I was excited to try this notebook cover and organizer. I love to write and have all kinds of blank notebooks sitting around. This cover fits A5 sized notebooks, which typically measure 8.25-inches tall and 5.75-inches wide. I wanted to test this on a variety of notebooks of different thicknesses so see if it could handle thicker notebooks. I was pleasantly surprised.
Let me start out saying that this cover comes well packaged and presents itself well, in case you have a notebook lover who’s looking for a protective cover. I’d also say that the materials are a bit fluffier than I expected and feel like you’ve wrapped your notebook in a sleeping bag. It’s made from a slippery nylon material that feels like it will shed water well. It doesn’t cocoon the book, so don’t go immersing it in water, but if you’re carrying it and there’s a light sprinkle, it should protect your book reasonably well.
I love the color red so I opted for the black with red/orange coloring. It definitely leans on the orange side. Still, I liked it. It has several pockets and card slots. It also includes a pen loop to keep one handy at all times, a ribbon for using as a bookmark in case your own notebook doesn’t have one, and has an inside buckle to keep things from falling out. The outside flap is secured with magnets that feel strong enough but you’ll appreciate the buckle inside. It has a small carrying handle on the outside and comes with two extra handles you can attach, including one shoulder strap. You slip the front cover of your notebook in one side and then contort your book to get the back cover in. I used both a soft cover notebook to test and two hard cover notebooks. I was able to get them all in without too much difficulty. Just know you’ll need to bend your books backwards a bit in order to get the second cover in.
So, who is this for? The only practical use I can think for it is for traveling. If you’re an avid writer or sketch artist and you want to have a notebook with you at all times, I would highly recommend this cover. With its variety of carrying options, array of pockets and card slots, and waterproof features, it seems ideal for taking with you on an outdoor adventure. You could put your ID in it, a passport, and some cash and be on your way. When you’re ready to pull it out and use it, you’ll have a lot of material to juggle in your lap or on a flat surface. Because it tri-folds, you’ll need a lot of space to spread it out. It doesn’t seem to be designed for at-home use.
You’ll see from my pictures the three thicknesses of books I tried in it, as well as how well they fit once I had them inside. The thickest book felt a bit snug, but it still worked. Overall, I’m impressed with the functionality of this book cover for traveling. It includes a storage bag, which is an interesting touch, though it feels a bit unnecessary. It doesn’t synch all the way closed because it synched on the long spine side of the book. Until I’m ready to travel, it will stay stored in the bag in my closet. Now I’m itching to go on a trip with it and write and sketch about what I do.
Nice case overall - good functionality
A clever design and easy to use, with good carrying versatility with the strap options. Color looks great and is true to the listing pictures. Feels sturdy and well made and I love that it can double as a small purse. It has some built in zippered pockets, and a place for ID and credit cards. This has a latch to securely close the main compartment and the cover flap has strong magnets. There’s an external zippered compartment on the outside, and two pockets, though I don’t really use those since they aren’t secure. Inside has teo more zippered pockets and the ID/card holders. I should mention that I don’t trust the top two card holders as the sides of this are open, and the card holders are a tad more shallow than I would prefer, but in terms of building in extra functionality, overall I’m very happy.
This is the little travel bag I never knew I needed. Really like it. Tri-fold-over, magnetic buttons to keep everything safely inside. Lots of inside pockets and various ways to carry it. Not a massive fan of the shoulder strap with the laces, etc, but cross-body carry seems the safest way. My plan is to use this mainly for travelling as it will keep my passport and boarding pass etc very handy as you are pushed through security. There are zipper pockets for money and change and also slots for credit cards. And it carries a book or a notebook or iPad, etc. When it folds over full of items, it still looks neat and compact. This has been a really fun way to keep my planner and journal together and ready to go. The fabric is easy to wipe down and not overly soft, which I actually prefer. I honestly thought I was just getting a cover, so I was surprised by how many accessories came with it.
The cover fits my A5 and B6 books perfectly. There are plenty of pockets for pens, pencils, stickers, and sticky notes, making it easy to keep everything together. I really like being able to move my planner around without worrying about it getting damaged. It holds up well when I toss it in my tote bag or leave it out on the couch.
I’ve even managed to fit three A5 journals inside. It’s a bit snug, but the magnetic closure still keeps everything together. When I’m putting it in my bag, I usually use the main clasp as well for extra security.
I was a little concerned the pen holder might be too loose, but it actually holds my pens in place really well. I haven’t lost one yet!
Perfect all in one!
I have bought a million of these to find the right one and this is it. The amount of pockets are abundant without being too bulky or in the way. It’s perfect on its own, with its bag, in another bag, or with the strap to become its own “bag”. The material is heavy duty but lightweight and durable. It’s the best all around.
Practical book holder with pockets!
I bought this so that I could use it during seminar sessions. I can leave it and the book open AND have a question sheet next to it on the unused ‘flap.’ I’m left handed so I made the adjustment (the mirror image of the product picture). It will work well for most of the books we will be ‘seminaring.’. The extra pockets are useful.
