This is hands down the best air fryer I have ever used. I own two Ninja Max XL air fryers along with a couple of other brands, and until now I thought the Ninjas were the best available. This Cuisinart completely blows my Ninja air fryers away in both capacity and cooking performance. The Cuisinart’s 9 quart capacity is enormous, wide instead of overly deep (but still 4 inches deep above the crisper plate insert), and large enough that I no longer have to run two air fryers at the same time to cook for the family.
What really impressed me is how evenly it cooks. Foods come out crisp on the outside and tender inside without needing to overcook or dry them out, and with far less oil than traditional frying. The heat output is excellent and cooking is fast, but it still cooks more evenly than any previous air fryers I’ve ever used. The viewing windows and built-in light are a stroke of genius because you can actually monitor food without constantly opening the basket and losing heat. I also love the shake reminder feature that alerts you midway through cooking.
It’s extremely easy to use thanks to the straightforward digital controls and presets, and cleanup is a breeze. The PFAS-free nonstick basket and crisper plate wipe clean very easily with a soft sponge, or can just go straight into the dishwasher.
I’ve used Cuisinart products since the 1970s, drifted away from the brand a couple of decades ago, and honestly feel like they’ve seriously redeemed themselves and stepped up their game in the past few years to reclaim their “best in class” position. If you need a reliable air fryer that’s big enough for the whole family, is thoughtfully designed with features for how real people cook, and cooks perfectly every time, this is the one.
An excellent air fryer with more features and function than competitors.
I’m impressed with the Cuisinart ClearView basket air fryer. It has Smart Technology to make cooking more accurate and easy.
It is multiple cooking devices in one, as it can bake, broil, roast and of course air fry and warm.
The pre-sets are easy to use. We made homemade fries from raw russet potatoes using the french fry preset and the fries turned out great with minimal oil. Not only did they cook up in half the time compared to an oven, they were crispy and evenly browned. This air fryer tells you when to shake the basket with the shake reminder feature. Brilliant!
My fears of the fryer being too small we’re laid to rest, as 2 pounds of raw potatoes were no trouble with the expansive cooking surface area.
It’s so easy to use and clean up is effortless.
***My one critique and a caution for others is that the basket slides out too easily when opening the basket door and if you have it on the edge of a counter, it could slide out onto the floor and become damaged. Our remedy is to turn it sideways on a narrow counter or push it towards the back of the counter so it can’t slide out onto the floor. I’ve also been successful by putting a silicone hot pad in front of the basket door so it has something to slide onto when opening the basket door.
It’s still an amazing fryer, better than our previous two. The cooking capacity and quality are unmatched. It’s also lightweight, but not small, so keep in mind for your specific counter space.
This air fryer will save us a lot of money because we no longer need to use the oven for many items, as ovens utilize a substantial amount of energy compared to the Cuisinart ClearView Air Fryer.
It’s a fantastic edition to our culinary tools.
Best Air Fryer I’ve Owned — Replaced My Toaster Oven Too
I’ve used several air fryers over the years, including Ninja models and larger toaster oven-style units, and this ClearView 9-Quart Air Fryer is easily one of the best kitchen appliances I’ve purchased.
The first thing that stands out is the dual viewing windows and interior light. I originally thought it was just a gimmick, but being able to check food without opening the basket and losing heat is honestly a game changer. You can watch food crisp up from both the top and front angles, which makes cooking much easier.
The 9-quart basket is HUGE. It’s wide instead of overly deep, so food cooks much more evenly and you can actually spread things out properly. I’ve cooked wings, fries, shrimp, salmon, chicken, and frozen foods with great results every time — crispy outside, juicy inside. It easily replaces both a traditional air fryer and a toaster oven for me.
I also really like the thoughtful features:
* Presets for wings, fries, and frozen snacks
* Two customizable preset buttons
* Shake reminder feature
* Keep warm mode after cooking
* Dishwasher-safe ceramic/nonstick basket
* Easy-to-use digital controls
* Bright interior light
Cleanup has been incredibly easy. Even melted cheese and breading wipe off with almost no scrubbing. The basket coating feels high quality and much better than older nonstick air fryers I’ve owned.
A couple small things to note:
* The basket can slide out quickly if the unit is too close to the edge of the counter.
* There’s no dedicated preheat cycle, though adding a few extra minutes works fine.
* It’s still a fairly large appliance, so make sure you have counter space.
Overall, this air fryer feels very well designed and premium without being overly complicated. For around the $160 price range, especially if you catch it on sale, it’s an excellent value considering it can replace multiple appliances.
Highly recommend.
This is my third Air Fryer and Cuisinart got it RIGHT! There are so many thoughtful features on this Fryer that I do not know where to begin. I got tired of my 6-quart Air Fryer and needed something bigger. While I did not realize just how big 9 quart would be – I am happy about it. Even though the basket holds a lot, the actual Fryer itself does not take up much more space than my 6-quart (or at least is fits on the slider and I did not have to move anything else out of the way to make room). The dual glass windows are a charm – with the light is own, it gives the impression I am a master chef. I cooked large shrimp and they were not bundled on top of each other and cooked to perfection based on the recommended temperature/time in the provided instruction booklet. The cooking can be seen from every angle. It has a sleek display that lights up and provides for additional memory for two custom time/temperature for those repeat items. The absolutely best part is the handle. It has a front divot to pull it open to check on the food being cooked, but the handle also wraps around the entire front so that you can use two hands to safely move the food in/out of the Fryer. Something so simple that I love.
I cannot sign the praises of this Air Fryer enough; I am giggly happy. The outside does not get hot while cooking, I was easily able to touch it and it was slightly warm to the touch (I did not touch the glass as that has a hot warning label). This cooked perfectly and was easy, easy, easy to clean. I did use a paper cover; however, the breading that fell off the shrimp was a breeze to clean. It is obvious that Cuisinart thought about this and used quality materials, made it lightweight and performs wonderfully. After using this, if something completely obscure happened, I would get this again without a second thought. Well done and absolute winner!
amazing!! great quality; great features; love the clear view+oven ligh
I absolutely looove this air fryer. I have been using it primarily for meal prepping, especially making egg bites for breakfast, and everything has come out soft, fluffy, and evenly cooked. I have not tried any of the recipes in the included book, but I will–they look delicious!
One of my favorite features is the clear viewing window and interior light. I enjoy baking, and being able to watch food cook without opening the basket is surprisingly useful. I’ve already used it to watch cakes rise while baking, something I could never do with my previous air fryer.
The LED display is easy to read and shows both the temperature and timer clearly. I also use the Keep Warm feature regularly, and it has been much more useful than I expected for everyday cooking.
Cleanup has been easy so far. The ceramic-coated basket is very nonstick, and the tray has silicone feet that help prevent scratching. Everything wipes clean without much effort.
The size was actually larger than I expected. I had to rearrange some appliances in my small kitchen to make room for it, but I do not consider that a downside because this has been such a major upgrade. The basket is wide and tall enough for small cakes, muffins, and even small batches of cookies. Since I do not currently have an oven, this has allowed me to start baking small items again.
I also love that you can save up to 2 favorite cooking modes with specific time, temperature, and cooking mode (bake, broil, roast, etc). Such a nice feature for my go-to food choices like egg bites. The controls are very typical besides the new and different features I mentioned throughout this review.
Overall, this has been one of my favorite kitchen appliances in a long time. So so happy I got it! The quality is excellent, the features are genuinely useful, and it has already become something I use multiple times each week.
Wow, this is big. This is my very first air fryer so I did a bit of research. My first adventure was with chicken wings. There was a preset button for wings and my bag also had the directions for an air fryer. Directions on the fryer are very easy to follow. Thermometer for setting the temperature and a clock for setting the time. I left the shake button on since I wanted to flip them half way. You definitely have to pay attention because it’s a very light beep, just once. The light is super bright and stays on for 45 seconds. You can check the food from a top angle or directly from the front. It bakes, broils, air fries, roasts, and then will keep the food warm. It has two fav preset buttons plus the other presets. I set it on my cutting board to protect the counter top, but plan to get a 15″ silicone mat. I also used a 10″ liner and it fit fine and still allowed me to add the magnets I purchased. The wings and a Mexican chicken patty were deliciousespecially the wings; browned and crisped beautifully. My bag directions said 18 minutes and 330 degrees. The preset was higher and longer. I only had five so was careful this first time. You can pull the drawer and it will keep its memory as long as you get the drawer back in within 5 minutes. It would be nice if the drawer would balance half way out; it doesn’t. I placed my fryer right next to the stove so I pull it completely and sit it on the stove while flipping the food. I really like this. Excited to try some baking. With the hot summer, it’s nice to be able to bake and air fry without heating up the house. Oh, and fantastic cleanup – almost no cleanup! And no smells – I have a very sensitive noise so nice there wasn’t anything. It seemed a little expensive at $160, but it’s big. Considering the very first time using an air fryer, I was delighted. Food was perfect. Definitely recommend.
I got this to replace a nearly 20-year-old toaster oven. It takes up less counter space, looks nicer, and with bake, broil, roast, air fry, and keep warm functions, it replaces both my toaster oven and my separate air fryer in one unit.
Capacity
The 9-quart basket is large. I’ve had no issues fitting anything I’d normally cook in a toaster oven or air fryer.
The Windows
This is the feature that sold me. A large window on top and a window on the basket let you see exactly how your food is browning without stopping the cook to open the basket. I didn’t realize how often I was doing that until I didn’t have to anymore.
Cooking Functions and Presets
Five functions (air fry, roast, bake, broil, keep warm) cover everything I need. The built-in presets for wings, French fries, and frozen snacks are useful, and you can program two custom presets with your own settings. I personally use the custom presets for toast and reheating leftovers. Temperature is adjustable up to 450F in 5-degree increments, and the unit automatically switches to keep warm when the cook time ends.
One note on preheating: the unit has no preheat cycle, but I’d recommend adding a few minutes to your cook time to preheat it. You’ll get better results that way.
Cleanup
The nonstick basket and crisper plate are genuinely nonstick. Fried melted cheese pulls right off with no scrubbing. Both pieces are dishwasher safe, so cleanup is quick.
Build and Controls
The digital display and buttons are intuitive. The oven light is a nice touch — you can toggle it on and off independently. Build quality feels solid and Cuisinart backs it with a 3-year warranty, which these days is excellent for a kitchen appliance.
Value
At $160 for a 9-quart unit that replaces two appliances and carries a 3-year warranty, I think the price is fair. That said, appliances like this go on sale regularly, so I’d watch for a deal before buying at full price.
TL;DR: A well-built, large-capacity air fryer that replaces a toaster oven and a standalone air fryer. The top and basket windows are a real quality-of-life upgrade. Nonstick surfaces work as advertised, cleanup is easy, and the 3-year warranty adds peace of mind. Wait for a sale if you can.
Rating: 5/5 — Does everything it promises, replaces two appliances, and the window feature alone makes it worth it.
The best Air Frye
Don’t keep looking for more air fryers—this is the best one, I guarantee it. I spent more than two weeks looking for a good air fryer, reading reviews, buying and returning several, but this one was the best—the winner. I recommend it 100%.
