I am very pleased with these low voltage lights. The quality feels solid. I like the flexibility of putting in what bulb I want. I am using 6.5w LED bulbs that are 3000K color temperature. I started with a 12 pack but added 4 more to include some on trees. I’m getting great feedback from the neighbors.
The light fixture quality is almost excellent, the wire lead was only 36″ but the product details say it’s 72″.
The problem with these lights is that the cowl (the 2nd half that needs to be removed to replace the bulb) is keyed to get off/on. The fit is very tight but one would need to remove the fixture from the ground to swap out the bulbs.
I didn’t try to add silicone to help this problem, but one could try this, also two white dots of paint on the bottom of the fixture where the cowl separates from the fixture would help to insure you are in the “keyed” area to remove the cowl.
I returned the light fixture, because I need 12-14 of these for my project and didn’t want to hassle with fixing a problem with them.
I’ve put in a lot of landscape lighting over the years and was impressed with the quality of the uplights. The lights are very well made (heavy duty) and provide excellent value for the money. The removable top half of the lights seal well (the rubber seal comes per-lubricated with silicone to repel moisture), but also are easy to remove and install the bulbs. The cord length is generous enough to allow for repositioning. The color is true to what is advertised in the picture. I was so impressed I purchased them 3 more times.
Excellent quality! Easy to install = make sure you order the set WITH bulbs. These lights are bright and our back yard looks awesome. Easy to angle in the position you want it to shine. Ordered 2 and then liked them so much ordered 4 more. Excellent value.
I’ve got a pretty extensive landscape lighting system. Had to redo 1 of my zones and decided to switch out all the spot lights in that zone with these. I used 13 of them in that zone. These are perfectly manufactured, and well designed. As long as installed as “up lights” they are very nicely weather proofed. Impeccable design and manufacture. I would not install ANY of these pointing down from trees, as they would eventually leak moisture in where the cable enters, and they are otherwise sealed, so they would fill with water.
Again, absolutely impeccable construction and looks. Super nice, well priced, easy to install. Takes a MR16 bulb, and that bulb is clamped into its holder when installed so it doesn’t get knocked loose. Then the whole assembly seals with a rubber seal, with an inverted lens over the top. Rock solid!! No bugs, no water, no dirt, made out of brass. The aluminum ones you can buy at the box stores won’t last 1/10 as long as these will.
I recently purchased on Amazon the Gardencoin landscape spotlight. Our property has yard lights, but we discovered the existing product by another manufacturer was not as good a quality. in addition, the new Gardencoin landscape spotlight is higher grade rust free metal components, the light reflect on yard objects farther, and brighter then any other yard lights we use. A resident of Hawaii we have many palm tree that the new light reaches and stays lit until dawn, reflects light of many ground decoration objects, and more. We are convinced that this company deserves to have our purchase unconditionally, since there yard light is so much higher and brighter quality. We strongly recommend that others check out this Gardencoin product and make the purchase that we believe you will never regret!!
These fixtures feel like they are solid brass. They have a nice weight, color and cord length. Consider purchasing a higher lumen lightbulb if you want the ultimate lighting performance. It is worth the extra couple of dollars to illuminate your items of focus.
Quality produc
This is a great product for the price point compared to what you will find in retail stores.
Yes, they can be hard to open to install or replace bulbs, but this is because it is well-sealed and waterproof with 2 o-rings.
A key feature that is an improvement over my old fixtures is the retaining clip for the bulbs. Without the retaining clips, bulbs will come lose over time or when bumped and come out of the base.
Does not come with bulbs which is OK for me because I prefer to choose my own bulbs and color. I also purchased the Simba MR16 5W GU5.3 2700K bulbs to go with these.
I would have preferred the stakes to be aluminum instead of plastic, but while plastic, the stakes are much larger than typical stakes so hopefully will be durable. Note – Stakes can be a little difficult to thread onto the light so you have to be careful to avoid cross-threading.
Overall very happy with these lights.
