PROS: Good assortment. Holds lots of water. Doesn’t shed. Very soft. Use for watercolor.
CONS: Doesn’t hold a point. No “snap” to the round brushes.
USE: dagger brushes for leaves; round brushes for washes or putting large areas of paint onto paper, mark-making, abstracts, and loose backgrounds.
For beginner watercolorists: You will still need a flat brush and a large round with a good point (Princetone 4050 sz 16)
As Advertised
These brushes serve me well for when I am painting. I’ve used them several times and they have held their shape. Good value for the price. Easy to use, soft enough and seem of reasonable quality with little bristle loss.
I have several sets of Fuumuui brushes now and every one of them is wonderful. Not any of them sheds like I’ve seen some reviews say theitd did. I do have some (although very few) real Kolinsky’s but these are every bit as good, in my opinion. I love my Fuumuui’s and don’t even use my synthetics or Kolinsky’s anymore.
Granted, I’m a self-taught watercolorist and would consider myself probably intermediate skill level without a whole bunch of experience with expensive sables, but my Fuumuui’s are a pleasure to use and are my go-to brushes every time I paint. I’ll continue to buy Fuumuui’s till I have all they make. I’m close to that now, I think.
These are good brushes for the money. I didn’t want to drop a ton of money on natural hair brushes as I’m just learning water color. These hold a lot more color/ liquid than synthetics and haven’t shed at all-would recommend
