I just received and set up my new Caydo M1C projector. So far I am very pleased with my purchase. I am a watercolorist. I will be using it to project and trace images directly onto watercolor paper. I am using it vertically mounted on Neewer Table Top stand with Flexible arm. This seems to work out well for my application. At full extension I can get a 20″X20″ image which is adequate for most of my work. If I want to go larger, I will mount the projector on a tripod and project on a vertical wall or easel. The projected image is sharp enough for what I’m doing. I am transferring the image using a USB drive. Software setup takes a little time (I’m a somewhat computer backward artist) but their online tech support is very good and quick to respond.
I originally left a one-star review for this projector after it failed pretty quickly, but I wanted to come back and update this because the company truly stepped up in a way that deserves recognition.
After my initial review, they reached out to me directly and went above and beyond to make things right. Even though I was outside of the 30-day return window, they understood that the device was clearly malfunctioning and sent me a replacement. That level of customer care is rare these days, and I’m genuinely grateful for it.
I’ve now been using the new projector, and I’m happy to say it’s working exactly as it should. No more random shutdowns, no issues at all. It’s clear there was something wrong with the original unit.
For context, here was my original experience:
“I really wanted to like this projector, but it completely failed after very light use. I use it to enlarge small notebook sketches onto canvas, and it worked fine at first. After only a couple of months and maybe 20 uses, it started turning on and then immediately shutting off repeatedly. It’s now basically unusable.
I tried troubleshooting everything I could think of. I cleaned the vents, removed dust, made sure the fan wasn’t blocked, and ensured it had proper airflow so it wouldn’t overheat. None of that helped. It just keeps cycling on and off.
What’s most frustrating is that I’m now outside the 30-day return window, so I’m stuck with an expensive piece of equipment that no longer works. For something marketed to artists who rely on consistent tools, this level of reliability is disappointing. I wish I could say something more positive, but unfortunately this has been a very frustrating experience.”
Easy to use
This a great projector, its small, has a great image quality and its easy to use. Once I read through the instructions, O was able to operate it easily. Good quality! I’ll be using it for scaling up my large my artwork on 4 foot canvases
UPDATE: Seller made it right, and sent detailed instructions on how to set up the new projector, update the software, and import pictures into the art app. Sometimes it takes a couple tries, but I’ve been able to import pictures several times now and it works! I’ve also been able to mirror my screen and flip the projector image without issue.
If you are struggling to upload photos into the art app, message the company and their customer service will help.

I ordered a NEW Caydo M1C Art Projector but received a used return missing the tripod and with exploded batteries in the remote. The device turns on and does project. It’s very difficult to upload a photo to it and the error messages pop up in Chinese. After multiple attempts I can get a photo to load in the art app, but it takes at least 4-5 repeated efforts to upload. Decent brightness. No idea how long the battery will hold up since the one I have was already used.
Proiettore buono
Comprato ed usato pi volte. Se sei un artista questo proiettore davvero buono. Facile da usare. Una sola pecca: il cavalletto, purtroppo in plastica e molto debole. A me si rotto subito. Consiglio l’acquisto di un buon cavalletto in contemporanea all’acquisto del proiettore. Nello specifico: immagini chiare e nitide anche di giorno. Batteria con autonomia di 1 ora e non di pi, ma si risolve facilmente con il cavo di alimentazione. Rispetto ad altri proiettori sicuramente questo risulta essere un buon prodotto ed un’ottimo rapporto qualit/prezzo. Consigliato.
