translating putting practice at home to the golf course. I was very intentional about my putting practice using this mat. It provides a guideline so you KNOW when you hit a good end to end roll. It’s the same thing as drawing a chalk line on a practice green. I think there are many ways to putt and everyone is different. My technique involves using my arms and hands to FEEL the putter and putter face. I lock in my setup, I lock in my hand and arm position, and more importantly I focus on the feeling of hitting that end to end putt. This has worked for me to translate what I’m doing at home to the golf course.
There are many options out there but I LOVE THIS!
Bought this for my son for Christmas, and it’s been a huge hit! He and his older brother use it all the time. The auto ball return keeps things moving so he can practice without interruption. The mat is good quality and lies flat, and the frame feels sturdy and well-built.
Best part—it’s a fun way to keep him off screens and doing something active. Great quality, easy to set up, and works perfectly indoors or outside.

Love the putting surface — has a true roll feel which is hard to evoke on any synthetic surface. I gave less than 5 stars as there are some curls & wrinkles at the far end of the mat. Per the manufacturer instructions, these can be removed with a steamer or iron, so once I do that and it works, I’ll upgrade to 5 stars. Overall a fun item for my office to practice my putting between meetings!
