Does the Grill Press get hot?
The Grill Press is designed to stay comfortable during shorter cooking sessions and indirect heat (like pressing a panini), but it is not heat-proof. The handle will heat up on hot pans or grills. For safest handling, use an oven mitt or pot holder.
Can the Grill Press be used on open flames?
Yes, the Grill Press is safe for open-flame grills. On color-coated versions, direct flame exposure may cause discoloration over time but won’t affect performance. Because it can get very hot, always handle with an oven mitt or pot holder.
Is the Grill Press dishwasher safe?
Yes! The Grill Press is dishwasher safe, but we recommend hand washing color-coated versions to prevent fading. Stainless steel cleaners or Bar Keeper’s Friend can be used on the polished version, though they may slightly dull the shine over time.

LOVE CARAWAY – This is perfect for burgers and veggies!
I am a huge Caraway fan. Their products are such high quality, non-toxic, and last FOREVER. I’ve got their non-toxic frying pans, baking pans, utensils, and knives.
When I had the opportunity to review this, I was SO excited. I’ve recently learned to grill meat, and have been adding veggies to the mix also. I immediately looked up what else you can do with a grill press — and they are perfect not only for burgers but for very water-dense veggies like tofu and mushrooms. I got some portabella mushrooms from the farmer’s market and used the press to remove some of the water. Instant upgrade! It went from more of a steamed taste to a nice, carmelized, grilled taste. Like you’d order in a restaurant!
The press arrives beautifully packaged (it would make a lovely gift!), and is very heavy. The color is so nice, too. The perracotta is a sort of muted peach.
If you’re learning to grill or you’re already very serious about your kitchen products, you will love this. I do!
Push it real good
I didn’t expect to receive such a high quality product. This press is strong and heavy and ready to smash some burgers. Looks like it is made of stainless steel and ceramic coated. The color and finish are very good and polished. The weight makes it easy to use with minimal effort. The finish wipes off easily for cleaning. I would say better value than the press from black stone.
Solid grill press, good weigh
Very nice quality grill press from top tier brand. It has good weight to it, helps sear the burgers and steaks without squishing them. Good quality, stainless steel so no worries about seasoning it like cast iron ones require. Easy to clean, the enamel coating helps a lot. Really thoughtful shape, keeps your hands as far away as possible, handle doesnt heat up that much. Works exactly as expected. When it comes to Caraway products, you expect quality, and the price follows the theme, in short expensive but worth it.
Burger timeeeee?
Okay, first of all, I am slowly but surely building a very green kitchen, so the sage color immediately had my attention. She is beautiful. The color is even prettier in person. Honestly, Caraway never misses with their colors; they’re beautiful.
Kind of funny, but the second this came out of the box, my boyfriend looked at it and immediately said we needed to make burgers (while a crockpot full of chili sat beside us), which honestly tells you everything you need to know. According to him, it has that serious, substantial feel that makes people want to start grilling things on sight. Could also be used as an alternative to a cast iron skillet if you needed to play grit ball (ifykyk).
Anyway, it’s prretty heavy (you can tell by the way I’m gripping it in the picture lol) and feels incredibly well made (are we surprised by this?) I’d imagine it would be easy to smash burgers evenly without putting your back into it.
The handle is comfortable to use, and overall it feels like one of those kitchen tools that is both practical and weirdly luxurious.
Yes, it is a grill press. But it is also decor. It is also a motivation. It is also apparently a signal to the men of the household that burger time has arrived. It has a space in my heart.
Words cannot describe how beautiful this grill press is. I know that sounds crazy but between the quality and the smoothness of it along with the sleek paint, it truly is just satisfying to all senses. I believe this thing was built to last forever and I really think that my grandchildren’s children will be able to use it one day. It’s a simple design with no cracks or crevasses so cleaning is a breeze and you won’t have to wonder if it’s harboring some sort of bacteria somewhere. It’s a solid piece of cookware that you can press down as hard as you want to make the perfect smash burger or whatever else and you won’t have to question whether or not you’re going to damage it. Your burger will disintegrate into nothing before you hurt this press and even then you couldn’t. Caraway knew what they were doing here and so it’s definitely a case of you get what you pay for.
I have only had the opportunity to use this press once, but I was instantly obsessed with it. I haven’t tried anything of the kind in cooking and it did not disappoint!
I made a Beyond burger. This is something I’ve made for years, so I’m familiar with the process. I was excited to see how this grill press worked. It helped make the burger a bit more even and a really nice thickness. It then proceeded to cook the burger from both sides. It didn’t stick or get weird and it made the burger much more juicy. It honestly made a noticeable taste difference.
It’s easy to store and was easy to clean. It’s really solid and heavy. It feels like a tool that will last generations. I’m so pleased with it and will consider this as a neat gift option for people who love to cook. I can’t wait to try it on salmon next. Such a neat alternative way of cooking that more people should know about!
It’s also worth noting that this company is incredible. You feel confident that you are making clean nontoxic choices while cooking. The quality of their products are also very nice. So they are absolutely on par with the price point.
Simple tool, but a genuinely well-executed one.
This is a grill press that works pretty much for everything. The biggest advantage here is the all stainless steel construction. No coatings to worry about, no rust, no weird seasoning requirements like cast iron presses. It’s dense, solid, and built like a tank.
The weight is also good, heavy enough to improve surface contact and help develop a proper crust on burgers, salmon, chicken, or tofu, but not so absurdly heavy that using it becomes awkward. It presses evenly rather than smashing food flat.
I love the handle design. A lot of grill presses look stylish but transfer heat aggressively or feel uncomfortable during longer cooking sessions. This one keeps enough distance from the cooking surface to remain manageable around high heat.
Performance-wise, it’s a good press with improved searing consistency overall.
The finish has a premium and refined look. It’s very modern and for Caraway I love that it does it without sacrificing functionality. Perfect size, easy to clean, the size is good for my hands, heavy but not overwhelming. It presses evenly and I think it has proper value.
