So this screws in and there is no leaks and I like the nozzle that comes with it. The hose seems durable and it is lightweight. I got the 25′ because I just need a hose to water my porch plants with. However, because this is a stainless steel hose, after you are done watering and you turn the water off at the spigot, you cannot empty the hose like you can with a vinyl or fabric or rubber hose. Once the water is turned off, that is it. You can’t get any more water to come out of the nozzle to empty out the hose. You have to take off the nozzle and hold the nozzle above your head and shake it to get some of the water out. I am sure there is still water sitting in the hose. This may not bother most people but that was the reason I took off 1 star. I can see that as leading to problems with the hose in the future. But then, it was only $20.
Updated on March 2025- still working as my back yard hose. Bought one a couple of years ago. I think this is the best expandable hose I’ve ever owned. I don’t receive any money or other payment to leave a sparkling review.
Another plus is that I don’t have to hold the nozzle to keep water flowing. Just turn nozzle to desired volume and I spray down the entire backyard rocks and turf to wash down the pee and poop smells.
Only issue is that I am finished spraying before I want to quit!
Not really an issue. Buying a 2nd bionic hose for the front now. My landscapers haven’t broken this hose yet and I had to replace the other expanding hoses every year. Stop looking for a better hose. You can thank me later!
Quality is so much better than the regular expanding hoses that the Tim The Tool Man Helper was hawking. Just get this hose!
It has its own adjustable or twisting watering valve on the end that I wasn’t sure if it would be a strong enough stream but WOW, I’m so happy I bought this hose!
I live in Phoenix and watch my water usage because we have a water shortage. Every few days , I pick up dog poop from the backyard rocks and fake grass. I want to spray down the entire yard to get rid of the poop and pee smells for my dog and to keep flies away. It would take a good 15 minutes to wash down the entire backyard with the other expanding hoses and the sprayer that came w/each one but this spray nozzle and hose cuts the time down to 2-3 minutes. The strong sprayer allows me to spray the farthest points of my yard without having to move back and forth.
It’s a water and time saver! I need two hoses but decided to see how this worked before buying the 2nd unit but I will be buying another. No worries about the expansion like the rest of the expansion hoses getting twisted or stuck on a pot, rock or decorative brick & flagstone.
Easy to wind up near the spigot. Don’t need to place it in a storage area or keep out of the sun like the usual expandable hoses.
The other expansion hoses were not meant for the Phoenix sun/heat or my landscapers who were using it incorrectly. not pulling the entire hose out before turning on the water. the other expansion hoses lasted about one season here but I’m working on the 2nd season w/this hose. (Update 3 years and still working perfectly.)
Highly recommend this hose especially if you are concerned about water use, sun/heat damaging, needing to pull hose out w/o kinks/knots before turning on water to prevent damage to expansion hoses and if you need/desire a lightweight water hose with fantastic nozzle sprayer! I have some issues w/using my hands, arms & needed a lightweight alternative.
Wasn’t sure if the metal hose would be too heavy for me to use for the 15-20 minutes the other hoses would take but it’s extremely lightweight & so quick/efficient to water down the entire backyard that I want to keep working but I’m done way before I’m tired. Has it all. No negatives w/this hose!

It’s driven over daily with no problems so far. Very impressed with it. Edited to say that I turned nozzle off today and can’t turn it back on. Nozzle failed so hose now just used for filling buckets. Return date has now passed too!
I love this hose and the sprayer head it comes with. After fighting with 100ft rubber hoses, this one is a such a relief. It’s super lightweight, doesn’t kink, and seems sturdy. I love that with the sprayer head I can get a soft but narrow spray or can adjust it to pressure wash or wide mist. It also has a toggle to adjust the pressure, which I use a lot when I want to leave it on a plant with a slow drip.
First thing you should know is how much I despise hoses, extension cords and cables. I’ve waited about a month before writing this review to see if the hose actually lasted. It has and I absolutely love it. Never, ever kinks. Not a drop of a leak. Extremely easy to move around and very lightweight. I use it at least 4x/week. I bought the seventy-five footer and I wish I would have ordered the 100′. I had a 50′ rubber hose that was junk and just barely fit in the hose container. You could fit 3 of these into the container (photo). It has a five year warranty. Hell, if it lasts a year, it’s worth the $50 I paid for it. Quality is excellent. Like I said, I’ve only had it a month. But believe me, it gets used. I’m impressed.
I have owned a steel hose before for over 10 years. I put inside for the winter storage. It sprung a leak around the connection, so I bought this one. Heavy duty, it doesn’t kink, I roll it up in a flower pot, coils very easy, very compact. Anyway, like it so far. I would recommend.
This is the third Bionic Steel Garden Hose that I have purchased from Amazon. I really like them. I have a large yard and have to put two together to reach the areas I need to hand water, like my parking strip and some bushes. For some reason I only had a secondary water spigot in my back yard. Works good, light weight, easy for a senior person to handle. Only bad thing is they only last about 2 years. This morning one strung a good leak, soaked me good. So, I ordered this one today and it arrived a few hours later and I’m ready to water again. I don’t know about that new nozzle, I’ll give it a try, for now the old one fits.
I had ordered a 100 Ft metal hose but it had no pressure at all. On sprinkle it would go about 6 ft only. So I returned and ordered this one and it is great Great GREAT!!! Love it. Would purchase again. Best hose I’ve ever owned. So much lighter. Doesn’t kink. Goes around anything with ease and so easy to roll up into a half pack milk crate. When I go to use it I just pick it up and start walking and it unrolls with ease.
