Solid look and feel
I was skeptical but they seem very well built, the focus seems to work just fine. Pretty simple to install, I had a pot light that I had to remove to install the main power, but once complete worked like a charm. I’d buy these again.
Elegant minimalist design, perfect for my small recording studio, replacing other heads on an existing standard track (110vac). Took seconds. They are solid and sturdy, feel very well made, and function precisely. Being able to switch color temperatures, mix and match, and adjust the beam width are functions that used to only be available on much more expensive units, so this set is an extremely great value for the dollar. I had a small challenge with one of the fixtures, sent an email to the mfgr, to which I got a response literally within an hour, and they sent me a new one that I got within about 5 days. In these days of taking a chance on companies and brands you have never heard of, and knowing sometimes things are not perfect, the trick is recovery and customer service. These guys hit it out of the park. There was no try this or try that: their immediate response was we’ll be sending you a new one immediately. Which they did. I am impressed with the performance of the fixtures and recommend them highly.
Part was perfect for my intended usage, but I was in need of this exact item in a Halo J track style. I just misread the item description. I unfortunately cannot get this zoomable in the J track and had to settle for a wide angle light that was dimmable.
I tried it in an h track, and found it worked exactly as I wished, but the track I needed to install it on was requiring a 16 foot ladder to Change it out the track. I could reach the end to install the required lamp from the adjacent balcony. I am over 75 and do not need to be that high at my age.
Ideal for difficult lighting settings
Overview
This is a box of four track light heads compatible with H-type track. What sets these apart from other heads is that you can change the colour temperature and change the lighting coverage area.
They are dimmable (with a Triac dimmer) though I didn’t try this out. Their maximum brightness is claimed to be 1000Lm which is the about the equivalent of a 75 watt incandescent or 50 watt Halogen bulb.
Pros
– colour temperature is easily adjusted with an inconspicuous slide-switch, from 3000K (“WW” or warm white) to 4000K (“NW” or natural white) to 5000K (“CW” or cold white)
– light coverage area is not as easy adjusted. The front lens is rotated from narrow spotlight (15) continuously to floodlight (60)
– The head can be rotated about 315 around and tilted about 95 from very slightly above horizontal to vertical.
Cons
– They are much longer than conventional LED track light heads.
Conclusion
These heads are almost universal, allowing you to match (but not necessarily exactly) the colour temperature of these lamps to others you may have. That you can also adjust the coverage means you can fine tune them to avoid “hot” or dark spots and fill in gaps between other lamps to smooth out the coverage.
I use these lamps in a long, narrow room where it’s difficult to obtain even light coverage. Using their adjustable light coverage I can fill in where the other lamps are leaving shadows.
Super flexible with spot size and white colour temperature
Love these spots. Adjustable spot size and colour temperature. With a smart dimmer, these are amazing in my den.
Liked so much, bought another 4 set to add to den for very flexible and controlled warm white ambient lighting with my neon LED’s. With smart dimmer, they can be super bright or dime to a nice low light.
They were a little tricky to install in the track because they were only go in one direction. If you put them in the way, they wouldn’t light up. I mainly bought them because I wanted to can that hit the bulb from shining in my eyes, and that’s great. They have a good range of motion and I have them focused on the widest setting. They switch nicely from cool to natural to warm white.
My only concern, is that as far as I can tell, the bulb is permanently installed. I’ve never had an LED bomb that’s lasted more than a few years so I hope this lives up to their 50,000 hours
