Great, long T shirt, deep cut V neck
I have been searching for a LONG T-shirt with a deep cut V neck (that would not show under an open neck shirt).
This is great on both counts. It is extra long so it wont ride up or pull out of waist band, and the neck is spot on.
Sizing is good. Material is a little thinner than expected but still a decent quality.
I need to see how these wash, but if they don’t shrink, I shall be back for more!
Great t-shi
I have tried, with no success to find T shirts that were tailored properly and has a decent V neck. I needed to stay with company that are American and know haw Americans are built. Fruit of the Loom nailed this product. I had to pay more, but these shirts are great. Good fit and good color.
I bought these because my old undershirts were riding up and getting clammy under polos, especially down here in Florida. I travel a lot for work and needed something light, breathable, tag-free, and long enough to stay tucked on planes and in meetings. My expectations were basic: soft cotton, doesn’t turn into a crop top after one wash, and actually wicks sweat instead of just holding it. Didn’t expect luxury, just a dependable daily undershirt.
I’ve been wearing the 6-pack for a week straight. That means under button-downs at the office, as a sleep shirt in the hotel, and on a 5-hour layover in Orlando where it was 90 and muggy. Washed them twice already — cold water, tumble low — because I’m hard on undershirts.
What they got right
Comfort: They’re soft out of the bag and stay soft after washing. Tag-free is a real thing; no itchy neck. The cotton is lightweight and breathable, which matters when you’re walking from AC to heat to AC. I noticed less swamp-back compared to my older, heavier shirts.
Fit/length: These are cut longer than a regular tee. I’m 6’0″ and they stay tucked when I bend over or reach for an overhead bin. Guys mention the tall sizes work well too. Sleeves have a slight taper so they don’t bunch under a dress shirt.
Moisture wicking: It’s not like high-tech gym fabric, but for cotton they do okay. I didn’t feel soaked after walking outside. One reviewer in Miami said they’re “perfect” for PT and workouts in heat, and I get why.
Value: You get 6 for what one “premium” undershirt costs. Most buyers call them “worth the price” and “great affordable undershirts”. For daily rotation, that math works.
Where they fall short
Thickness: These are thin. Some people like that — keeps you cooler — but don’t expect heavyweight cotton. If you want it to hide chest hair or nipples, it won’t. A few reviews call them “very thin”.
Shrinkage: This is the big one. Experiences are all over the place. Some say minimal shrinkage, others say they shrunk a lot, especially length. Mine shrank a bit on the first wash but are still long enough. If you’re between sizes, order up. I went with my normal L and they’re fine, but XL would’ve been safer.
Durability/consistency: Most hold up well wash after wash. But a few longtime buyers say quality is “hit or miss” now, sometimes thinner than they used to be.
Practical uses
– Daily undershirt under polos/button-downs — stays tucked, no collar peek thanks to the V-neck
– Travel layer: packs light, dries overnight in a hotel sink
– Lounge/sleep shirt — soft enough and the V doesn’t choke
– Not for gym-only: they’ll work in a pinch, but they’re not performance wear
Pros
– Soft, breathable cotton that’s actually comfortable in heat
– Tag-free and no-ride-up cut; stays tucked all day
– V-neck disappears under open collars
– Good value for a multi-pack; lasts months with regular rotation
– Tall sizes available if you need extra length
Cons
– Thin material — see-through if wet and not much coverage
– Shrinkage is inconsistent; buy one size up to be safe
– Quality can vary bag to bag per longtime buyers
– Not heavy-duty; seams are basic, so don’t expect 5-year lifespan
Did they meet expectations?
Mostly, yes. I wanted a cool, long, cheap undershirt that won’t itch or untuck, and that’s what I got. They’re not magic sweat-proof armor, and the thinness took a day to get used to. But for $3–4 each, I can live with sizing up and replacing them every year. If you need bulletproof cotton or zero shrink ever, you’ll be frustrated. If you just need a reliable daily V-neck in hot weather, these do the job.
Ordered these and they came in just the clear pkg they are pkg in. You could see what they are. Should have been packaged in an outer amazon bag. As the manufacturers pkg wasnt sealed well and it rained. They were wet and had to wash instantly. If we wouldn’t have needed them as quickly as we did, I would’ve returned them. Just ask for them to be packaged as a gift and you’ll be fine. Then you’ll get them in either an amazon box or
bag. Shirt quality was fine. Just disappointed in how they were delivered.
Perfect fit for an undershirt under my button down dress shirts. I used to wear Hanes exclusively, but I find these “stay tucked” versions from FOTL are longer in length which keeps them from sliding up during the day. As a 175 lb man who is 6′ tall with an athletic build, the medium size fits me comfortably snug and the sleeves are just short enough that they don’t poke out of the sleeves of my polos.
SOFT – Perfect Fit – the Highest of Quality – These great tshirts will last 10 years. Last summer I accidentally ordered the H@ynes brand. The “H” brand was so thin & so uncomfortable they felt like partial paper. These FRUIT OF THE LOOM are so perfect in every way. I hope they never change the quality or soft comfort.
