They work!!! But are they practical???
So I’m giving these 5 stars because they absolutely work as promised. When you place them in the freezer they will be white. You can see the liquid moving inside. When they are frozen, they will turn pink. I put exactly what you think would go in that red cup and these cubes retained their temp for a good 30 minutes while I was outside. Way better than regular ice cubes.
There was no staining. No leakes from the cubes after being outside in the summer heat. The price is great. You get enough of a whole party.
However, I’m not sure how practical these are to store and keep up with. It would have been great if these came in a storage container with a lid. Instead they can spread out all over in a regular box. See pics.
Also, I cleaned my ice cubes. I wasn’t going to just drop them into something I was going to drink straight out of a box. I used soap and water and then soaked them.
I ordered this 400 Pack of Reusable Ice Cubes on request of my girlfriend who had decided she wanted a way to keep her drink cold without having it watered down by ice melting. I ordered the clear but color changing variant because they changed a pinkish purple color when frozen and stayed slightly colored until fully thawed.
The cubes arrived fast and Inside of the packaging was 400 Reusable Cubes, a white colored plastic scoop, and a large black cloth and net bag, which I assume is for storage of the cubes.
I removed a handful of these cubes, squeezed them for leaks, washed them in warm water to clean off any possible contaminants, dried them, and placed them into the freezer so I could put them through immediate real world testing.
Once frozen and pinkish purple, I placed a few into a cup with some room temperature water so I could see if it would cool it and to see how long it would take to accomplish this cooling effect. After a few moments, the contents of the cubes started melting, but they began cooling the drink immediately, which is good since I had only used three. The cubes themselves continued cooling the drink for roughly ten minutes before completely thawing. This was easily verified by the color of the cubes turning back to clear. I have since washed all of them and found a handful (1%) that were leaking at the fill point that I removed, but those that were not were placed into service.
While I won’t be able to tell how long they will last until I have had them in use for a while, I do feel like they’re pretty decent quality. My only real issue is in the contents of the cubes. Once frozen, the cubes do slightly expand which makes me wonder if it’s just water contained in them. I had half expected that gel so many others use, but water is safer if there is ever another leaking incident. Either way, they work as intended and I’ll keep this updated as time passes.

First off, I guess I did not realize or really fathom how much ice is 400 ice cubes, I had to have help to lift the box and bring it inside. What a pleasant surprise when I opened up the box and saw these plastic ice cubes that looked and felt absolutely real. So much so that once they are frozen they look exactly identical to those perfect size square cubes you get in a commercial ice machine. The color changing aspect is pretty cool as well, they turn pink once they’re frozen so you know they’re ready. These absolutely eliminate having to keep filling up the ice trays which is a pain and also having to worry about the ice maker not working properly. I only wish we could actually put these in the ice maker and have them come out of the refrigerator door but they would get destroyed when getting pushed through the shoot. They frost up nicely, so long as you put them in the freezer wet and allow them to get some type of air, the package came with a handy dandy ice scoop which I thought was a great little bonus and a durable large mesh ice bag! There were so many ice cubes I didn’t even know how we would store them and it came with its own mesh ice bag that you can easily put in the freezer (and honestly you need the bag to allow them to get air so they can freeze properly) and just use the scoop to scoop your cubes into your drink. As far as washing them you can easily put them in some type of strainer and put them back into the freezer (while wet) which makes them all the more frosted and icy once they are frozen again. We have three refrigerators in the house and thanks to the large amount that comes in this package, we have ice for all three freezers. They keep your drinks nice and cold without watering down whatever it is you’re drinking and since I live in a hot state having your drinks watered down unfortunately is something that happens far too quickly and often. Not anymore. I took off one star simply because they don’t work as well as a real ice cube obviously, I’m not even sure if that is possible so you do have to put quite a few in your drink to really get it cold and it takes a bit of time to get it to the temperature you want, but overall I can confidently recommend these. The price could have been a little bit lower however keep in mind you will not have to buy any more after getting this many, you could literally have a huge party and have enough, they are durable and will last a long time, so a one-time purchase is worth it since you don’t have to put more money into ice going forward. If you have the room, if you have a large family, or you like to entertain and have parties, these are definitely for you.
