Should l turn off the water valve when l change the filter?
This filter does not require to shut off the water. However,it is recommended to turn off the water valve to de-pressurize if customers have difficulties removing the old existing filter or installing the new filter.

I own a fancy Frigidaire refrigerator with an ice maker/water dispenser. I love it and my whole family uses it several times a day. What I don’t love is the pricey OEM water filters that have to be replaced twice a year. It adds up to a hundred dollars a year. This year I looked for a compatible filter at a lower price and I was happy to try these PWF-1 compatible water filters from HomeLovely. I noticed right away that they looked exactly like the name brand I was used to, but I could get two for about the same price as half of the name brand. What a great value! They installed exactly the same way and they’ve been installed for several days with no problem. Our drinking water tastes just as good and I am excited to have a spare for the next time I need one.

These filters are a perfect fit for my fridge and seem to be an exact replacement for the OEM filter.
After running two gallons through the filter, the water coming out is clear and has no taste. Installation is super-easy. Just push on the old filter to pop it out, slide in the new one until it clicks (it only goes one way), and run a more than a gallon through the water dispenser in the door. I’ve had the first new filter installed for a few weeks now and there have been no leaks.
The water tastes great and when the fridge tells me it’s time to change the filter there’s another on hand because this is a two pack so it’s a better value.
Good Filter Fi
The filters are well packaged (sealed), constructed (based on visual inspection), and fit my Frigidaire fridge as expected (no different than OEM filter). Installation was easy, again, no different than OEM filter. After purging (1-2 gallons), the water has a smooth and steady flow, and clears up (a bit cloudy at first which is normal). As for taste, our household only uses the water filtration system for ice production, which has no unusual or distinct taste.

great deal at 10 each + fits fridgidaire + great taste
We just had the refrigerator replaced earlier this year where we rent, and it was time to order our first water filter. In anticipation, I came across this 2 pack claiming to be compatible with my fridgidaire, so I decided to give them a try. The set was only 19.99, and at 10 a piece this was a great value. These fit perfectly, they even have the cute little water drop on the base, like the original filter had.
While the flavor of your water will vary based on numerous factors including, where you live, the time of the year, and the filtration system in place, I happen to be quite sensitive to such things. I notice a difference between most bottled water, or store-bought ice. While this did change the flavor of the water, ever so slightly, it tastes and smells great. Since we have an ice machine that is also attached, this has provided clean cubes, as well.
It was easy to insert, and flush. Our appliance has been operating as usual, and it allows me to drink “tap” water at home. While I have always hated the amount of water that it takes to flush home filters, I prefer this to the endless plastic bottles, and over all costs and impacts of such procurement. I do find that we get 6 months use with all of our previous filters, including the one that came with the new appliance. I expect that this should have the same lifespan, and I already have another ready to go, 6 months in advance. I would buy these again, especially at the price I paid.
