Great Worm Bin Great Customer Service
This worm bin is a GREAT starter kit, comes with all you need to get vermicomposting! Additionally, the customer service is TOP NOTCH. I had a small issue with my soil meter which the graciously helped to resolve.
I got it set up about 5 days ago, works fine, the worms look healthy in there, hasn’t got anything yet, I fed them some lettuce, it lasts for a while, easy to set up, just kind of smaller than I thought, but I think it’s good size, I dug the worms from my backyard, it’s hard find them at one time.
Awesome especially compared to other brands
I love it ! It is big enough for 2-3 people and it works perfectly. I have another one and I can compare.
The differences between the other one are:
– the size is really good for an household
– the number of bins allows to last an entire winter if you have a summer bin outside
– the inner cloth prevents a lot of worms and compost to fall in base. I would suggest to tape it outside to make sure it does not fall inside.
– the little faucet really works to drain liquids. My other one cannot pass the water+compost that falls in the base.

Great Starter Worm Composting Ki
This is a nice starter kit for vermicomposting. The set includes most of the essentials: trays, a collection spout, tools, a thermometer, and starter bedding. Assembly was straightforward, and the system looks neat and well organized.
I like that the modular design doesn’t take up too much space and allows you to expand the composting process gradually as needed.
The only thing to keep in mind is that worms are not included and need to be purchased separately. Other than that, the kit is ready to use and works as expected. It’s a good option for anyone who wants to start making compost at home
Edit Oct 11, 2025: I’m increasing the rating because I’ve had zero escaped worms since that first day. I think the worms were restless because of the shipping (the instructions from the worm company said they might be, and that seems to be true).
My other criticisms hold but I plan to keep the bin since the worms are staying contained. Even in the last bin some occasionally got out (usually they fell out of the lid while I added food).
I plan to drill a hole and bolt on a knob on the lid. I’ll also need to raise up the box to accommodate a container to catch the tea. (I always left the spigot open. Otherwise the liquid builds up and I would end up with dead worms and a disgusting mess). So I’ll have to figure out something to keep it a 6 or so inches off the ground.

I was replacing my previous bin which gave out after years of use. I was attracted by the cute look of this one. It’s cute and fairly sturdy but it’s not functional at all.
– It’s small
– Doesn’t seal and worms escape from the sides and the lid
– Doesn’t have enough clearance to collect the liquid at the bottom
– The lid knob is a bad shape, slippery, and impossible to grip. I’ve dropped it 100% of the times I’ve lifted it.
That’s really all you need to know to know this doesn’t work.
The soil meter is interesting and I love the instruction manual which is thoughtfully laminated. Some words are misspelled (it’s paper not papper) but the content is great.
The bin just doesn’t work. I’ve had the worms less than 12 hours and I’ve already picked up at least 20 off the floor, stretched out and hard as rocks.
Sometimes they come to life if you peel them up carefully enough but mostly they’re just worm food.
I did add a banana to ensure they’d have food and not want to escape but the bin is just not well designed and doesn’t seal.
See pictures of the low lip of the lid, gaps in the bin (yes I followed the directions and alternated the sides), and lack of clearance for the cup (for any cup).
If you like worms all over your floor, both from escaping and dropping the lid, get this one. If not, keep shopping.
My worms are very happy now
Been using this system for a while now and my worms love it. So much easier to control moisture and feedings. Harvesting the castings is a breeze now. Wish I bought it sooner. Good quality and sturdy.
Happy buyer - nice composte
The composer is very well built. Especially the added equipment is very well worth buying on its own. I didn’t do my full research before buying and was surprised to see all the extra stuff. Still learning about the worm composting world but buying this composer is a good start.
Bought this to start my red wiggler worm. I have been doing a small backyard vegetable garden and this year I am trying to focus on organic fertilizer, I have always thought to start the worm farm and this is my first try.
The bin itself comes with good instructions, I am mixing the coconut pit with egg cartons to balance the humidity. The bins have proper height to accommodate both base and food. It’s comes with everything I need (expect the worm ) which I bought online. Made of thick plastic, good for outdoor, just make sure it’s not on a direct sunlight.
