Product description
Super handy hooks for the side of the pool. We have been using it to hold the cover but they also work quite well to hold pool floats within reach while you are in the pool. Pulling the cover off or putting it back on has never been so easy and it keeps it off the ground while stored. The metal is strong enough to hold a cover or other light items. The finish on the hooks is durable and looks like it will hold up in the sun and splash for multiple seasons. Zip ties are provided to secure the hooks. They fit well over the oval shaped top rail and the curved edges dont damage the liner. Super easy to install and very useful im considering a second set to hold more pool toys.
Works as intended
Works well. As I have an oval pool, the two end brackets will occasionally twist and allow the pool cover to slide off, but this is not too much of an inconvenience. 4 stars because the actual mounting hooks are not at the best angle and I needed to get creative with making it secure.
Works well to keep the solar cover off the grass
I ordered these hooks for my above-ground pool because typically I just roll up the solar cover and then lay it on the grass until the kids are done swimming, and then I put it back on. Doesn’t take a genius to figure out the flaw in that, which is that the solar cover always picks up grass clippings from mowing the lawn or other leaves and transfers them into the pool until the next time I take the cover off. Also, if you leave the solar cover on the grass for too long, it will kill the grass that is underneath it. This solution is far more elegant. It holds the solar cover easily, doesn’t bend, and the hooks don’t fall off. Assembling these things to put them on the pool took no more than five minutes.
If I had any complaint about the product, it would be that all the screws it comes with are the same length. This means that the screws that go in horizontally stick out kind of far after you install the nuts and have the potential to snag on either the cover or anything else that might go in between the holder and the pool. Not the end of the world, not a big deal. I could use my Dremel to cut them shorter if I wanted to, but I haven’t yet. That’s just something to keep in mind. They should have used two different size screws with this thing: longer ones for the longer part, shorter ones for the shorter part, but I’m guessing they didn’t to keep things simple.
For the cost, it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Works great. Not the most nice looking thing to have hanging on the back of your pool, but you already have an above ground pool, so it goes with the theme.
I use the hangers for my big, dark, heavy cover. The holders are easy to use, just hanging them on the side of my pool. I did find I had to leave them hanging under the cover when it is in place or they would just fall off the pool. I like that they keep my cover off the ground, keeping it cleaner and easier to replace on my pool.
