Product description
This was easy to construct and install on our chimney. It fit perfectly and held into place during recent monsoon and high winds! I did it myself since my husband has a bad back and vertigo. It is doing the trick of keeping birds from nesting or getting lost and confused in our chimney. We had saved two this year, and looking forward to not having any unwanted inhabitants in the future! It looks nice, too!
Easy to put together and seems to be very sturdy. I used my own anchors and screws to install but installation was not a problem. Looks great on my chimney and is a good match for my black metal roof. See attached picture.
Nice build quality
This cap was easy to assemble and it already had a nice paint finish. Looking at the build quality, i believe this will last for years. There are also multiple mounting configurations. I’m very happy with this product. Looks good installed as well.
Easy to assemble and fits the chimney great. Very sturdy and well constructed. Pleased with the look and fit. Used it for one winter burning wood a couple times a week. So far so good. Keeps the birds and rain out which is great.
Sturdy and Reliable Chimney Cover Great Protection!
This chimney cover is exactly what I needed! It’s made of durable, high-quality material and fits perfectly. Even with strong winds, it stays firmly in place—no worries about it falling off. It also does a great job keeping insects and rodents out of the chimney. Solid construction and peace of mind. Highly recommend!
Replaced a 15 year rusty grate style chimney cap with this one, it was fairly easy as far as standing on roof with the chimney within reach access. It has a very nice aesthetic with the geometric grid holes. When assembled I measured the diagonal corners for square and it was off by half inch, so to adjust that it’s a tedious task but doable. All the screws need to be loosened and tightened so it doesn’t put torsion on one side. Or just cut a wood board to the inner dimension as a jig. The hood is elegant, the whole thing is powder coated black. I opted to use an automotive rust inhibitor coating on all the surfaces as a way to keep it looking beautiful through all seasons. Is the hood going to withstand hail, it’s a good question, I think golf ball size may be able to dent it. Could always rivet stronger 1/8″ aluminum to the top. Overall it is well made for the price, but it will take a professional installer if your chimney is not within reach because you have some holes to drill into the crown. I cannot advise it as a diy for everyone, but if yours is within reach this will save you several hundred dollars as a diy, the cheap grate that lasted 15 years cost $140 installed in 2009. This one cost 80 plus sealant adhesive at 15, and I reinforced the crown with Crown Repair for a pricey 75. The chimney is good for rest of my life, job truly done.
Great product but missing parts
I bought two. The product is well-designed. I like them. The only problem I have is one of them missing a G bolt. I called Amazon. They can’t do anything but ask me to return it. they also suggested me to google the brand to contact manufacturer. However, I couldn’t find it.
