Have been running this in my farm pond for almost a year 7/24! It just keeps plugging along. For the price compared to some more expensive units, I’m very pleased so far. It has made a noticeable improvement of the water quality and the fish look healthy and very active! I do wish I could buy more of the hose that came with this as the stuff I purchased to extend the aerators has been nothing but problems!
I was concerned about Cyanobacteria blooms since my dog LOVES my pond so much. This aeration system was an inexpensive option and easy install for my situation and did wonders in clearing the water. The down side is that at low summer levels my pond is only 6-8′ deep and the crystal clear water allowed emergent weeds to absolutely take over.
It’s too late for this season but I’ll be employing some combination of dye and grass carp to keep milfoil and water grass at bay. This is in no way the fault of the aeration: so far so good on this system, and the water between the weeds looks tap water clear. I can’t get a Secchi measurement since I don’t have a boat, but I’m certain I’ve got minimum 5-6′ visibility now.
Update: 2 years later, still operating without issue. Dark blue dye has helped milfoil but late august is still a mess. Emergent grass gives shelter for algae at the pond edges, and the only thing that has impacted the stout shallow water bulrush is mechanical removal. Test applications of herbicides haven’t touched it.

Outstanding Performance, we chose to buy this pump due to the manufacturers notes on the quality they built into their product. The two diffusers have amazing output boiling up the water from about eight feet below. We used solid core copper ground wire to attach diffusers to cinder blocks, then floated them into place with a plastic storage container then swam them down to place them where we wanted. We had a problem with filamentous moss which was totally killed by the increased oxygen within three months. Our pond is about 1.5 surface acres with average depth of eight feet.
We live on a fairly large lake with lots of muck and underwater plants around our shore line. Even though this it is stated for ponds, I took a chance that it would at least improve our shoreline area out to about 30 feet. I am so glad I took the chance. Within days I saw the water becoming clearer and seeing some muck being churned up from the bottom.
We use the lake as our water source for our sprinkler system. Typically I would have to clean the filter at the pump after each running of the system..What a PAIN! I was considering switching to city water as it was so much of a hassle. Now I can go 4-5 runnings of the system without cleaning the filter. And I expect that to continue to improve.
Set up is quick and easy. I also bought the housing box to protect the pump. I am now thinking of buying 2 more diffusers so I can get even better performance. Also, this one is mid range of pricing. I found some both much higher and lower. I decided on this one because of some reviews and their customer service. They responded to my questions quickly.
For years I have tried many different things without success. I am now confident that I have found it! Why did it take me so long?
I bought this pump and accessories after researching my best options for the price. I have a small 1/4 acre pond and want some air diffusers for both ends. I purchased this about in February 2020 sometime. I bought a housing to go with it so it was protected from the elements and had electric already out so I was able to plug easily into a timer. Easy to setup, was about 50 yards from the house and never heard it run. Worked great up to a few weeks ago.
My house is on the Myakka River in Venice Fl and up to Hurricane Etta (Fall 2020), even though the property flooded it was nothing like the amount of water Etta brought us. To make a long story short, the water ended up being high enough to enter the pump housing ( and the housing was raised, not resting on the ground). I waded thru the water and managed to unplug the pump. Once the water went down, I plugged it in again but found the pump was buzzing and not pushing any air.
I contacted the manufacturer in China who responded within 24 hours mostly due to the difference in time. I told them what happened and asked if I could ship it off to have fixed. It wasn’t their fault and I was happy to pay for the repair if reasonable. I was informed it could not be repaired but they would be happy to replace it (a new model by the way) at an extremely fair price including shipping from China. I took advantage of the price and their service and within about a week I have my new pump and it is working great. They also sent me 2 new 100 ft airline hoses at no additional cost to me which I did not need and am trying to return.
In my opinion, great product and great customer service. The pump is easily well built and I have no doubt will last a long time. The airline hoses are thick rather than flimsy and the diffusers themselves heavy and well built too. It’s obvious the company stands behind their product and I would definitely purchase this again if I had too.
Long term review. I’ve owned this system for 5 years now and the air compressor finally siezed up. Up to this point, the compressor has seen pretty much 24/7 operation for 365 days a year, with some off periods during winter when it was only used if my pond iced over and our ducks needed water to swim in. Very easy to install, plenty of length on the hoses and the bubblers perform great. I installed the compressor inside a plastic storage box with a liftable lid on it. Drilled holes in the sides for cooling and ventilation and to allow a power cord in and the air hoses out. As for the recent compressor failure, it is now winter and I disconnected one of the air hoses and closed the isolation valve to it, so the compressor was running air only to one hose instead of the normal two, so I’m wondering if the increased backpressure had something to do with the failure. No worries in the end. I’ll just another compressor and move forward. I may try to get the unit to rotate again, but my bet is the rings are seized on the pistons and I have no desire to do a rebuild.
The PAS20 Pond Pump works great and helps keep the fish active and plays an important role helping to control algae. I set up a 90-minute ON/30-minutes OFF automatic cycle on a timer (bought separately).
Customer service is Excellent!
These are my recommendations (and I will follow-up with my pump rebuild experience):
1. If you like the pump performance, I recommend buying a Pump Rebuild kit (for your pump model year) in advance, so you won’t forget.
2. If you plan to rebuild the pump, I recommend taking several photos of the pump before & during the rebuild process so you remember how to re-assemble the pump.
3. If you plan to rebuild the pump (~$50 rebuild vs ~$600 pump), I recommend buying spare screws ($10 for 25 screws M6-1.0x14mm FLAT Head screws).
4. I recommend red loctite to imitate the manufacturers decision ensure the piston stays tight when it gets hot.
5. Removing the 12 screws is easy, but you may need a socket wrench for leverage instead of a tiny allen wrench.
6. The piston screw removal (1 screw per piston) was the most difficult task, and I found a quick solution. The two (2) Flat Head piston screws are installed with permanent red loctite, so I simply used a #2 screw extractor (drilling a hole into the socket, and using an extractor to remove the screw), which is a predictable process for me. (I had unsuccessfully tried a propane torch to soften the red loctite, so I will use to use screw extractors in the future).
7. The piston seal installation was tricky. The seal fits between two pieces of the piston head, and fits tightly within the piston ring (the seal tends to twist out of position). I decided to place the piston in the highest position, fit the ring, then rest the seal & piston cap on the top of the piston-ring. Then I used the screw (adding red loctite) to uniformly press the seal into the piston.
This is my rebuild story to help you: As advertised, I followed their instructions exactly (including an automatic on-off timer to prevent overheating), and the pump worked maintenance-free for more than 2 years. After about 27 months, the pump became significantly louder but the pump was making bubbles (in hindsight, this louder noise was evidence of the seals degrading, and the pumping power was significantly diminished).
I recommend preparing the Pump-Rebuild process quickly after the pump gets louder (AFTER 2 years).
I bought the PAS20 rebuild kit in advance (and make sure you get the kit compatible with your pump model year).
Eventually, our pump stopped making bubbles, so I successfully rebuilt the pump. After trial & error, I developed the recommendations above (I had to buy screws in the middle of the rebuild process). In the future, I think I could rebuild the pump within about 3 hours (I consider myself to have average DIY skills).
