This bread box has the kind of charm that reminds me of something you might find in a bed and breakfast. It has a simple design, but it looks nice on the countertop and is surprisingly functional. I especially like that it includes a bamboo cutting board tucked away on the bottom. This cutting board would also make a great charcuterie serving board. I also like that is has a built-in tool holder for a bread knife, keeping everything handy and making good use of the space.
The bamboo has a somewhat unfinished feel, but that’s fairly typical of natural bamboo. It has a clean appearance, is easy to wipe down. I know natural bamboo is eco-friendly, really durable, and resistant to water absorption so it should work perfectly in the kitchen.
Assembly took a little patience. The included screwdriver wasn’t much help, so I’d recommend having a ratcheting screwdriver or another sturdier tool handy. One person can assemble it, but a second set of hands makes holding the shelves in place much easier while the screws are started. The parts and hardware aren’t labeled, but the assembly is fairly self-explanatory.
One of the panels didn’t line up perfectly, and we had to start the screws before gently persuading the back panel into position. Once assembled, though, everything fit together securely and the finished cabinet looks attractive and feels sturdy.
Overall, this is a nice-looking bread box with some great features that helps organize the countertop while adding a bit of farmhouse charm.
Great quality and lots of space
I was pleasantly surprised by how much this holds. The larger size is perfect for our family, and the natural bamboo looks beautiful in the kitchen. Everything feels solid and well made, especially the cutting board—it’s thick, sturdy, and something we actually use every day.
Big and heavy bread storage containers
This is a very solid bread box. It has two levels, one is perfect for muffins and croissants. The lower one is perfect for breads. It is much bigger and heavier than I thought. I love there is cutting board design in the bottom. The material seems good, no any smell. We absolutely love it!
A few shortcomings, but otherwise a nice breadbox.
We ordered this to keep our bread and other miscellaneous items organized in the kitchen. The natural bamboo matches the numerous bamboo cutting boards that we already had.
Assembly was fairly straightforward. The included screwdriver left a lot to be desired. I grabbed a full size #2 phillips screwdriver from my tool box which made assembly much easier. I didn’t have any issues with assembly, though it is worth noting that the rear panels are laminated MDF rather than natural bamboo. They have a much glossier texture and look out of place. Thankfully ours is against a wall and it’s difficult to tell they don’t match from the front with the doors open. The screw cover stickers are very similar in appearance to the rear panels. They look really out of place on the sides covering the screws. After putting one on we peeled it off and left the rest off. I think the screw heads look better than the stickers. It’s also worth noting that numerous pieces out of the box had sawdust on them. I would have expected the pieces to be thoroughly blown off before packing.
The handles/knife holders on the side are nice in theory. With ours sitting on the counter and under a cabinet there is not enough room to insert a bread knife without pulling this out from under the cabinet. It also leaves the blade exposed which isn’t idea with two toddlers running around that may want to grab the blade. Our knife block sits nearby, so not utilizing this feature didn’t bother us.
The built-in cutting board and storage is nice too. We have special cutting boards for raw meat but otherwise don’t do a great job using each cutting board for a specific category of food. This allows us to dedicate the included cutting board for bread and only bread. This is especially handy when my wife makes sourdough and we cut it as we eat it.
For the price I would have liked to have seen solid bamboo rear panels to match the rest of the construction and a better solution to cover the screws. Maybe wood plugs. Otherwise this is a pretty nice and sturdy bread box that looks great on our kitchen counter.
A little bigger than I expected.
This bread box is nice, large, and has sufficient room to store quite a few pantry items. The assembly wasn’t too bad, though I personally do not love the function of the doors. The top one will not open all the way if the bottom one is closed. Also, I pre-measured my counter space before I purchased this bread box and I was certain it would fit under my cabinets on my counter… WRONG. The bread box is 1/4″ taller than advertised, so I’m not able to put it where I had planned. Despite this, the overall quality of the product itself is good, sturdy, and I appreciate all the pre-drilled holes to help with assembly. I just wish the dimensions were accurate!
Great quality overall, but acrylic is iffy
Great size and very useful for organizing your counter or pantry. The overall quality is really good and it feels like a good value. The wood feels very durable, however the acrylic does not. It was covered in a film and already had a small crack when I peeled it away. I do like the box though. It looks nice and overall am very happy with it.
