Roll out. I wish it had more of a solid back, but if you are attaching it to a wall it’s perfect, but not if you are using is free standing.
Farmer loves and chickens approve. These are really great boxes. A little fiddly to put together by yourself, but if you have an extra set of hands around, they go together very quickly. Very durable and they are easy to clean and the looks of them in our hen house is awesome. They have ample room for our bigger layers and look like they will last a lifetime.

Nice nesting boxes! Assembly wasn’t very simple to start but once I figured out how to start, it was fine. A lot of screws, but simple to do. My girls are loving it and I love getting clean eggs!
Great nesting box for the price.
Much better and stronger than I expected. Don’t depend on the instructions. There are only pictures, and some of them have the screws and nuts labeled wrong. Watch a video on YouTube, or just figure it out. It’s still worth it, but you aren’t going to assemble it in 30 minutes unless you have done it several times and have a good workbench.
Pros:
Size: 6 nesting boxes, standard size each.
Quality: sturdy and will last if put together correctly.
Functionality: the slight angle will allow, in theory the eggs to roll down to be collected.

Cons:
There is a large 2 inch gap between the back and frame- assembled properly. Looking at other reviews, I didn’t notice if others had a gap?
The screw driver was all chewed up at the ending – needed my own to complete the job.
Instructions for the most part were correct, and easy to follow.
The flip up part where eggs are collected, one side came with a locking bolt, the other had a regular(like the ones included)
Uncertain if my product purchase was actually brand new as indicated and paid for – or a return due to issues mentioned.
Overall the design is nice – all metal so will need nesting pads.
Something soft will need placed where eggs will roll down as not to break (not all shells are thick).
It will be mounted off the ground and semi enclosed. Seems like winter it will be cold, due to material – just give warm bedding, but something that will still allow eggs to roll downwards.
These took me some time to put together, but I got them together nonetheless! (Partly I took my time and partly the screws were just in hard angles for me to get in too quickly.) I put hay in mine so I cannot comment on how the eggs would roll into the front bin, but I may get brave and try it sometime. I finally got my chickens back while waiting to get a barn and pen built, and they took to these well. Even the ducks have laid eggs in them on day two of being home. The slots seemed small compared to what I’ve used in the past, but the chickens seem to approve. The materials seem like they’ll last for a good while, and I’m happy I went with these nesting boxes.
