Product description

Big Monitor, Smooth Positioning
I bought this mainly to replace a wobbly desk arm that couldn’t handle my ultrawide screen without drifting. I wanted something sturdy that could lift a large display, sit at eye level, and give me quick, painless adjustments during long work days.
In everyday use it has been straightforward. The mount clamps to my desk (the clamp is broad and solid) and the monitor sits securely. I appreciate the full range of motion: tilt up to 50 degrees, down to 20, swivel left and right, and even rotate for portrait mode. The cable channel hides power and video cables well, keeping the desk tidy.
What stood out was how well it holds the weight and how smoothly it moves even with a heavy ultrawide. It feels sturdy, with no noticeable wobble, and I can reposition quickly without fighting the arm. The option to choose clamp or grommet makes setup flexible, and the matte white finish blends with my desk setup.
Overall, it delivers on its promise with solid performance and versatility. My only small note is that the initial setup took a bit longer while I balanced tension and alignment on a large screen, but once dialed in it stays put. It’s a reliable, easy-to-use monitor arm that makes a big desk feel organized and comfortable.
Great Looking Monitor Arm with Excellent Range of Motio
This monitor arm earns an easy 5 stars from me. I’ve used a number of monitor mounts over the years, and one of the first things that stood out about this one was the design. It simply looks better than most monitor arms on the market. The clean, modern appearance fits well into both gaming and office setups without looking overly industrial.
Performance-wise, it does exactly what I wanted it to do. The arm feels sturdy and holds my monitor securely without sagging or drifting. The adjustment mechanisms are smooth, making it easy to reposition the screen when needed.
My favorite feature is the vertical range of motion. It offers more height adjustment than many monitor arms I’ve used, making it much easier to dial in a comfortable viewing position. Whether raising the monitor for standing use or lowering it for a seated setup, the movement range is impressive.
Installation was straightforward, and the included cable management helps keep everything looking neat and organized. Overall, this is a well-built monitor arm that combines functionality with a much nicer design than most competitors. If you’re looking for a sturdy arm that looks great and offers excellent adjustability, this is a solid choice.
Stable and Smooth Monitor Arm for Larger Screens
I am using this arm with a BenQ thirty two inch monitor and it handles the weight without any issues. The build feels solid with its steel and aluminum construction and the matte finish gives it a clean, understated look. Once mounted, the arm stays exactly where I position it and there is no sagging or drifting over time.
The range of motion is excellent. Tilt, swivel, and rotation all move smoothly, and it is easy to switch between landscape and portrait when needed. The clamp mount feels secure on the desk and installation was straightforward. Everything needed was included and the instructions were simple to follow.
Cable management is built into the arm and does a good job keeping power and display cables tucked away so the setup looks tidy. With a larger monitor like mine, having the cables hidden makes a noticeable difference in keeping the workspace clean.
This arm is clearly designed for heavier and ultrawide displays, and it shows in how stable it feels even when fully extended. If you are using a large monitor and want something that does not wobble or slowly sink over time, this is a reliable option. Overall, it is a sturdy, heavy duty arm that works very well with bigger screens and gives plenty of flexibility for everyday use.
Got this for my son's gaming center and only one issue...
He said the screws to assemble the actual arm wasn’t a smooth as if the bolts were not machined correctly or straight. Another issue is that it doesn’t have a downward tilt. His other arm has this feature. Also, he can’t push it all the way back without hitting the arm hitting the wall. And it won’t stay up no matter how tight you turn the bolt towarda the +. Also there’s parts that it looks like they should be popped or cut out on the white bade. Other than that, he said this was awesome.
Sturdy full-motion monitor arm that handles large and ultrawide displays with confidence
Most monitor arms max out around 27 inches and 17 pounds, which leaves owners of larger ultrawide displays without good options. The ARES WING addresses that gap directly with a rated capacity of 49 inches and 44 pounds, which covers the vast majority of large format monitors on the market.
I mounted a 34-inch ultrawide display using the clamp base, adjusted the arm through its full range of motion, and used it daily over several weeks to evaluate stability under the monitor’s weight, ease of repositioning, and whether the mechanical spring held position without drifting.
The steel and aluminum construction felt appropriately heavy-duty for the load it carries and the arm held the monitor position without any noticeable drift or sag over extended daily use. The full range of tilt, swivel, and rotation adjusted smoothly and locked into new positions without excessive force or wobbling. The cable management channel ran all cables cleanly through the arm without needing additional clips or ties, which made the desk setup significantly cleaner than the original stand. The clamp attached securely to a standard desk edge without marking or slipping. Installation required some initial tension adjustment to match the monitor’s weight, which the instructions walked through clearly. At $70 after the discount from the $100 list price it represents solid value for a heavy-duty arm with this range of size and weight compatibility.
This is a well-suited pick for anyone running a large ultrawide monitor who wants stable, full-motion positioning and clean cable routing without spending on a premium brand name.
Holds up my 40" TV w/ 0 drooping & I can position it just about anywhere just using my hands
I have an Ares Wing monitor arm I got last year that’s been great and is the best monitor arm I’ve used. This newly released model matches that same great build quality at an even lower price, and I also really like the new rounded aesthetics of the updated design vs the more angular design of the previous one.
Once I had everything out of the box and laid out in front me, it only took about 15 minutes to put the clamp on my desk and stack the 2 arm joints together to complete the assembly for the arm. I did use a 200 x 200mm VESA adaptor kit I had from my previous Ares Wing monitor arm that worked just the same on this new one. One thing I noticed is that although the top underside of the clamp is nicely padded with rubber material to protect the top surface of the desk, the bottom side of the clamp is just raw metal without any protection for the underside of the desk. So if you want to protect the underside of the desk, I’d suggest adding your own padding there.
I put this monitor arm to the ultimate test by mounting a 40″ TV that weighs close to 30lb. I had to tighten the tension quite a bit from the default setting, but I was very impressed to see that long before I even got close to the max tension, this arm held up the 30lb tv with absolutely no drooping. I could also still easily raise it, lower it, swivel it sideways, tilt it up and down, and rotate it 360 degrees freely on the fly with no tools required. It’s very impressive that all this is possible with a 40″ TV, and I can place it exactly where I want it in whatever orientation I want, then change it up anytime just using my hands.
With the right VESA adapter kit, I have no doubt that this arm can handle even larger monitors and TVs up to its officially rated 44lb max weight capacity since I still had plenty of tension adjustment left after setting it up for the 30lb TV.
Quality monitor arm for my 27” scree
This review is for the ARES WING Monitor Arm for 17″-49″, Ultrawide Single Monitor Mount Holds up to 44lbs, Heavy Duty Mechanical Spring Monitor Stand Adjustable Arms, 75/100 VESA Mount with Clamp/Grommet Base, Black.
I ordered this monitor arm because I had been wanting to add an external monitor to my MacBook. This arrived quickly and was packaged well. All the pieces were easily identified. I had a question after ordering and reached out to the company. I wanted to know if it came with the screws to mount the monitor. I had a reply from the company saying they were included in about an hour. I received my Amazon Basics 27″ monitor which weighs a little over 8.5 lbs. It was well within the weight this arm is designed for. It took me about 20 minutes from unboxing to full installation including the monitor. I’ve had it for about 10 days. I wanted to give it some time to see if I had any issues with the arm drooping or moving but I have not had any issues. It’s a heavy duty, quality arm. I like how i can easily adjust the monitor position with just one hand. I like how it gives you the option to mount it with either a clamp or a grommet through the desk.
The directions were easy to follow and all tools needed for assembly were included. The arm does have a bulky appearance but that’s not an issue for me as the back of my desk faces a wall. But i knew what the design was before ordering so that wasn’t an issue. I liked how it had the cable management to keep your desk neat. The 2 pieces on the base that look like they needed to be removed were in case this was a model with USB option. Overall, I am very satisfied with this monitor arm and the quality of service. I will definitely keep this brand in mind when I need any additional arms in the future.
No Fuss Adjustments, Esp. Horizontal to Vertical, But Not the Sleekest Looking
From the perspective that this Ares Wing monitor arm looks and performs as advertised it’s only honest to say it’s 5-stars. However, if I was to rate it only among other 5-star arms I’d give it 3. So technically, it’s 5-stars, but I don’t think it’s the best of the best.
I have another Ares Wing monitor arm, which is awesome, and sells for just $10 more than this one. For that small premium it offers a higher weight tolerance, is more compact, and I find more aesthetically pleasing. So, while this arm will do the job and you won’t be sorry, I think Ares Wing has better offerings in this same price range.
My biggest complaint is the amateurish looking backside clamp. If your desk backs up to a wall maybe this isn’t a big deal because no one will see it. But if your desk is in the middle of the room it looks like something you cobbled together from Home Depot. If you have a guest chair opposite your desk, this is what visitors and clients will be looking at.
Of course, Ares Wing shows every angle of this arm on the product page so I knew what this clamp looked like when I ordered it, and why I can’t fairly deduct any stars. Still, I didn’t think it would look as cheesy as it does. I painted it white so it wouldn’t grab so much attention. In contrast, the clamp on my other Ares Wing arm is virtually invisible. It hides under the desk. I’m not sure why Ares Wing went backwards with this latest model or at least didn’t include a cover for it. I attached a photo of the bracket painted white to give a visual reference.
The construction of this arm is mostly steel and has no problem holding up my 27″ monitor, though it only weights about 5 lbs. The arm movement is smooth and adjustable to your taste, from “feather’s touch” to “put some muscle into it.” Cable management is OK but doesn’t accommodate thick cables. The barrel connector of my monitor’s power supply barely fit. Don’t expect to pass through more than two average thickness cables. This is another aspect where my other Ares Wing arm excels over this one.
Assembly is straight forward, just a few screws. It took me about 10 mins from box opening to being able to attach the monitor, but I took my time. Everything needed is included unless you have a glass top desk. In that case you’ll need to buy a reinforcement plate too, but you don’t need to buy the Ares Wing branded one. The instruction manual says 2 people are required for assembly, and that may be true for larger, heavier monitors, but I had no problem attaching my 27″ monitor alone.
One feature this arm has my other Ares Wing beat is that the monitor goes from horizontal to vertical or vice versa with a quick twist of the hands. My other arm requires unscrewing a holding pin on the back of the VESA plate, changing position and then relocking. So, if you regularly change between horizonal and vertical then this arm has a leg up.
