I usually wait a little longer before submitting a review, but honestly, this says it all. I researched a LOT of comparable rugs, because basically I’m trying to cover a horrible floor until we can get it redone. I wanted something that worked with my bright multicolor house. And I didn’t want to spend too much because of these behemoths plus the multiple cats who live in the house. I don’t care how high quality the carpet is, the slobber and drool generated by the St. Bernard alone will reduce the value. So I found this one, which matched my living room colors perfectly! I noticed how soft it was as I pulled it out of the box, and given how much effort it took to lay it out, I’m pretty sure it’s not going anywhere. The dogs have already run through without it slipping at all. Since my big babies have decided that the floor is now suitable for their naps, I might even get to use my couch for people to sit on again. That’s a new concept. It feels durable, I believe it will hold up for a while. As for cleaning, we’ll find out soon enough how easy it is to clean any messes, I’m sure.
But being able to have the dogs flop on the floor happily sprawled in the living room… That’s a two paws up from here!
Edit: A few days later:
The adult children have walked in and laid down to snuggle with dogs on the rug. The coffee table has been banished to the basement. I walk barefoot in my living room now. My husband even noticed it. It’s the new household identity, apparently. And the cat the thinks she runs the place scratched at one side for a while then got bored and left it alone, apparently it’s kitty-claw proof. I may have to get one for the dining room.
Wow. This is a soft wonderful rug! I am amazed at how it lays so flat right out of the packaging. It’s beautiful. I was only able to lay it down halfway because I’m having a new sofa delivered in a few days and haven’t gotten rid of my old one yet. I couldn’t wait to see what it was going to look like so I did what any woman would.. I made my own rules! I have a picture of what it looks like folded in half. The original picture on Amazon has it looking a bit greenish around the border but it’s not. It’s a cream color. Very neutral and natural.
I only have a one bedroom apartment but am seriously considering buying one for my bedroom as well. This one is going in the living room. I recommend this to anyone looking for a soft feel under your feet, with a homey feel. It really makes the room!
