I bought this same sized tent in the light gray, and because it performed so well, I bought another one in OD.
I’ve seen all the reviews on this tent and am surprised that some buyers had bad experiences with it.
Some even complained about the design of the doors, which I happen to absolutely love.
This tent IS a 4 season tent.
* It’s water proo
* It’s light weight (4.9 ~ 5.2 lbs depending on the Tent Pegs you use, and yes, I weighed the entire tent in its bag on a digital medical scale made for humans)
* It’s easy to set up/break down
* It’s roomy overhead/head to foot/side to side.
* It has mesh pockets on all 4 corners + an overhead light, etc., hanger & stash bed
* It has guy points and excellent cordage for guy-lines + extra cordage.
* The poles are Aluminum Tubular with shock-cord connectors that take-down into 14″ lengths for a compact roll-up.
I forgot to measure the width, but I’d guess they’re ~ 8mm which I prefer for weight and compactness,
and definitely not 11mm.
I use a very light weight sil-poly tarp rated @ 4000 hydrostatic head 5′ x 10′ for my Footprint, but that is not
calculated in the weight described above.
A thicker fabric is more protective, but the risk to reward is, it’s heavier and takes up more space.
The only thing I don’t like are the Tent Pegs that come with it.
They will easily bend if trying to stake into hard ground.
I prefer the “V” (aka “L”) shaped Pegs in Titanium, although the Aluminum “V” is lighter and cheaper.
The “Tri-Star” peg version is also strong but they don’t store together as compactly as the “V” version does.
I know that occasionally some lemons may unfortunately get sold, but from the pics I saw from the complainers, I wonder if they were actually user errors and just wanted their money back instead of taking the loss for their own mistakes.
e.g., Holes in the floor are usually from not clearing the campsite of debris and not using a footprint;
A Rainfly that blows completely off of a good set of side release buckles in strong wind, was either not buckled right, &/or, not properly guy lined down, especially when expecting strong winds.
Do I recommend this tent?
Absolutely!
For now the price is good @ $69.99
For a long time I had been looking for a solo tent which should tick these boxes: light weight; of the right size; with good quality and design. I thought I would have to pay US$200 upward to have such qualities in such a tent. And I got these in the Bessport 1, for much less.
The tent weighs about 5 lbs out of the box. That seems heavy considering the weight of solo tents on the market these days. It is heavy for ‘good’ reasons: the included pegs were made of iron – they weigh 1 lb. On the other hand the tent is made of traditional PU coated polyester fabrics. These are heavier compared with, for example, sylnylon. I am not disapppointed by the fabrics, though. They are obviously more sturdy than sylnylon. This is obvious in the case of the tent floor. Having said all these I would say that the tent is well built with good quality.
In order to reduce weight many solo tents on the market skim on size. The Ferrino Nemisi solo tent I own is a typical example. It measures 70 cm (27.5″) at the head end and 50 cm (19,6″) at the foot end. I can barely roll when I sleep in there. My head nearly scratch the roof when I sit up as the maximum height of this tent is 90 cm (35.4″). I am not really that big – 5’9″. When I am in there there is no room for my pack or my boots. My Bessport solo on the other hand provides a lot more room in comparison, good enough for me and my gear.
One interesting feature of the tent is the very tall “skirt” – the low wall of non-mesh fabric which surrounds the floor from the ground up. It is high – nearly 2′ from the ground up. It is nearly up to my shoulders when I am sitting inside. This may be thought of as a 4 season feature – the skirt prevents drafts from coming in in winter time. On the other hand, however, this could be a barrier of good ventilation in summer.
I had seen a review of this tent on YouTube. The reviewer conducted a rain test on this tent and subsequently observed that it leaked, as some parts of it were not properly seam sealed or taped. Hence he advised people not to buy this tent. I have not rain tested this tent. Neither have I used it in rain. Having seen this review, however, I did check the fly of my own Bessport tent, very meticulously. I can say that all the seams there are properly taped. And I see no reason why and how it could leak, ever.
I highly recommend this tent to anyone who looks for a well made, good quality and fully functional tent. It is absolutely value for money.
Great Hiking tent for a Great Price.
Great lightweight tent, high ceiling, tent pockets, hanging hook for light, x2 doors, x1 person very spacious, x2 side doors and vestibules. the high inner tent fabric walls are great. Could not find a tent like this in Australia but my Amazon US delivery was delivered within x2 weeks.( I did get free postage)
Only critique is the heavy tent pegs but easy to replace. Great Buy!

Recebi hoje a barraca e montei achando que a barraca era para duas pessoas, que barraca espaosa para uma pessoa ! Altura excelente, tenho 1,75 e ficou bem tranquilo at para guardar uma mochila, 4 bolsas internas para guardar acessrios, excelente acabamento, varetas de alumnio, estou surpreso com essa marca porque paguei caro em uma Naturehike de 2 duas pessoas e essa barraca com essa qualidade por esse valor me deixou surpreso ! Valeu pela compra !
First I just want to start with saying the value of what you get is amazing for the price. Tent is 4.5 lbs. By myself I can set it up in about five minutes.
Pros: super lightweight, has two doors, storage on all corners, a good bathtub, hanging hooks up top, great ventilation, tent poles are super lightweight and snap in easy, the attachment points are reenforced, the rain fly sits roughly three inches off the tent allowing for food ventilation, rain fly has several guy lines (I only used the corners and the vestibule ones), zippers are stitched well and slide with ease, easy pop up ventilation on either side that can Velcro down during rain.
Cons: comes with 12 steel steaks @28 grams each (ditched them and put in 6 of the aluminum ones from Walmart @16 grams each), THATS IT!!!
I have used this tent twice, one over night and a three night through trip. I had it set up and taken down before anyone else and the two guys I was with wanted this link so they can buy one. The tent steaks were the only negative that I have found yet. The zippers get caught in the material from time to time but I found that only happened when I was being quick but if I just calmly unzipped them like a normal person and not some ape, there were no issues. I’ll be buying another for my son.
As of this post, I’ve used the tent, 18 nights. Primary use, back country camping /hunting.
Plenty of room, for my needs, as a one person tent. Light enough to pack, where I go.
Quick, one person, setup and take down . Quality tent poles and material for the price point. I always use a small tarp as a footprint. Wall angle is sometimes a problem for head space, but definitely not a deal breaker. Vestibules offer a good amount of storage space.
I haven’t been in high winds or heavy rain/snow, so can’t speak to that. But, there are proper guy points, and the poles are rigid. Seams are sealed and the rainfly covers nicely.
I expect to get good use from this tent.
Ended up using this car camping when I didn’t feel like buying a midway $200 tent that I’d replace with something more expensive later.
Weight? Obviously not a lightweight or close to an UL tent. The weight listed is accurate.
Set up took about 5-10 minutes the first time. I purchased the footprint for tent and would suggest getting one as well due to the bottom being thin.
The temperatures varied from 40F to about 65-70F and had no issues with condensation. Ventilation worked well and it has two extra vents that can be opened and closed via Velcro (while not the best, they work). You can easily take the rain fly off if you need more ventilation in the case of hot weather.
My favorite part? It performed perfect during a storm. Zero water made it inside the tent. It was windy and with the guy-lines there was little to no noise. While there was some movement it wasn’t enough to detract from sleep.
Inside is enough for two people snugly with a little gear. For one person it fit me and everything I brought with room to spare. Each corner has a small mesh storage pocket. There is a hook to hang a light off of in the middle. It also includes a mesh basket that can be attached in place of the hook for additional storage.
Long story short:
Water proof.
Easy to setup.
Car camping.
Get the footprint.
It outperforms in cost.
Used the 2P during a 3 week Moto Adventure. It packs down fairly small, small enough to fit in my side pannier. The 1P would be smaller, but the 2P allows for room to change and store gear. The awning/raincover can also extend out from both sides to stash wet or muddy gear like boots.
One of the best features, and this could be a common thing now, as I haven’t purchased a tent for ten years, but there’s doors on both sized. This makes positioning or just getting in/out much easier, especially if used with two people.
Setup is easy with only two poles. The only stakes that are actually required are if you want to prop out the rain cover over the doors. I did this a few times, but otherwise just let it drape down. The tent can stand on it’s own when assembled, which makes moving it a breeze.
The only thing I would change is adding more vents in the rain cover. If you know it’s going to be dry, then simply go without it, but with the cover on, it did seem a little stuffy, especially if I didn’t pin down the door openings.
It lasted three weeks on and off a bike, so durability seems decent enough. Great value overall, especially when compared to specialty tents costing 3-4x more. It’s not the lightest or smallest, but if you have the capacity it’s worth it.

If you’re looking for a decent backpacking tent, look no further. This is very lightweight and packaged much smaller than box tents. We were able to strap the tent onto our packs easily. Our friends who came hiking with us had a very similar tent from dicks sporting goods, it looked almost exactly the same except ours had more head room, pockets on each corner, and a hammock pocket at the top of the roof. They paid a lot more for their tent so I was surprised it didn’t have these little features as well. Set up and break down is very easy, simple, and quick. I can do it alone myself if I wanted to. I was worried about the bottom of the tent tearing because of other reviews saying it was thin, but I had no issues. I used a ground tarp for underneath the tent. My dog slept in the tent with us and his nails did nothing to the tent. The tent was big enough for my husband (6″~), me (5″5′), and our border collie. We were kind of close together, though, but that is not an issue for us. Another good perk is that this tent gets HOT. I was worried since it was so cold when we were camping but I almost had to keep the doors open it was so hot in there. It really keeps your body heat in. On one rainy night, it stayed perfectly dry on the inside. We love this tent and will use it every time we go camping now!
