Stylish and bright.
I’d been looking for a mid-Century fixture to complement our interior design. An “original” fixture in this design is too expensive; this knock-off is fine. The covering looks very nice and is an even thickness, which gives off a consistent glow with no dark areas. The metal frame is very symmetrical, with no flaws. I can’t confirm how good the ceiling wiring /support is because I installed a plug onto the end of the cord and hung the lamp from a ceiling hook.
Quality feels higher than a paper shade
I live in a basement with suspended ceilings everywhere. The lighting installed by the contractor is ultra-thin LED spots each one with its own junction box.
I wanted to replace the spot with a pendant light over my small dining table, but I needed something really light because of the ceiling. I took a chance and ordered this, hoping that it would weight next to nothing while looking very good.
I was right on both counts, and it would have been very easy to install with a standard ceiling. However, my situation was a little more complicated.
I detached the spot from the junction box and wired this lamp to it instead. Securing the mounting bracket to the tile was a challenge and there were several failed attempts and a lot of swearing involved.
My work looks a little sloppy to me and I will need to do some repairs to the tile around the canopy’s base for everything to look perfect, but the lamp itself is very pretty. Or maybe I’ll just install a plain ceiling medallion to hide the defaults.
Anyhow, I could not be happier with this lamp! I had to shorten the length of the wire considerably but I coiled the remaining length inside the canopy instead of cutting it. This way, I can make it drop lower if I want to.
The size is perfect for my little dining set and it gives a soft, simple, elegant vibe. The fabric looks organic without being too papery or fragile.
I installed a smart bulb so I can control it with my virtual assistant. I can dim the light to create a cozier ambiance or use it at full power as a task light. I can also change the light temperature (daylight during the day or warm white at night) or its colour altogether.
Honestly my favorite light in my house. We added Govee lightbulbs so we can control the brightness and color temperature based on our needs. Super easy to install and to adjust the height you want.
An excellent knockoff of a design classic. The shade is absolutely gorgeous. One caveat: the cord and ceiling attachment are black and they should definitely be white! Depending on install details, these could be pretty big and maybe fatal flaws.
The fabric is good, pretty easy to install, looks nice. I have a relatively small living room and 20 inch is too small. If you are looking for a similar ceilling lamp for living room, I would recommend at least 27 inch ish width.
