I got this to shade the top half of my rv doorway going outside. Long enough to shade inside from the afternoon/evening sun, and still short enough for the dogs to go in and out under it.
It comes with instructions and all hardware needed. Screen itself is already put together, including pulleys and cord. The materials are bamboo and pine. Not sure how the wood would hold up outside as it’s not waterproof.
Since it won’t be up all the time I used pins to hang it. It is very lite so it was easy to hang that way. It does a great job shading just enough that it doesn’t allow the heat from the sun shining in.
The pulley works smoothly to open and close it. The locking mechanism works by pulling the cord to the right and engaging or pulling the cord to the left and releasing.
The only thing I found not to work well is that the bottom dowel is not heavy enough to unroll the last 5 inches without helping with your hand. It rolls up great.
Also, the strings will slip off the bottom if they’re looser than the bottom Dow. They will slip to the side and then you need to make sure and put those back in place before you try and pull the cord to roll it back up again. There is nothing to hold then in place at the bottom.
I think it looks pretty good. The colors are neutral enough it would go with most decor. But it’s not fancy and you can see staple heads in the pine top and bottom pieces. They are unfinished (no sealer or paint on them).

The bamboo slats are very closely placed together, which is great for true shade. I am going to be using this on my front porch because the spot where I like to sit can get some brutal morning sun here in the south.
It is super easy to screw the hooks into the porch roof and hang the blinds – ready for immediate use! They easily roll up and out of place, or down when you need them. The package includes mounting hardware, as well as a metal piece that is meant for wrappingthe excess cord around and holding the shade at the position you want it.

From time to time, if you want, you can easily unhooked it and rinse it with soapy water to make it new again. These are just good quality, easy to hang and fit onto most walls, windows and patios bamboo blinds. Highly recommend.
I really like this bamboo shade.
It’s really easy to install. You can just screw the hooks into the wall. I suggest using a drill to start the holes, it makes it easier. After you set the hooks up you just hang the shade on it. It’s very simple.
The strings work well to unfurl and retract the shade. You have to move pretty slowly.
The shade filters about fifty percent of light. I like that you can still see some light through it, as I have it on a door.
The bamboo is strong and I haven’t seen any splinters in it. It’s smooth and durable feeling.
It is really calm and serene looking. I like that it’s subtle and simple.
