Amazing quality and customer service!
I purchased a set of six AOSU solar powered wifi cameras with base station in the Fall of 2025.Although setup was a breeze, I ran into a minor connection issue. The AOSU app let me call for tech support quite easily and I was very impressed with how fast and great their service was.
After a few months of use, I noticed that one of the cameras seemed to have a defective internal battery.I contacted AOSU tech support through the app and within three days I received a replacement camera.
I highly recommend these cameras as they were incredibly easy to install and setup without any wires and they perform amazingly well.They are a great addition to my previously purchased AOSU doorbell camera. My cameras and doorbell work on the same app so they are very easily accessed when there are alerts.
The price and quality of the AOSU products is excellent. The service I received from AOSU tech support was exceptional.I will definitely be buying their products again in the future.

My favorite feature is that the camera automatically moves to track a person. So if suspicious person walks off to the side, it will track them and not lose sight of them.
This camera kit all worked together out of the box with simple mounting and setup. Customer service has been very easy and helpful, warrantying a failed solar panel. The app occasionally needs to be restarted to get videos to load and I wish the motion detection worked out a bit further from the camera and over a wider viewing angle; the picture is fantastic and clear for a much longer distance than the motion detection range to initiate recording or motion tracking, which also works well once a moving object is acquired. Human ID has helped reduce false motion trips from grass, trees, and decorative spinners. Barring the solar charging issue, battery life has been fine even with the color vision and flood light enabled overnight, but even the IR night image on battery saver delivers a good IR image. Storage is plentiful to keep videos for much longer than necessary. A great kit value and easy wifi setup.
Just got mine delivered earlier today, and my first impression of the cameras are positive. All the tools necessary were included minus the drill and drill bit. Installation was simple and did not take much time around 15-30 minutes depending on handy skills. I really like the ease of connectivity to WiFi and the app is well made, smooth and haven’t ran into any bugs. In the app you have full control of the cameras moving it into any direction until you hit the limits but it has wide field of view. Default storage I believe is 32 gigs which more than enough storage to keep recordings. My only gripe about the camera is the motion doesn’t detect cars moving and once I installed the camera it failed to track me. I’ll do more testing later since it’s the first day I got it. Overall great camera and excellent quality video I was amazed on how clear the picture was. I would love to see more features added though. Oh also battery life seems good but we’ll see overtime and how well the solar panels work the sun is out.
I’ve had these for a year and 4 months now. I wanted to wait a year to review them, but went a bit over.
These are really good cameras. We’ve had record rainfall, a tornado and record high temps since I installed them and they are all working perfectly. I installed the free (available upon request) external solar panels on some of them and they stay at 100% charge. I’m not going to try telling you these cameras are perfect, but they really are great, for the following reasons.
1) Wireless range. I have the base unit in a cabinet under my TV with several other bases and a wireless gateway. In theory, this should dramatically cut down the distance that I can install the cameras from said base. I have 2 of the cameras over 100′ from the base, one hidden behind a metal shed, and they work fine. In bad weather I occasionally get a message on the one behind the shed that its signal is weak, but it still works fine.
2) Appearance. These are good looking cameras. They have blue lights that come on when they sense movement, which lets people know they’re being watched. If the color night vision is enabled, they have very bright LEDs that light the area up nicely when it’s dark out.
3) Function. I get near instant notifications on my phone when someone is approaching, although the ‘human detection’ could use some work. Still, I’d rather get excess notifications when deer walk though the gate than wonder if it’s always catching trespassers, so I’m OK with that.
4) Battery life. I used the 4 cameras in my kit with the built-in solar panels until the (upon request) external ones were delivered. (order them after delivery using the instructions in the box) and all 4 cameras stayed close to 100% charge, even the ones that didn’t have direct sunlight. I now have 3 of them on external panels and they always show 100%. The other camera is on the sunny side of the house and it doesn’t need one.
5) The app. It’s easy to use and actually works! (love when that happens). I added an Aosu doorbell (highly recommended) later on and it popped right up in the app beside the cameras. I can download videos to my phone with one touch and view recorded footage with no subscription.
6) Footage quality. I can read license plates (see below), tell who’s coming from a distance and see color video even at night. They are great cameras. Not perfect. Sometimes, if a car is driving too quickly, the license plate is blurred, but I work in security with cameras that cost over $3,000 each and they do the same thing…
The bad.
1) When automatically following someone / thing, the PTZ motion is jerky, not smooth. It’ll move a lot, stop, then move a lot again. It’s fine, the subject stays in frame, but it’s not a smooth movement. Also, in the fall, I had to reduce the sensitivity of 2 cameras as blowing leaves were triggering them.
2) The notifications. There may be a way to change this, I’m old and haven’t tried hard enough, but there are a lot of notifications when someone comes in the yard. At least one from each camera, usually 2 (coming and going), plus another blanket notification when the event is all over, to make sure you’re aware that the other eight notifications were noticed. Again, I’d rather have too many than not enough – nobody is coming onto the property unnoticed.
3) Adding cameras. I bought the 4 camera kit and would have to buy another kit and have another base station to add more cameras. I knew this going in, so I can’t complain. It would be nice if there was more expansion capability in the base unit, though.
That’s it. Buy these and a doorbell and know everything that’s going on outside, all the time.
Pros:
– Easy to set up. Cameras work well, and image is decent, but not “license-plate-clear” past maybe 30 feet in low light.
– App seems nice and easy to use also.
– Love the “no subscription required” event recording feature, and the remote live “PTZ” viewing.
– Unpowered battery life seems to be a couple/few days, which is decent.
– Cameras can run on Solar or USB C power (adapters not provided, only the cables).
Cons:
– Re: motion sensing – be sure to set each camera’s “Default View” so it can “see ’em coming a mile away”, because the camera has a 1-2 second delay between “sensing” and “acting”, meaning if one can run fast enough to beat that delay, the camera might miss him.
– “360 panning” is true, BUT be aware that when the camera hits “360”, it stops tracking and moving, until the object in question returns to view. If not, camera resets to its default position in 30 seconds. This means that camera placement must accommodate that weakness.
“Color Night Vision” means a LIGHT comes on, triggering the sensor to revert camera to color. It looks great, but if you don’t want a bright light coming on, then black-and-white night vision is all you get.
– Re: Subscription fees… Aosu sort of “hides” info about subscription plans until you actually get the app, sign in, and look at the deals, which is a bit shady. Also, it’s pricey if you opt for a “Plus” subcription, which goes up in price with EACH camera. A 5-cam subscription is like $280 per year.
– I bought a four-camera system, but they only offer a three- or a five-camera subscription. So they’ve either got you buying not enough or too much in some cases. Also, in order to control five cameras on the app, you need to buy ANOTHER Homebase, because each one apparently only accommodates four cameras unless you but the big 6-camera package with a bigger Homebase.
– ALSO, not all cameras go with all base srstions BE CAREFUL when buying, if you plan to add stuff later – be sure everything is compatible. VERY confusing.
So this is all kind of scrambled, perhaps on purpose to make you spend more money, which is obnoxious. Definitely not the cheapest service, but it does open up some cool features, if you got the money.
Overall, a good system, but they’re sneaky with the pricing, and there a few “buggers” to be accommodated in your settings/placement. Experimentation is in order. Took me 4 hours to settle on 4 good places/settings for the cameras, as the only way to know if the placement is good, is to install it and then find out. Very hard to hold the camera and test placement.
Bottom line, it’s a good system and app, BUT be aware of these weaknesses and check subscription pricing and component cross-compatibility before buying.
I never write reviews but I felt the need to do so for the Aosu solar wifi camera system. This system is super easy to setup, its performance has been top notch so far and the video quality is great (both day and night) for only being 2k. Some of our cameras are in somewhat shaded areas but they are continuously charged to 100%. We use this system in a pretty remote, wooded (and dark) location so that’s impressive. It is summer in the northeast so we’ll see what happens over the winter. It tracks people very well and we’ve gotten a lot of critter footage. It seems to differentiate between animals and people very well. Sometimes we wish it would track animals like it does people but we bought it for surveillance purposes not animal tracking. We didn’t have the opportunity or need to contact customer service so we can’t comment on that. If they are as helpful as others say, it’s just one more reason to purchase it. This is a great value for the price. Don’t hesitate…it’s a good one. Hopefully, it’ll stay that way over the winter too.
Excellent Outdoor Camera system. Very easy to install and I am not that techie. Great video quality in all types of lighting. Solar panels were great and cameras easily connect to home base. Love the app and options. Much much better than other system I was using – that rarely loaded
The quality is actually good, night vision itself is good and has the option to add illumination which is great, the speaker is loud enough and clear audio, has an alarm option that is also loud to scare someone or animal away, love these cameras, set up was fast and easy.
I am extremely impressed with this security camera system. From the moment I opened the box, the setup process was quick, simple, and very user-friendly. The cameras connected easily, and I had everything up and running in no time.
One of the standout features is the mobile app. It is by far one of the best security camera apps I have used. The interface is clean, responsive, and packed with useful features. My favorite feature is the ability to view all four cameras simultaneously on a single screen. Being able to monitor the front yard, backyard, driveway, and other areas of my property at the same time provides excellent situational awareness and peace of mind.
The motion tracking feature is another huge advantage. The cameras intelligently follow movement, making it much easier to see exactly what is happening instead of relying on a fixed view. Motion detection alerts are fast and reliable, keeping me informed whenever activity is detected around my property.
The video quality is excellent both during the day and at night. Images are sharp, clear, and detailed, allowing me to easily identify people, vehicles, and other activity. The night vision performance exceeded my expectations, providing bright and clear footage even in low-light conditions.
The two-way audio is also surprisingly crisp and clear. Conversations come through with excellent sound quality, making it easy to communicate with visitors or monitor activity around the home.
Overall, this system delivers everything I was looking for in a security camera setup: easy installation, an outstanding app, reliable motion detection and tracking, clear notifications, excellent audio quality, and impressive day and night video performance. It provides complete coverage of my property and gives me confidence that I won’t miss a moment.
