Well-made, good materials.
These are solid. I’ve had issues with huge covers before having big gaps between the rim and the board, which led to hive beetles getting in and hiding. This seam is tight. No need to caulk it. The big board is also plywood, not fiberboard, so it seems like it will handle the weather and elements just fine.
Seems like a good set for the cost, and I will update if any flaws come about when I’ve had them on hives for a while.
Nice inner covers, little pricey, but good quality. Not weather resistant.
Very nice inner cover – non-waxed or coated (hence the ‘natural wood’ listing). Needs to be waxed or otherwise protected if these are to be used without the top outer cover for top feeding, etc. Otherwise, will reside underneath telescoping top and would be fine.
Came packaged very well in bubble wrapping, no damage seen upon opening. Bubble wrapped frames were inside a box, which came inside the shipping box, which is probably excessive but helpful against damage.
Could see issues with rotting or mildew if excessive moisture builds up in winter, so be advised or prepare covers.
These do not have a top entry notch/vent notch like some others, they are 100% around all 4 sides. They do not come with escape slot covers for the center slot due to this.

I’m probably the only person who isn’t using these as intended…
I saw these and immediately thought “mosaics”. I enjoy creating mosaics and usually buy wood frames and backdrops at craft stores. These caught my eye and didn’t disappoint! They’re light enough that my finished project won’t be too heavy. The frame around the wood base makes a great finishing touch. They’re unfinished, so glue sticks well, and I might even paint the edges when I’m done. The hole in the center will require some creativity, but I’m not worried. The size is perfect — not too big, but substantial enough to create a nice pattern.
Think outside the box, and you’ll find many uses for these!
Well built Inner Cover.
This review is for the “10 Frame Beehive Inner Cover with Feeding Hole, Bee Hive Box Inside Cover for Beekeeping”.
I have been keeping bees since 2020 and I currently have 9 hives and will be expanding to 12 hives in the next few months. Having that many hives requires a lot of equipment to maintain and replace periodically.
This is a basic inner cover. It comes unfinished so will need to be either painted or have bees wax applied. There is no hole for an upper entrance so it took me about 5 minutes to add that feature.
What really stands out with this product is the construction. The manufacture took the time to make the joints correctly by using a rabbet joint and then glued the joint to secure it. The wood is good quality and care was taken in the manufacture of the product. This is a good product for a reasonable price. Because of the way this product was constructed, it should last many years if the user maintains the equipment.

These inner hive covers have worked well for us as we slowly get back into beekeeping. They are well made and the wood seems to be good quality. These are not notched, so if that’s your preference, you’ll have to notch it yourself. These inner covers are well constructed and look/feel like they will last. They are bare wood and will have to be coated. Overall, I’m happy with the quality and construction of these. The price is about average for inner hive covers, but I think the quality might be a bit better.
Two durable well made 10 frame wooden inner covers for your hives
Quality built inner covers for your 10 frame hive.
The corners all have 2 staples each and an overlapping joint to make a durable inner cover that should last a long time.
The lid on one side is the standard 3/8″ bee space and the other is a bit deeper so if you have pollen patties or anything you want to put on top of the frames you can and still fully close the hive. There is a center oval for ventilation but no upper notch. I don’t typically use the upper notch but depending on if you want it to be a condensing hive setup you won’t want the notch. If you do want the notch it would be easy to cut it in. Great deal for a 2 pack of 10 frame inner covers.
