    Works for my small off-grid cabi
    I’m using this in a small off-grid cabin with 4 solar panel wattage of solar panels and a 24V battery bank. It runs my lights, small fridge, microwave oven, fan, router, and a few chargers without any problem.

    The display is useful because I can see what is going on with the solar input and battery. The manual could be clearer in some areas, but if you have some basic solar experience, setup is manageable. Good fit for a cabin or backup system, but I would not call it a whole-house inverter.

    I build non-grid tied, small solar systems for flexible use around the house, like for when our local power company shuts down the grid when the weather gets warm or breezy, calling it a “Public Safety Power Shutdown.” Which means since they spent their money paying off investors, they haven’t hardened their grid against causing massive fires.

    So customers need to be self sufficient to keep refrigerators and other needed electrical items running since the grid operator can’t be depended upon. Hence small non-grid tied systems which I can move where needed to keep things going, with batteries in the 200 – 900 amp hour range, depending on the need.

    Most of these systems run off only 1-2 solar panels, especially since the solar charge controllers I use can have a maximum panel input voltage in the 110-150 volt range.

    So I became worried when I saw in the marketing literature that this potentially-highly-capable hybrid inverter/charger required a minimum input voltage of 90 volts DC as a “Start Up Voltage”, or the minimum voltage required to initiate charging the attached batteries via the internal MPPT charge controller. That would require, at minimum, 3 each ’24 volt’ solar panels, which normally have a VOC as high as 40 volts DC. So you are talking about needing to purchase on the order of $600 worth of panels just to use this $360 hybrid solar inverter charger. Maybe not the best economy – at least for a small, non grid-tied solar system. Would make a lot more sense for a larger, maybe 8-10 panel roof mounted system.

    But maybe all is not lost. Documentation which comes with the unit specifies an input panel voltage in the range of 55-350 volts DC. Maybe this unit can operate on an input voltage below the 90 volts DC figure in the advertising materials – so would require only 2 panels for the system. A much easier small system to build.

    I’ll be building the system over the next couple of weeks, and hoping that that minimum 90 volts before the batteries will start being charged is an error or an old, superseded specification.

    I’m really looking forward to building a system based on this unit. It seems very straightforward, compact and well made. Having used systems like this in the past you have to be ready for some fan noise, both when charging and discharging. You can’t get something with this level of power (both input and output) in such a small enclosure, without needing a lot of active cooling. So don’t plan on installing these in a living space. An outdoor cabinet, in the garage, in the basement – that is where these things best live.

    Bought it and set this up in my garage as a backup power system. It runs my garage lights, router, battery chargers, security camera system, and garage door opener. That is exactly what I needed it for.

    The wiring and settings took some time, so I would not recommend this to someone who expects a simple plug-in device. Make sure you understand your battery voltage, solar input voltage, and appliance load before installing it.

    This inverter/charger makes a strong first impression. The unit feels solid and well built, and the sleek front panel and large display give it a more polished appearance than many off-grid power components. Despite its relatively compact profile, it packs a lot of capability into a single unit.

    One of the standout features is the built-in 140A MPPT controller and the unusually wide PV input range for a 24V system. The higher supported solar voltage allows for longer panel strings, which provides more flexibility when designing a system and can simplify wiring in certain installations. It also supports communication with compatible batteries that use a smart BMS.

    There are plenty of configuration options available, including charging priorities, output settings, and current limits. The menu system is straightforward enough once you spend some time with it, and the connection terminals feel secure and substantial.

    My biggest criticism is the lack of modern connectivity features. There is no built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB interface, or dedicated app for remote monitoring and configuration. For an inverter in this price range, being limited to adjusting settings directly on the unit feels like a missed opportunity, especially for users who want to monitor their systems without walking out to the equipment room.

    The cooling fans are somewhat more noticeable than on some larger units, likely because of the compact design, but that tradeoff helps keep the inverter’s footprint manageable.

    All in all, this is a capable all-in-one inverter and charge controller with solid construction and a feature set that will satisfy many off-grid and backup-power users at a price that won’t break the bank. If remote management isn’t important to you, it’s an easy product to recommend, but those who expect app-based controls may find the lack of connectivity disappointing.

    This is not a full whole-house inverter, but it works well for emergency backup power. Bought this for storm season after losing power a few times last year. During the last outage it kept our freezer, refrigerator, WiFi and a couple of lights going, which was all we really needed.I’m using it as a hybrid solar inverter with battery backup and utility charging. It runs my essential home loads fine, including lights, router, TV and refrigerator.
