I love anything in the solar line and have been anxious to set up this water fountain. Unfortunately, the sun has only come out for short periods of time and we’ve had lots of rain. The only thing I’ve consistently been able to set up and maintain is a solar bug zapper. Eventually, this will be used in a small marsh area in the back of my property.
Everything needed for assembly is right in the box. I always like to keep a small toolbox on hand in case I need anything. For example, a small adjustable wrench would be handy when adjusting the expansion screws. Most of the solar panels for birdbaths are slightly different that this one. They tend to be smaller and do fit right in the bath. This one is more appropriate for larger ponds as the panel is large.
I do like to adjust my panels on a 45 angle to maximize catching those rays. Right now, as mentioned, it’s rainy and overcast. I do like to keep my panels clean and as dust free as possible so as not to scratch the cells. The nozzles are made of a somewhat cheap plastic, but should hold up for a while. There are several to choose from, something that will enable me to choose my spray pattern, if that’s what you can call it.
It’s a given that the water used is going to have to be kept clean or the pump will clog. The panel itself can be moved during the day, if so desired, to catch those rays. With my solar bug zapper, I haven’t had to move it as the panel stores enough energy. I’m hoping that will happen with this setup. The price is actually very reasonable considering what you’re getting.

I am a fan of solar powered garden decors as they always bring my garden alive without costing me extra electric bills. So when I see this 12watt solar water fountain pump available, I ordered it right away for the bird bath located on our backyard porch. So far it’s been working great just as how I have expected, and I am very happy with it. 🙂
This solar water fountain pump is made in amazing quality and overall nice craftsmanship. It has a large size solar panel for powering the 12w pump, which offers beautiful high spray of water on sunny days. The whole setup was super easy and straightforward. There are 6 nozzles included, which I can alternate to the best preferred one that I liked. The only thing I noticed was the fountain pump only works under sunlight (when hits on the solar panel). The pump will rarely pumping water in rainy or cloudy days. Personally I don’t really mind as I won’t be staying outside on bad weather days, but it is worth well mentioning this.
Overall, this is a really nice solar water fountain pump for both large or medium size bird baths. It worked well for us, so yes I do happily recommend this product.

I got this to make a little filter for a small water trough for my goats and it works perfectly! It only works in the daytime but does not require very strong light to function.

I recently purchased the Solar Fountain Pump for my backyard bird bath, and it has exceeded my expectations. Installation was quick and straightforward, and I appreciated that everything needed for setup was included in the package. The solar panel provides consistent power on sunny days, and the 9.84-foot cable gave me plenty of flexibility to position the panel where it receives the most sunlight while keeping the fountain in the ideal location. The pump starts up quickly when exposed to direct sunlight and creates a beautiful water display. One of my favorite features is the variety of spray patterns. The three included nozzles make it easy to customize the water flow depending on the size of the bird bath or pond. I also found the 3.28-foot DIY tubing useful for creating a small water feature, adding a decorative touch to my garden. The pump operates quietly and helps keep the water circulating, which attracts birds while helping to keep the water fresher. The build quality feels durable, and it has held up well outdoors through changing weather conditions.
Solar panel is powerful to drive motor with nearly 20cm wide spray and DIY tubing
This solar fountain is powerful with a spray jet that reaches nearly 60cm in height because of its over sized 12W solar panel driving a 5V motor. The plug is also dual pronged which connects on both line and neutral passing across voltage with increased level of consistency. I found that the solar panel does require ample amounts of sunlight as even narrower shade reduces its power output enough to stop the bird bath fountain pump from running its motor. What it misses on is automatic sensing since the solar panel continuously feeds voltage to the motor even when bird bath is dried from water causing the motor to emit a noisy propeller rotation effect that can be heard even 15ft in distance. At least the included kit has a lengthy cable alongside mounting hardware for either riveting the solar panel into concrete or installing on the backyard garden shed. This makes the kit handy for setting up a water feature in the backyard because its powerful motor is capable of pushing water flow through a hose or included set of spray attachments. Although when it comes to bird baths the pump will spray outward the jet of water with 22cm in diameter causing water drainage. Considering the larger 12W panel design and its somewhat noisier pump this is a solid kit for setting up a backyard pond. Connector is water tight using rubber gasket with double pin barrel plug but cabling relies on a standard PVC outer layer which lacks resistance to temperature fluctuation. Aside from this the fountain shape can be customized by pushing onto the sockets multiple height extenders or spray attachments included in the kit. Suction pads on the bottom of the pump are a drawback as they lack enough sticking adhesion to keep the pump upright with its taller spray attachments mounted. Having the larger mountable solar panel in this kit while an advantage also means the pump emits noisy motor rotation when ponds are dried and misses on being able to sense water increasing frequency of manual DIY maintenance required to clean the filter and unplug the pump from the solar panel. Lack of a solar BMC also means the solar panel voltage fluctuates which requires the panel to be carefully positioned towards direct sunlight despite including a hardware mounting kit for putting this on garden shed or even fences. What is neat though is the tubing can be utilized for submerging the pump into water features while still positioning the panel at a nearly 10ft range from the pump motor itself.
