10 ft stainless steel hose
This review refers to the 10 ft stainless steel hose I received – not the 50 ft flexible hose they’re advertising now instead! I don’t know anything about that hose. The stainless steel flexible hose is the best and toughest garden hose type you can have, hands down. I use the 10ft as extension to my longer steel hose I already have and it works perfectly. No leaks, it screws on tightly, the connections seem to be made well. Especially around rough and sharp edges – I have to maneuver around a large, thorny rose bush – the steel beats a flexible PTE garden hose any given day. Believe me, I tried it and it busted with the PTE one. So, I’m a firm believer in stainless steel flexible garden hoses and can fully recommend this one.
This is the first time I’ve used a stainless steel hose, and I was a little concerned about its flexibility and ease of storage. However, I found that it’s probably one of the easiest hoses to handle and store. This hose is now dedicated to use with my pressure washer. I get no licks, it is easy to maneuver, and I can wrap it around the washer when I am done.
I have used this hose multiple times now, and it looks brand new, it feels extremely durable, and I am very happy with it.
Perfect for my rain barrel!
I live this little hose so much!! It is skinnier that man a standard hose which is absolutely perfect for my rain barrel which lacks the water pressure of my main hose. I typically use the rain barrel/hose to fill my watering cans. I get the water flowing by opening the the nozzle while on the ground to get the water flowing, then I can lift the hose into the watering can. Because the hose is skinny, the water flows much better than a standard hose.
I also love that it’s stainless steel and tangle free. And being that it’s only 10 feet, it’s truly perfect for the rain barrel.
This hose has a limited flow rate due to the 3/16″ actual internal diameter of the brass fittings. The product listing indicates 3/8″ ID, but the brass fitting internally is smaller. It is highly flexible and the strain-reliefs at both ends is a very clever design and screws into the brass connector body. It s rather oversized for the narrow steel outer-wrap, but does seem to work very well as a strain relief. As far as “kink-less”, yup it sure is!
The hose comes with a small roll of Teflon tape, and extra rubber gaskets. A nice touch, but I have never used, or even heard of anyone else using Teflon tape on a garden hose, and especially with proper rubber gaskets – totally useless – but a nice gesture. The gasket alone should provide for a leak-proof method of attachment. Perhaps on the end that attaches to a sprayer, etc. If it doesn’t have provision for a gasket might the tape be useful.
The brass machining of the connectors is precision, clean and well done. The tolerances are perfect for a smooth fitting on both ends. The steel wrap appears to be similar to Type-302 as it is slightly magnetic and therefore I would not expect it to rust.
There is an information sheet included, but useless as it refers to a self expanding hose, or expanding hose with quick connector. This hose is neither type, however the information page does state that it should not be used for hot water. The product listing states that it is resistant to extreme heat weather conditions. Therefore, even though it is a convenient length for draining a water heater (which is what I was intending for), I am unsure if it is suitable for such a use/application.
Short hose, zero frustration, doesn’t kink
This is the 10 ft version, and that’s exactly how I’m using it—not as a primary hose, but as a short extension where a full-length hose would be overkill. For that purpose, it’s perfect.
The big win here is the metal design. It doesn’t kink, it slides easily across the ground when you pull it, and it just feels more durable than your typical rubber hose. The brass fittings are solid, everything connects cleanly, and I didn’t have any issues with leaks.
It’s also lighter and easier to handle than I expected. You can drag it around without fighting it, which is honestly half the battle with hoses.
Flow-wise, it’s not a high-volume hose compared to a big 5/8″ rubber one, but for what this is (short runs, extensions, quick jobs), it gets the job done without any issues.
Bottom line: if you need a short, durable, no-kink hose, this is a great option. Just don’t expect it to replace a full-length main hose.
Metal hoses slip across the yard when you pull on them. Metal hoses don’t kink. I used to think that you could run your car over a metal hose without it squishing. Well, you can run your car over one (I have), but they do squish. Oops! But even squishes the volume of water that comes through the hose isn’t any less than usual, as far as I can tell. The inner latex (natural rubber) core provides a long-lasting resilient tube to contain the water and the outer, flexible stainless steel cover provides you with a puncture resistant and slippery hose cover.
I really like metal hoses! I’m using this one to extend the length of the hose that I have in my garage so that it will stretch even longer (out the door and around most of the way to the side yard). I also have other hoses to connect to my hose cart in the back yard (so I can move it where I want it to be and move it under the porch when needed). I also have a shorter hose which I use to drain my hot water heater. What a useful tool!
As with the other metal hoses I’ve purchased these come with several other rubber washers and Teflon tape so you can be assured of a good seal.
I love this metal hose. It doesn’t kink or knot up, gives good pressure, and looks nice. It doesn’t take up as much room as a rubber hose and is thinner but delivers the same emount of water. Probably unrelated but I like how it sounds and feels also. Its a fancy looking hose that works great. Overall a durable hose foe the price.
Compact, Lightweight Metal Hose That’s Easy to Handle
I used this 10 ft stainless steel garden hose for quick watering tasks where a full-length hose isn’t necessary. It’s a good option for small areas, patios, or connecting to other hose setups.
The biggest advantage is how lightweight and easy it is to handle. Compared to traditional rubber hoses, this one feels much easier to move around and doesn’t drag or tangle as much. The flexible metal outer layer helps it bend around corners without kinking.
The stainless steel construction gives it a more durable feel on the outside, and it seems like it would hold up better against rough surfaces or general wear compared to softer hoses. The brass connectors also feel solid and attach securely without leaking in my use.
Because it’s only 10 ft long, it’s best suited for short-distance use rather than full yard coverage. It works well for things like watering near a faucet, rinsing off equipment, or as a connector between other hoses.
In terms of flexibility, it moves well but still has a slightly different feel compared to traditional hoses. It doesn’t coil the same way, but it also doesn’t kink, which is a nice tradeoff.
