Must have for long runs
The best handheld bottle for runners. I have this and a hydraflask and prefer this Nathan one more for long runs. I can fit 4 gels in the pocket and like how the bottle doesn’t leak while you run. Nozzle is easy to open and close to avoid spills. 12oz is light with enough water for training. Very easy to clean.
It’s a little unfair for me to rate this bottle.
So, I like the strap, which for the 12-oz version fits well on my small hands. I like the Push-Pull Blast Valve cap. The material is comfortable with no chafing seams. The entire package is lightweight and durable.
I wanted to give this kind of bottle a try and figured if anyone would, Nathan would deliver a good squeezy handheld. And it seems like a good bottle with a great design.
The problem is, I’m already accustomed to carrying 500 mL soft flasks, barehanded, on long easy runs. After taking this hard bottle on a short run, I’m not converted.
I also don’t get why the phone pocket is unzippered and on the front, where if it hasn’t fallen out by the time a runner trips, it will be front and center to crack. Then again, I’m still the wrong runner to judge this, as I don’t take my phone on runs. I also haven’t fallen, but I’ve witnessed trail falls and the possibility is always on my mind. But for those with no fear, no bounce, and great balance, I can vouch that a large phone (Pixel 6 Pro) fits in the pocket but protrudes (shown in my picture), and a medium-sized phone (Pixel 9 Pro) fits with minimal protrusion.
Granted, I have on occasion borrowed friends’ hard bottles, and this one is way, way better than any other one I’ve tried. So if this is your thing, I think you’re gonna like this one.
Other than the pocket, all of this product’s aspects seem just right. But put them together, and they simply are not collapsible.
Good try, hard-bottle lovers. But Imma stick with my soft flasks.
