I play pickleball a few times a week and have mostly used inexpensive paddles. I consider myself a decent player and my last one was a fairly big brand name but it had some dead spots that were annoying to me. I never imagined I’d spend this much on a paddle and I never thought I could play with a shorter handle that comes with a hybrid. Getting used to the handle was an easy tradeoff for the larger sweet spot (and it is really noticeable). My control on deep shots and lobs seemed to improve almost right away and my overall game feels like it is better. I’m still working on the dinking where I have not noticed a big difference yet. This is a great paddle for me! My only criticism is that the face of it gets marked up quickly with ball marks which does not affect play but doesn’t look particularly good.
I love the paddle. I am an everyday player and have played the paddle 2 days and I love how it plays.I already see more consistency in my shots and my lobs. The handle is a little stickier than I prefer but I am getting use to it. On my paddle the “damage” was a few slight paint discoloration but nothing that impacts the play. (See photo) Good power and feel. It helps me play with more confidence.
Paddle somewhat light in weight but still affords good power. Can impart more spin to the ball if desired. Good looking paddle and attracted considerable attention from several local players who are familiar with the brand’s quality.
The only negative thing about this paddle is that you will never want to play with any other paddle again. This paddle gives you more power and more touch. I really liked the paddle I had before I bought this but it doesn’t compare to my vanguard.
