Enjoyable!
I needed a powerful laptop for engineering. Compared to other gaming laptops, the Asus ROG is more premium and compact, making it more enjoyable to use. So far, no issues.
Buena computadora pero delicada
Muy buena laptop en general, los materiales y componentes son de buena calidad y he podido jugar la mayora de juegos en alto o ultra a unos 60 a 70 fps como con Jedi survivor o 120 en Minecraft bedrock con vibrant visuals o 95 Minecraft java con shaders y mods para optimizacin, en cuanto temperaturas no pasaba de los 80 pero con forme paso el tiempo ahora toca los 95 pero an no hay thermal throttling, considero un poco prematuro que a los 6 meses ya necesita mantenimiento pero en general la mquina es bastante buena: consejos si sabes de tecnologa hazle undervolt, mantn la BIOS en 306 (las versiones recientes a esa dan un poco de problemas de latencia) y para la actualizacin de bios siempre en modo hbrido o optimus, ya que si actualizas en solo dgpu o solo icpu te puede dar problemas.
Could be a bit cheaper but for the price and what it can do this is a fabulous piece of tech. It does get hot a bit quick even with its cooling system, I purchased a nice laptop cooler that helps it stay within safe operating temperatures. I love that you actually able to upgrade the ram on this things, although it would be nice to be able to upgrade all hardware when the time comes. The screen is beautiful I was initially a little disappointed I didn’t get the 4k version due to the price difference but the quality of the screen is incredible, very bright and colorful. Fan stays quiet can’t ever hear it over my headphones. Battery lasts about as long as you would expect, but whenever I do take it over the charger it lasts a solid 2-3 hours before needing to be plugged in and that’s with high intensity gaming. So could potentially be used to school and other activities.
Similar performance to a PC I built 6 years ago for upwards of $4k. Its a little big but not as beefy as a gaming laptop I had a decade ago. Battery life is poor but I’m usually stationary by an outlet while gaming anyways and that’s always too be expected for essentially a desktop replacement. All my games run exceptionally well.
Also to comment on another review, the CPU is clocked at 2.2ghz initially. A quick bios update, which is generally automatic unless declined, fixes that in 2 minutes and boosts clock speeds up to the advertised 5.2ghz clock speed. Its normal to have to update bios when building a computer for the correct clock speeds, not sure why the laptop doesnt just have the correct firmware to automatically work fully with its CPU.
ROG is definitely the way to go! To Azeroth and beyond!
I play World of Warcraft and this computer plays well with it. Graphics card handles well. There are so many great features and one of my favorites although not necessary are the aura lights that can be synced different ways. The graphics card let’s me play on ultra and there no lag. Depending on lag in Azeroth it usually stays at 77 to 148 fps. It doesn’t over heat with the fans it has. The sound quality is great the screen picture is of great quality. Resolution is 1920 x 1200.
A great Mid-Tier Laptop! If you know what you’re doing.
This is a solid mid-tier gaming laptop!
Construction is solid and the keys are very responsive and feel nice for the price. If you’re coming from an older graphics card, it’s Great upgrade from the RTX 2060ti. Although it’s unfortunate that you only get 8gb VRAM on the 5060, which is marginally cheaper than the 5070. Great in blender and Gaming on Ultra/Very high on most games. usually peaking 110fps from my usage ( In turbo mode ).It’s a decent modern gaming laptop. BUT you do NEED to install the recent drivers and firmware. Some manually. The laptop is “Not out of the box gaming ready.” Also, like any other gaming laptop, you do need to plug in for the best performance.
Heat is not too much of an issue, considering how hot other laptops in this price range get. The laptop does have a LCD display, you will notice backlight leakage in dark screens. Every laptop is different though from what I’ve seen. I rarely notice it in most cases.
Overall for the price and Specs. Not bad for a Gaming Laptop in 2026. Would definitely recommend.
Killer Laptop
This is a great laptop. The refresh rate on the monitor is superb. I love the keyboard layout and the standard gaming keys have a brighter light. The touch screen is larger than any other laptop I’ve ever used. Well worth the money!
I don’t know if a person can run two virtual computers at the same time such as Windows 10 and Ubuntu on VirtualBox. I have a little issue with taking screenshots where one of the keys for taking screenshots gets turned off and I have to use Windows Snipping Tool but it can be managed easily by turning the key back on. Other than that the computer works well. Keyboard works, the 3 USB ports work,16GB RAM works, audio works, etc. I am able to run benchmark hashcat tests in the Terminal Emulator with Kali Linux with this machine.
Just got it and updated the bios and drivers, great performance so far! The screen is very clear and bright. Plays all my steam games flawlessly.(i play games that are graphically demanding like inzoi, subnautica 2, TES skyrim, fallout 4, TES oblivion remastered, no mans sky) Fast websurfing and downloading, The 16 gb of ram seems to be the perfect fit for modern spec. requirements. The lights are a cool feature. But i find myself turning the bottom lights, but keeping on the keyboard lights to save battery and my eyesight. Overall good quality built machine with an awesome plastic and no tool functional bottom casing.
The cooling system is discreet and quiet, but the bottom center does tend to get hot while playing games, so i recommend just tweeking settings like game graphics, to lower overall pc and power usage.
