I need a quality shop vac for every day use cleaning ash and soot from from my wood and pellet stoves. The brand I was using would generally survive a year or two and then have a bearing failure. That will be the test for this new one. I have always liked the quality of the Dewalt products I already own and chose this vac for that reason. For starters, it really is very quiet for a shop vac and has excellent suction. I am using the filter bags in addition to keeping the cartridge in place. It does a great job of capturing the fine ash. The only issues I have are the hose that comes with it and the size of the cartridge filter. The hose is too large and stiff for my needs and the cartridge is very small. I am using the 1 1/4″ hose from my old vac that fits perfectly in the suction port. I’m sure the bigger hose that comes with it will be handy for bigger jobs. So far, I love it and will see how durable it is with time!
Perfect size!
Everything was great works fine it was exactly what I wanted and expected! Light weight and small enough to carry around in the house and quiet! Very quiet!
Except the 4 screws used to attach the casters to the unit were missing from the box! I searched the box and all parts for them and they weren’t there! I suspect they were supposed to be attached to a string on the bottom of the unit but that string was actually cut with nothing attached!
So I found 4 #8 self tapping 3/4″ screws in my supply and used them to attach the casters! Now everything is fine again!

I put this immediately to the test with basement clean up and then a water leak. It works great and includes everything that you need. Very happy with purchase. Good suction.
I’ve purchased quite a few shop type vacuums through the years from various brands. I was looking for a smaller and easily moveable vacuum for my shop to replace another well known brand that I was disappointed with. This vacuum has good suction and is light to maneuver or carry even though it is made with the durable and quality materials you’d expect from Dewalt. I’ve used the vacuum multiple times and I have say that this is also the quietest vacuum I’ve ever had.
This is a quieter shop vacuum compared to other brands that we have used in the past. It has good suction with many attachments and has built-in quality with many features. The price is fair in todays market place.
I have never had a Shop-Vac before personally but I’ve seen other people use them and they’re loud and usually very dirty because they didn’t have bags in them to keep them cleaner! I am very very very pleased with this Shop-Vac. It picks up incredibly well. The dog hair that are long haired dog leaves all over the house. It’s quiet for that type of a vacuum. I love the fact that it has bags in it for dry pickup and then you only have to remove the bags when you’re doing wet pickup. It’s got a wonderful filter that you can change when it needs to be changed. The only negative eye would have to say would be the length of the cord. It’s only 10 ft and that’s pretty short but it still works really well for my needs so it gets five stars because I’m impressed and it takes a lot to impress me LOL. You won’t regret i
I bought this to replace my 20-year old Rigid shop vac from Home Depot. I’m frankly amazed at the difference. It is light and easy to mauver as well as to store. It takes up very little space. The cord storage around the handle is ingenuous. The dust collection when using my orbital sander is really good, not perfect but enough to keep the area easy to clean up when I’m done. The disposable bags also make it easy to keep the vac itself clean.
In addition to great performance it is quiet. I can talk to my wife while I’m using it without having to turn it off. (THat’s not a recommendation, just an observation on this thing’s performance).
