Great wire - would buy again.
Exactly what you’d expect. This THHN wire appears to be of fine quality and suitable for general electrical and control wiring use. The stranded copper makes it easier to route than solid wire, especially in conduit, panels, and tighter boxes, although some may find it a little stiffer than expected for stranded conductors. The insulation and nylon jacket are durable, strip cleanly, and the printed markings along the jacket make identification straightforward.
Color coding is helpful for keeping runs organized. Most users would likely find it easy to work with, and it is a fair value for the length, but quality control appears excellent on the sample I had.
quality wire
This is quality wire. It is well made and checks as specified. The insulation is THHN which is the thinnest commonly used for home wiring and the wire gauge checks out properly. In use it works well and is easy to strip and form into place. Stranded wire is somewhat more flexible than solid making this a good choice for running in pipe or flexible stubs. The pictures show a reference to a UL standard but there is no UL or other safety standard listing that I could find on the wire or packaging. This may restrict it’s use in some situations because of building code or standards. That’s the only thing I can find wrong with this and it won’t apply in many situations so this is the good stuff.
Copper Wire Is Boring Until You Need Good Copper Wire
Nobody gathers their friends around to admire a spool of THHN wire, but bad wire can certainly ruin everyone’s day.
This 10 AWG stranded copper wire appears well made, with flexible conductors that are easy to work with and insulation that feels durable without being overly stiff. Pulling it through conduit and routing it through panels was straightforward.
Build quality is exactly what you want from electrical wire: consistent, professional, and uneventful. Electrical work generally goes best when nothing exciting happens.
The green insulation is clearly marked and easy to identify in larger projects.
Its versatility makes it suitable for residential, commercial, industrial, CNC, control panel, and equipment wiring applications. Good length for the money.
For the quality of the copper, insulation, and overall usability, this is a good value for the money.
Slightly stiff for stranded wire, but well made
The wire was shipped with two layers of protection against both abrasion and moisture intrusion. The coil was thoroughly wrapped with cling film and placed in a clear, zip closure bag.
One feature that I noticed almost immediately, and really appreciate, are the markings on the insulation along the entire length of the wire. These markings give all of the pertinent specs for the cable for quick and easy identification when I need it for a project. It reads “STRANDED THHN/THWN-2/THWN 10AWG CABLE NYLON SHEATH 600V”. It then has a unique number mark that counts up every foot for quick length identification. The marking then finishes off with the UL certification number.
I was slightly surprised at how stiff the wire was for being a stranded type. This can come in handy, however, when bending a curve into it for connection to a screw terminal. One thing I really like about stranded wire, in contrast to solid, is for when I need to solder it. The solder really binds well with the strands.
All in all, I think this cable is a good value and decent quality.
Well-made, durable, reliable, 10 gauge electrical wire
I was very impressed with this 10 AWG THHN wire. The construction immediately stands out, featuring 100% oxygen-free stranded copper conductors that deliver excellent conductivity while maintaining the flexibility needed for professional installations. Whether routing through conduit, navigating tight bends, or wiring complex panels, the stranded design makes handling noticeably easier without sacrificing performance. This wire provides and upgrade from usual 15-amp to heavier use 20-amp outlets with safe, reliable current flow.
The durability of this wire is equally impressive. The combination of robust PVC insulation and an abrasion-resistant nylon jacket provides outstanding protection against moisture, oil, gasoline, and other harsh environmental conditions. With a 600-volt rating, UL 83 listing, RoHS compliance, and flame-retardant properties, it offers the level of safety and reliability expected in residential, commercial, and industrial applications alike. The clear color coding also simplifies circuit identification, helping reduce installation errors and improving overall project efficiency.
Versatile, from grounding and panel wiring to lighting circuits and control systems, it performs confidently across a wide range of applications. The broad operating temperature range and suitability for both wet and dry locations make it an excellent choice for demanding projects where long-term dependability matters. Overall, this is a well-manufactured, professional-grade THHN wire that combines safety, durability, flexibility, and performance in one outstanding product.
The price is excellent for its durability, construction and utility.
High-Quality Stranded Copper – Perfect for Upgrading to 20A Garage Outlets
The MOOKEERF 12 Gauge THHN Wire is a good choice for anyone tackling residential or workshop electrical upgrades. I picked up this 50-foot black spool to upgrade my garage outlets from a standard 15-amp circuit to a heavy-duty 20-amp line, and it performed great.
The Highlights:
The Perfect 20A Upgrade: Upgrading to a 20A circuit requires stepping up from 14 AWG to 12 AWG wire to safely handle the higher current. This 12 gauge wire is rated for up to 600V and easily meets national electrical codes for a dedicated garage line, giving me total peace of mind when running power tools, air compressors, or shop vacs.
Highly Flexible Stranded Copper: Unlike stiff, solid-core Romex, this wire features Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC) stranded construction. The high strand count makes it incredibly flexible and significantly easier to pull through tight conduits and bend into electrical boxes.
Durable Slick Jacket: The combination of PVC insulation and a outer nylon jacket is excellent. The nylon layer gives the wire a smooth, slick surface that reduces friction during conduit pulls, while offering superior resistance to oil, grease, and moisture…which is essential for garage and workshop environments.
Versatile Design: Because it is standard THHN/THWN-2 building wire, it is highly versatile. It’s perfect not just for residential wall outlets, but also for panel wiring, grounding, or CNC machinery.
Final Verdict: This is a professional-grade, high-conductivity wire that makes simple electrical projects much easier to handle. It strips cleanly, routes effortlessly, and safely delivers the power needed for a modern garage. Highly recommended for any DIY electrical upgrade!
high-quality THHN wire
I recently used the MOOKEERF 14 AWG THHN Wire (50 ft, Red) in a Arduino project. The stranded oxygen-free copper construction provides excellent flexibility while maintaining the conductivity and durability needed for demanding electrical projects.
One of the first things I noticed was the quality of the insulation. The PVC insulation and nylon jacket feel robust and professional-grade, making the wire easy to pull through conduit and small project boxes while offering confidence that it will stand up to long-term use. The insulation also strips cleanly without nicking the copper strands, which saves time and helps create reliable terminations.
The stranded design makes routing and panel wiring much easier than solid-core alternatives, especially in tighter spaces. I used it for control panel wiring and equipment connections, and it handled bends and routing paths with ease. The bright red jacket is clearly marked and easy to identify, helping keep wiring organized and reducing the chance of mistakes.
The wire appears to be manufactured to a high standard, with consistent strand quality and accurate gauge sizing throughout the entire length. Whether you’re working on residential electrical projects, industrial controls, CNC equipment, grounding applications, or general panel wiring, this wire delivers dependable performance.
Overall, this is a high-quality THHN wire that offers excellent flexibility, solid construction, and professional results. I would not hesitate to purchase it again for future electrical projects and can confidently recommend it to anyone looking for reliable 14 AWG stranded copper wire.
