Used on #6 standard hose. Crimped two fittings with line in place on my Jeep. Crimps appear great. It requires quite a bit of force on the pump handle. If this is an issue, recommend the crimper with remote pump. YOU MUST CLOSE THE GAP BETWEEN THE TWO DIE HOLDERS FOR A TRUELY SEALED CONNECTION. DONT STOP PUMPING UNTIL THE PUMP WON’T LET YOU PUMP ANYMORE.
I used it to crimp 1/2 inch rubber air hose ends. It worked as it should. I will probably only use it once or twice a month. It seems to be a GREAT price for what it is. It seems to be made well also. Now let’s see the longevity and durability. Only time will tell. But for now I would recommend this tool.
I have only made 3 lines and one failed after less than a week. Could be beginner error so I’m not discouraged. You definitely want to do a lot of prep before crimping and make sure you are centered before starting. It’s cumbersome to work but with practice you can make custom lines for customers or yourself. My 1st attempt was a 1968 Cougar GTE. They don’t make parts for them anymore. It worked great.
