Tim this camping for my in laws famous pulled pork. He is very old school and was hesitant to use it. Once he did, he was in love. He couldn’t believe how well it kept everything to temp. The heat retention on this bbq blanket is amazing! It’s large in size so you can fit multiple meats and sizes in it. It’s easy to wash, we turned it inside out and washed and dried it that way. Looks great. Has sturdy carrying handles. This was such a great item!
Great for when you need to rest your meat like when cooking pork or skirt steak
This is a perfect little deal for when your barbecuing pork or squirt steak or any kind of meat that needs to rest after it’s been cooked to redistribute the moisture in it. As we all know if you’re cooking pork or chicken or some cuts of beef right after comes off the grill there’s moisture on the inside out of the outside which tends to lead to a dry chewy bite. That’s what this comes in it allows you to take your meat put it in this little bag it’ll keep it warm allow the moisture to redistribute itself and then everybody is at juicy awesome bite. Has he added benefit of keeping flies and insects off your food while it’s resting which is great for barbecues and picnics and things like that also at church functions where you’re grilling outside and bringing stuff inside it’s a great little way to keep your meat warm and resting. Inside materials thermal easy to clean up just wipe down the size is great for burgers for trays of food you can fit two or three trays of food in there depending on the size of your tray we usually have these red and white trays and it would fit both of them side by side no problem with the lid which is fantastic. This is well made I didn’t see any signs of zipper stitching or fabric pulling apart and it just looks like you’re in the toolman Taylor at a big old barbecue when you got that beside you I don’t know maybe I’m a big kid but I like it.
This meat blanket exceeded my expectations. It held the heat incredibly well during a long drive and kept the meat hot for hours afterward. The material feels durable and high quality, and it was very easy to clean after use. The size is perfect for a large brisket or multiple cuts of meat at once. If you need a reliable way to transport BBQ while keeping it hot, this is definitely worth buying.
I’m more used to the BBQ blanket-style bags instead of this basket-style design, but this one actually works extremely well. It does a great job keeping food hot during transport, and I really appreciate that liquids don’t seem to leak through easily.
The handles are sturdy and make carrying heavier food trays or containers much easier, which is a big plus when transporting barbecue or large meals. The overall construction feels solid and well made.
My only real downside is that it’s a little more expensive than I would’ve preferred, but after using it, I can say it performs well enough to justify the cost. Overall, definitely a good buy.
I ordered this blanket for use with larger smoked items, specifically brisket. My typical brisket cook takes 16–18 hours, followed by a few hours of resting at the end; I needed something large enough to hold the meat without getting a cooler or towels filthy with beef fat.
I have used this blanket once so far for a 15lb brisket, and it worked perfectly. The size is ideal for a 15+lb brisket, multiple racks of ribs, or other large cuts. It likely has enough capacity to hold as much as you can cook on a normal-sized residential grill or smoker. (I have included pictures of the meat while using the blanket).
I use aluminum foil to wrap my meat, and while it normally only leaks a small amount, it’s a non-issue here—the interior is very easy to wipe out and clean. Additionally, I was able to use a portable temperature probe and zip the blanket around it, allowing me to keep a close eye on the internal temps during the multi-hour rest.
As seen in the images, my 15lb brisket fits with room to spare; I imagine even the largest brisket would fit comfortably in this extra-large BBQ blanket. The handles are a nice touch, making it easy to transport if required. While not necessary for this first use, I frequently take brisket to work or family events, and this would be perfect for that.
Overall, I am very pleased with the functionality, aesthetics, and portability of this blanket.
This is one great bbq bag to keep meats, poultry, anything you’re grilling and want to keep tender, juicy and warm. I couldn’t wait for this to arrive so I could try it out.
Unfolding it I was a bit overwhelmed at the size. I thought I’ll never be able to fill this up, so will it still work with the smaller amount I attempt. Well I’m here to say it did, and did it very well so it’s definitely a keeper.
The bag is very good quality, exterior material is durable, well stitched and easy to clean (my hand was a little greasy with grilling and I transferred it to the top of the bag. I thought it might be stained or difficult to clean but it wiped right off with a damp cloth). The zippers work great and kept heat & fluids sealed in the bag. Even with the smaller amount of chicken and burgers grilled, the foil lining interior kept them juicy, very flavorful and stayed warmer than i expected. And the handles were strong, stitched and sturdy for carrying the bag.
I used a Pyrex dish to hold the food since the bag was soft sided. When carrying it with the food it never felt uneven, or concern on the food inside. But the best things I found with this bag was: (1) During grilling no worry about flys or other critters. If some meats finished before others I just put them in the bag, covered with parchment paper and zipped closed and (2) Before after the meat was done I rushed around trying to get food inside before before it got cold, and making multiple trips back and forth. This bag was a huge time and lifesaver – the food was secure and kept warm inside. I made one trip to the door, set the bag on the patio table and took the tools, sauce, etc inside and came back for the bag. There was no worry about anything getting into the bag or any heat, juices, etc getting out of the bag. And once inside it wasn’t rushing to get to the food before it’s cold, dry or needing to reheat.
So all said I am extremely happy with this bag. That notion of being large faded away. It cleaned up easily and quickly (didn’t have butcher paper but the parchment worked fine), and it folded up nicely until the next time. This is definitely my go to when grilling now.
