Alright this mouse is incredible. It’s the Razer Viper V3 Pro, just without the 8k dongle. You can still buy the dongle later from Razer if you decide you want to upgrade to 8k polling. The included dongle polls at 1k.
It’s entirely subjective, but this mouse is so comfortable, but also lightweight. The grip feels amazing and the shape is fairly neutral so Im guessing most people could get used to it.
As far as gaming goes, control feels excellent. I have a 40g mouse from another brand, but I feel much more stable with this one when cruising through benchmarks. Clicks are light and crisp, tolerances are tight, and I haven’t had a single connection issue yet. Battery life is incredible, but I’m assuming this would go down if you switched to 8k polling.
Mouse shape is very much personal preference, but if you’re on the fence on this one the quality is too notch and it’s going to be hard to beat.
This is a great gaming mouse option for those who do not need greater than 1000 Hz polling rates that the original Viper V3 Pro offers. It is very comfortable in hand and it has an excellent light weight to it as well. Battery life has also been outstanding requiring very infrequent charging. The companion app is also easy to use for changing the various settings on the mouse.
The Razer Viper V3 Pro SE honestly surprised me more than I expected.
I own a fairly large collection of mice, mostly from Chinese brands, and my first non Chinese mouse was the ASUS ROG Harpe Ace Mini. That one is good, but it never really felt special in terms of coating or overall feel. This one does.
The first thing I noticed was the coating. It just feels right. It is grippy without being sticky, and it gives the mouse a much more premium feel than I expected. It is easily one of the best coatings I have used so far.
Build quality is solid, but what really stands out is the attention to detail. Nothing feels cheap or hollow. It is one of those mice that you pick up and immediately notice the difference, even if on paper it looks similar to others.
Performance wise, there is nothing crazy here, and that is fine. Since this is the SE version, it is limited to 1kHz, and in real use it feels just like any other high end mouse. Honestly, most people will not benefit from anything higher than that anyway.
The buttons are another thing I really like. They have a softer, cleaner click without any metallic sound. Compared to the Harpe Ace Mini, which sounds more like a traditional mechanical click, this one feels more refined. I personally prefer it.
The scroll wheel is good and has well defined steps, but I will say I slightly prefer the one on the Razer DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed. That one just feels a bit more polished.
One thing I did not like is the dongle situation. The mouse includes a small USB dongle, but there is no place inside the mouse to store it. If you plan to move it around, that can be a bit annoying. It is not a dealbreaker, but it is something to keep in mind.
I do like that you have the option to use a different dongle for higher polling rates if you want, but realistically, 1kHz is more than enough for most people.
Overall, this is a very solid mouse. It does not rely on flashy specs, but instead focuses on things you actually feel when using it, like coating, clicks, and overall finish. If you care about those details, this one is definitely worth it.
Save your money and buy the SE version instead!!
If you have not purchased the regular V3 pro (8K polling rate) i suggest saving money and getting the SE version instead (1K polling rate) you will not notice any difference, UNLESS you have a 500hz+ monitor.
One of the customers said this thing was “overweight”. I can only assume there were drugs involved at time of review. My initial impression was that the mouse was mostly air: a lightweight plastic piece of junk. But hey, I decided to give it the royal try. I got synapse and set the dpi to 8000 to make sure my wife could never use it (joking), and I honestly came to like it. It looks nice and games seamlessly… so yeah, it’s grown on me like a fungus, and while I am now a zombie from The Last of Us, I can’t help but feel like I have a pretty decent mouse.
