I purchased this DVD player instead of a tv for my three year olds room. I decided this was a safer and more convenient option due to I can control what she is watching without being concerned she’s on the Internet. The battery life lasts till she is asleep. The DVD player can be brought into the vehicle, Dr appointments or just at home. It has good quality and has made it through a three year old carrying it around so made very well. Portable is always a nice and convenient option with kids.
Just received both of my portable DVD players yesterday (yes, I ordered two and I will tell you why later). I opened them and plugged them in for charging overnight. This morning I gave them a run through at the breakfast table. My little girl had her eyes glued to the screen!!! They are AWESOME!!! The picture is great, the sound is good and they are so easy to operate. I used the UV cable (purchased separately) to connect the two and could watch the same movie on both screens; that was just plugging them together and pushing the MODDE button that is right on the control panel, how easy! I brought the remote out to see how that would work with two units playing the same movie. I was able to change the volume on each unit with the same remote by simply pointing at the unit I wanted the change on; how easy is that!! It looks like I can control both units with the same remote by just pointing it at the unit I want to change, I won’t have to use both remotes!!
I spent considerable time researching the portable DVD players before my purchase. I purchase two of these and so far I am thrilled with my decision!! Others in the same price point (this unit x 2 on sale ~$140) only offered one unit with a “dummy” unit and you could not play them individually if you wanted to. Other units were smaller in size, some where not high enough picture quality and others were just way too expensive for what they are being used for.
I will be using these in our truck for my toddler to watch movies when we travel for long distances; this is only a couple of times per year. I would have had to spend a lot more money to buy a dual unit with separate functionality or have only one real unit to play on. I found this unit and doubled up to get my Dual Portable DVD Players. The Best Bang for my Buck!!!
I was sent someone’s return item. No power cord or remote and the manual was written on. The dvd play didn’t even come in it’s box it was just loose in the shipped box. Replacement has been ordered. I’ll write another review on that one.
Edited-got my replacement dvd player. Came sealed in it’s own box with the remote and all it’s cords including the power cord. Used it today and it works like a dream. The Screen is large and the sound is great. Definitely worth the price. I originally gave this review 1 star but I’m upgrading to 5 since this product is everything I needed it to be once I got the replacement.
*Update-after 3 years my device has stopped working properly. It only loads the disk and then states there is no disc. Doesn’t matter the DVD used (at first thought it had to do with the DVDs region) but nothing works now and it worked the previous day. Time for a new one. Updating review since I think it should have lasted longer than 3 years but perhaps that’s just me. Wanted to share my experience in case it helps.
The first one received didn’t readily load discs and would freeze randomly. After contacting customer support with the manufacturer it was quickly decided that it was a hardware issue. A replacement player was quickly sent and it works perfectly. Even plays while player is being moved around. Battery is long lasting, able to watch 2 movies and still have battery left.
I purchased the iegeek portable DVD player, for my 98 yr old father, to make watching videos easy for him. I purchased mine on June 4th 2023. It had a 1 year warranty from time of purchase. Everything was good, with picture, features, ease of use, and my dad really liked it. However, in January ’24, my father said the picture was off, and the controls did not work…Playing a DVD, the screen, looked like a “negative” image seen in a photo. I reached out to Customer service, asking how to reset the player, or any other way to fix this. I received an email reply the next day, asking me to send a short video of the problems, along with purchase receipt and date. After two days, I received another email, and was told that the technicians said, it was faulty within the screen itself, and couldn’t be repaired. They then said they would send me another new DVD player, to replace this faulty one, s&h paid by them. I was so grateful and thankful for this very friendly and expedient customer service, to replace the defective dvd player. This is a good product, but rest assured, if anything goes wrong, they go above and beyond to fix the problem and give complete Customer Satisfaction. I shall definitly buy from this company again. Thank you iegeek representatives.
FYI: The level of customer service given by this seller is top notch. The DVD player worked great until one day it didn’t. I reached out and the company was willing to offer me a generous partial refund for any inconvenience. That which I did receive in a timely manner. Pleasure doing business!
